Tony Bellew believes one of the fundamental differences between himself and David Haye is his win-at-all-costs mentality as he plots to upset the odds once again on May 5. Bellew was an overwhelming underdog going into last year's first grudge encounter but was ahead on all three of the judges' scorecards when he stopped his heavyweight rival in the 11th round at London's O2 Arena. Yeah he reminds me of Floyd but without the dedication. Haye likes the attention and headlines. He's always loved a camera and the way he used to potray himself was that of someone who pines for acceptance and with his age and injuries he isn't thought of in the same esteem he once was.
If haye had dedicated himself from the start and kept it up and shunned the media spotlight he could of been an absolute monster at cruiserweight his whole career. His explosiveness and ability at one point was unreal
Exactly. He was always going to be too small at HW to really make an impact. His talent got him so far but he was found out against Wlad with the sheer size deficit.
I think he felt he achieved all he could at cruiser and like others have posted, he likes the publicity and the limelight, and that comes easier at HW.
A serious haye would destroy bellew the one that fought maccaroneli would despatch bellew in 2 rounds current haye struggles with him. Daves heart isn't in it anymore from an outside observation.
Agree with this.
No question at his peak he'd have despatched Bellew with ease. Now? I don't think even he really believes. He's going through the motions.
Unless Haye breaks his leg or arm Tony has no chance. He was lucky in the first fight. Good money fight for both as David Haye likes rewarding fellow black fighters. He will find another black guy to make money with after this.
If you mean fighting - Tony Bellew is the only black fighter Haye has faced in 5 years and 9 months. If you mean as a promoter, I'm pretty sure he doesn't care what colour his fighters are...
Haye might as well be put together with glue and string these days, he’s spent more time in surgery than Michael Jackson did. Bellew likely takes this one but it’s a sideshow and both are irrelevant on the world scene.
Haye looked terrible but Bellew offered nothing til the injury and even then took 5 rounds to finish off a sitting duck.
It wasn't like he was up on the cards after 6. Haye was supposed to walk through him like he was made of paper or at least win the early rounds but he couldn't even manage that. Bellew will take it on points or late stoppage!
What about the first 5 and a half rounds when there was nothing wrong with him? As for black fighters what you talking about. Haye looked like a useless old windmill before the injury no timing nothing.

Haye looked awful even before the injury. Whether he was carrying the injury (as explained by the trip to Germany in the week of the fight), whether he didn’t train hard enough and take Bellew seriously, or whether he’s just shot, who knows.
He is looking in fine shape this time though and seems to be taking his training seriously, rather than drinking c0cktails in hot tubs in Ibiza as he was last time.
If there is 50% of the old Hayemaker left he stops Bellew early. I didn’t recognise the Hayemaker who fought Bellew last year.
Lol...It's a stream not a ppv.
The under card is about as bad as the main event.
why so negative ?
lenroy thomas v joyce should be a great match up
cox v ryder could be a war
and butler v rodriguez too
so dont be such a downer

Haye has been falling apart for years now and been steadily declining. Really don't understand why race has to be involved

Hayes largely shot, but he was winning on points last time. Unless hes stamina fails him dramatically, i think he should win on points. But one ruptured tendon in the leg, or bicep tear and he goes out the same way. And i can really see it happening.
