Both match each other in offensive skill. Davis had the edge in power while Loma has the edge in defense. Loma also has the better footwork but Davis has youth on his side. I don't see Loma running through Davis. I actually think Mikey would be an easier fight for Loma than Davis.
Marquez also was fighting his 46th professional fight compared to Loma's 2nd fight. Salido didn't have near the experience level in 2004 as he did in 2014 either he's a guy that came into his own years after the Marquez fight.
If you look throughout Boxing history many greats lost early fights and to fighters far less accomplished than Salido. Arguello, Marquez, Armstrong, Hopkins etc; we are talking all-time greats with losses to nobodies.
I will give you that everyone knows Marquez is a Mexican legend and a legit all time great, but i just think Davis is slaying Goliath Loma and doing it with inside body work and intelligent pressure and that's my pick.:nutkick:
Salido isn't that good to begin with look what Marquez did to him, the fact that Loma was in that kind of trouble against Salido questions his boxing skills and if they are at Floyd and Whitaker type level, and this is what everyone is claiming, so i just simply question it and want to see more from him, but no doubt he's legit world champion level, but Whitaker and Floyd level is truly great and a table with not to many seats filled and alot of empty chairs, because they are hard to fill.
You have to show me. :boxing::popcorn:

You think he folded under pressure vs salido?...at the end of the fight it was Lomachenko almost knocking Salido out...not the other way around. He has found an answer and that trick will not work again against him believe me. First time going 12 and he learned on the job. If you cant see he has improved alot since then idk what to tell you....

It's not 50-50 at all but it could be competitive in my opinion. I think Davis' mentality is the big variable..... he can have his moments but how does he respond to Lomachenko's moments of dominance in the fight. Other than Salido, GRJ is the only guy that I didn't see visibly give up or stop trying. I don't know, it's not crazy to think Tank could make a fight out of it but honestly it would almost be an "upset" for Lomachenko to not dominate.
Every fighter has their specific weakness. It could just be a certain style, their chin, conditioning, or power.
Floyds weaknes was strong pressure fighters like Maidana and busy fighters with good jabs and length like Oscar, from what i have seen.
James Toney"s weakness was his eating habits dedication and hiding his flaws with over confidence.
Tyson was mentally weak and hid this with intimidation and being a crazy bully, but if you push and attack him and make him fight, just like Evander did, you will make him fight stupid and frustrated.
My take on Loma is he doesn't like inside rough fighters like Chavez and other Mexican style Ricky Hatton fighters and folds under extreme hardship and pressure, if he's relaxed and in control he's perfect, but you chase him, making him fight inside he's toast and will lose again.
He actually adapted against Salido and had Salido out on his feet and hanging on at the end despite having an unfair weight advantage.
People trying to re-write history and put that as a massacre. Loma probably deserved the W and the ref should have taken 2 or 3 points too.

If something like that happened again, you would have to consider it but as you said, it was Salido who was being pummeled at the end of that fight.
2nd fight and he arguably won.. Let's not forget salido intentionally came in over weight and got away with a lot of punching below the belt and pretty much whatever else he wanted. 2nd professional fight...
Has he even lost a round since that fight?

does anybody really believe floyd is gonna throw davis in there with loma and make money for arum? lol
they are trying to make him fight the winner of the farmer-dibb fight. they said so after the fight
There's a reason Tank avoids talking about Loma and why he wasn't happy about Floyd suggesting they fight.
If even he knows it, then there is a pretty serious gap between them.
3 rounds and Davis quits on his stool after hitting pure fresh air.
The kids not in the same league he would get embarrassed and he's the sort the let that embarrassment get to his head.. get frustrated and do something silly.
That was all a factor and every professional fighter at some time in his career, gets hit with illegal punches and wrestled and cheated while fighting, hell Maidana did the exact same thing to Floyd in their fight.
But what i saw in Loma vs Salido was how he reacted to inside pressure Mexican style body and head attacks, just like Chavez was doing to everyone and Loma doesn't fight well against pressure, he fights well and comfortable against boxers and boxer punchers and Davis is a attack and destroy body punching rib braking knock out tank and hits like a mini Mike Tyson and that's bad business for Loma. :sombrero::boxing:

Who has Davis fought that doesn't stand directly in front of him, they have all been Taylor made for his style, this will be a boxing lesson and Davis will be sent to the corner and won't come out again
Davis is going to walk threw loma, Loma doesn't like body shots and pressure at all and can't adjust to it and its this kids time, Davis is the next big thing if he doesn't get lazy and doesn't train correctly.
Salito fight should of showed you that but your drinking the Kolaid.
