Bernard Hopkins career defining win at middleweight is clearly Trinidad a guy who only competed in that division 5 times and his record in that division was poor 3-2 the opposition at 160 Felix beat were very questionable at best plus he only moved up to 160 because that's where the money was at.
So in my opinion this fight can be compared to Golovkin win over Brook, Brook and Trinidad two guys who wanted to make a statement fighting a bigger guy in a division which they shouldn't have been going to.
Brook a more natural 154lber as was Trinidad, so why does B-hop get a pass and why does this suddenly become an outstanding career defining win for Hopkins, yet you all cry about Golovkin doing the exact god damn same thing :lol1:
There can be absolutely no doubt about it a win over Jacobs trumps Felix Trinidad, you can't just expect to go 3-2 in the MW division and say "okay that's it, Trinidad is the greatest win for Hopkins" IF you are saying that which a lot of people are then you clearly are more of a less saying his resume in that division isn't that good.
The same can then again be said about his win over ODLH that was another freak show fight that should have never happened in the first place since ODLH lost his tune-up fight prior to that one that and look at his MW record, it's trash! 1-1 but it really should be 0-2.
The manner you hold your career in does help, Golovkin is close to breaking Bhops record with by far more KOes, fighting in a more pleasing manner, and with pretty decent wins in the mix.
So, yeah, the whole fake hysteria about this really is a bit of joke.
everyone always laughed at Hopkins' record, because it was a joke - he fought nobody
now people are trying to play it like he fought some good fighters just to **** on GGG
GGG's resume destroys Hopkins' MW run
Jacobs and Canelo are miles better than Sloppy.
Then the division also has Jermall Charlo, BJS, and Dereyvchenko another bunch of guys who are much better than Sloppy.
I mean I get the whole racist agenda here, GGG beats Brook "He fought a bloated up WW that doesn't count!!"
Hopkins beats tiny Felix "OMGGGGGG THAT WAS AMAZING SIZE DOESN'T MATTER!!! SIZE DOESN'T MATTER, Hopkins second coming of Christ WAKANDAAAA!"
These people think we're blind to this **** :lol1: it really is utterly pathetic.
Definitely. Agreed 😉
I would argue that Canelo is way, way, way better of a win than Joppy. Not even close.

Trinidad's win over Joppy is better than any GGG win so far lol.

so he was handed them without a fight, the guy is right.
He was categorically, unequivocally, unshakeably and blatnatly handed them. how can you write "not handed them" which is the opposite of the truth?
Because it was forfeited by a fighter that was afraid to fight him. That means he won them without even having to fight. There's a reason they say the sport is 90% mental. My original argument to the guy was that they were in fact beat, mentally. In most people's eyes this is the same as ggg winning, as it's obvious the opponent is forfeiting the fight to save themselves from physical punishment.
I'm a bigger Golovkin fan than Hopkins, whom I respect, but Hopkins' reign is clearly better. Not only does Hopkins have Oscar on his resume, who's legend no matter what. But Trinidad was a tremendous win. Trinidad was riding amazingly high at 40-0, and was a 2-1 betting favorite over Hopkins.
If Golovkin knocked Canelo out, it would be much closer. But he didn't, and that fight was close. Hopkins' MW reign is much better at this time.
Hopkins beating a welterweight is his marquee win, let that sink in... Racism is very real.
Tito moved the weights progressively. Didn't he campaign at JMW for a couple of years and beat top guys like Fernando Vargas before moving up to middleweight?
Yes, racism is real, otherwise people like GGG wouldn't be anywhere near a top 10 P4P list.
That single win over Tito is better than anything GGG has done so far, or will ever do. I'm far from a Hopkins fan.
... not a B-Hop fan either, but he's a true legend and deserves the utmost respect...
Yep, stopped at the same spot
This is just because you dislike the truth, you know both situations are similar, 3-2 MW resume... with some of the weakest wins possible on that resume, ffs Brook could easily have KOed the C level guys like Mayorga and Sloppy.
Fact is Hopkins best win is a guy who should have been at SWW, but instead he fought a bloated up SWW who was far too small for MW.
Haters want to hate, but you know If GGG fought the same guy you'd all be saying the exact same thing.
TS you just compared Brook to fuucking Felix Tito Trinidad WOW!!!! How long exactly have you been watching boxing?
If you're a newb ill give you a pass but if not thenboxing is not the sport for you.
Tito Trinidad *****s all over Brook
Why do boxing fans act like such salty *****es the comparison is BOTH MENS REIGN AT MW ARE PATHETIC AND NEITHER BELONGED AT MW!!!
Do I have to paint a picture to you idiots?

1-How the hell can you compare Tito to Brook??? Tito had 16 or so defenses at 147, won titles at 154 and 160..WTF????
2-What are jacobs top 5 wins? seriously who has he defeated man?
terrible post
and what record is he breaking?? he had the damn "regular" title and wasnt even the real champ and they are counting that, it is pure desperation to try to sell this guy and it is sad
Tito fought the weakest 160 title holder, fact!
Sloppy was an absolute weak terrible world title holder who would be beat by the top 10 of today.
We're talking about Tito as a 160 fighter not a 147 fighter, because remember you can't get respect for being a 160 fighter beating a welterweight.
Tito is a falsely fabricated win which If GGG had you all mother loving know that you'd be saying it's a trash win, agendas of this site as so f**king obvious.
comparing brook to tito is ...like comparing Broner to Mayweather.
Come on get real GGG fans, we know you are fans but dont atom-bomb your own arguments into laughing stock. This is not a comedy thread.
