Was Wlad The Greatest White Heavyweight of All Time?

Wlad's resume is far better than Vitali's. Vitali is best known for getting his face caved in and stopped by an old, out of shape Lennox Lewis after giving him a tough fight for a few rounds.

in terms of head to head? he doesnt even make top 20 white heavyweights. If shot Sanders pasted him with ease, then think of the dozens of other white HWs who would do the same, and I'm not even talking titlists and champions. No other HW champion has needed to escape the boxing scene to avoid getting koed easy by a near 40 year old man, or needed his brother to rescue him from such a fate. It couldnt be a more ridiculous scene if it was tried. Be realistic, this is a stupid thread! Wlad is one of the weakest H2H champions in history. His brother would do his number, think about that.

How do you rank him among Marciano, Dempsey, Schmelling, Morrison and his own brother? IMHO he was better than all of them, as far as I know anyway...can't think of any more white HWs Is that all we have for white HW's? *kicks rocks* I prefer Vitali to Vlad. I think Vitali would beat Vlad if they fought too. I think the kind of pressure Vitali has and the fact they're the same size, I prescore that one 116-112 Vitali maybe even TKO.

I would rank his brother and Marciano as better than Vlad. I can't think of any other white heavyweights who were better. Dempsey was great in his day. I don't think a prime Dempsey could beat a prime Wlad. It's possible Dempsey could beat him with his lightning fast very hard punches. Wlad perfected a strange style using his size and straight punches combined with holding that was difficult to deal with. Wlad could end a fight with one punch from either hand and especially with his straight right. It was his weak chin that gave him losses to guys who weren't that good. It's hard to compare him with old timers like Dempsey and Marciano. They were much smaller but also much faster and they could really punch and take a punch. Wlad and Vitali are in a class of their own imo

Vitali, pffft. Vitali sh** his jocks and straight up ducked Rahman. Wlad bashed Rahman like a little b**ch. Featherfisted Chris Byrd was starting to take over toward the end of his fight with Vitali who pussed out while miles ahead on the cards. Wlad just straight up ended Byrds career. Wlad fought just about everyone during his last run. Wlad is far more talented and athletic. Vitali was one tough SOB but was horrifying to watch (so was Wlad at times). Wlad definitely the goto white heavyweight of boxing. Love or hate his Steward style, he would be tough for most top 10 heavies. Morrison my favourite though. His fights were entertaining and his style pretty damn good.

Dempsey was the most exciting to watch.

The best was Jack Dempsey and then gene tunney, I probably have Marciano coming in third,beating some legends when they are old is better then never beating any like Vitali's resume.

No, but the best of the last 10 years at least. The thing about HW is that it's changed so much over the years that you simply can't compare HWs of the 50's to the 70's to the modern era. Many of them wouldn't be HW's today. Also it's unfair to guys like Wlad who look stiff compared to smaller HWs with better movement and stamina from previous generations.
