Doesn't break 450k imo...
They have a reach of about 1.3 million viewers shared between them in the USA.
Neither have sold a PPV in the states. You're off your head of you think over s third of that viewer base is paying 80 bucks plus to see them fight on PPV. 450 k buys at 80 bucks is 36 million.. take half for network and costs you have 18 million PPV in the US. Add gate and UK PPV you're lucky to get Joshua's guaranteed purse
I agree, that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be built up and grown but if the fight happens now it won’t be as successful. I know people don’t want to hear it but Joshua faces Povetkin and Miller, meanwhile Wilder faces Whyte and maybe Ortiz rematch (breazeale I doubt does much tbh) would help build it up. Summer 2019 at Wembley, and then rematch Vegas November ?

This fight is a waste in the United States as a PPV.
No one cares about Wilder enough to pay for his PPV or knows who Joshua is.
Furthermore, their fan bases right now are more likely to stream the fight rather than pay for it on PPV.
Canelo and GGG have their own solid followings, and usually folks with money.
Pacman is the holy grail for Pinoys as much as Klitchko was for the soviet community.
Outside of Alabama and Brooklyn, no one gives a rats ass about Wilder.... or enough to pay for his PPV.
You are severly underating 2 undefeated HW fighters in a UNIFIED match .
Joshuas popularity is going to soar by 2019 .
The fight if priced right does massive numbers like we haven't seen .
Again thats assuming it gets built up and they have a few more fights each WITHOUT losing .
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 state of this c*nt
300k like some of you are saying sounds low imo. Wilder has been getting some solid coverage in the US lately. It seems like the mainstream is slowly being introduced to Wilder and the potential of Wilder/Joshua. I still think Wilder hasn't hit his peak yet as far as superstardom goes. Joshua on the other hand has a bigger name in the UK but needs a fight in Vegas to get introduced to the US market in a larger scale. If the fight happens this year I think it does 750k if not close to a mil. Gennady and Canelo had a tougher time getting across the mainstream audience in the US because they don't really speak English. An extra fight or two for Wilder and Joshua each would help continue to build their names and hype for their eventual showdown. Those are my two cents. As a fan I hate to say this but I think their clash has the potential to make major money that each guy might fight once or twice more before they actually meet.
Hard to see how it does anywhere near a million when both guys are relatively unknown.
Unless they can do some incredible promotion job to capture the imagination of the public, maybe utilising social media in some creative ways, i think the fight will not sell that well. Even then, it's not easy to get people to put their hand in their pockets and pay for something that they know little about.
Names sell fights, especially when it's big numbers. They care about the event, not the boxing itself. The general public are not interested in boxing for the most part, so it would be hard to get a million people to pay for something involving guys they don't really know.
How many does it do?
Canelo vs GGG did 1.5 million ppvs so I see Wilder vs Joshua doing around 350k to 500k.
I think with proper marketing it will do around 1 million
I think if it happens before the end of the year it will do around 300k.
There's not a heel or not a superstar (at least in America) involved nor is there a marketable Latino fighter so I think it's closer to GGG-Jacobs than GGG-Canelo. Neither is seen as a great fighter by the limited audience that views them here too so that's likely to factor in too as is the fact that it's for the undisputed Heavyweight title which will push it north of 100k but not far north IMO.
Hopefully it surprises me and cracks 1m because Boxing could use it but I have my doubts.
Not sure that Wilder is necessarily known better than GGG. Wilder's name is only starting to be heard with some regularity while GGG was being promoted as HBO'S boogeyman for a while now. Peace.
Being promoted as HBOs boogeyman has nothing to do with popularity lol. You seen how popular he was when he headlined his own ppv. Couldn’t even crack 200k. Peace
Less than a million if its the next fight in the US and btw the cable providers/ppv providers take approximately 50% of the cut.
Wilder has done zero PPV.
Joshua has done alot in the UK but also zero in the US.
Wilder has average tv ratings and never sould out a venue in the US and only fights in his backyard.
says the wilder fanboy lmao
the data doesnt suggest anything u said
Far from a Wilder fanboy. **** theres nothing in my post history to even suggest that. I just want a great fight and all i hear and see are excuses. You dudes care more about whos ducking who than actually watching a fight. Kinda pathetic for boxing fans. The money is there. Theres plenty of time and its very easy to sell heavyweight fights in America. If people want it to happen it will happen. Stop making excuses.
If Canelo ggg did 1.5 then Wilder Joshua doing at least 1.7. They not are more known than ggg and this is a heavyweight fight

It will do no less then 5 million ..........
Because it wont happen until late 2019 /early 2020 and by then it will generate the biggest HW fight ever .
IF NO ONE LOSES !
Just when I think you can’t get anymore ridiculous...
Idiot.
Its easily the biggest fight that can be made in a year with not a single big ppv scheduled for either boxing or MMA. It will do a million. Only people who dont "want" to get this are the Joshua fans who seem to believe that there's a limit to the revenue this fight can produce.
