According to ESPN, Japanese 130 lb fighter, Ogawa, was fined for having a banned substance in his system, which he didn’t knowingly ingest, but admits it was in his system, prefight vs Tevin Farmer, and both A and B samples were negative post fight. Anyhow he was fined and REQUIRED TO UNDERGO YEAR ROUND and VIGOROUS TESTING, at HIS OWN EXPENSE, if he is to ever fight in NEVADA again.
Ogawa, had his hearing directly after Canelo. Why are they not requiring Canelo to do the same thing????? Sounds awfully suspicious to me.
What do you all think? Please discuss
Another interesting angle to this. The substance Ogawa tested positive for was the same substance Peterson tested for against Khan, and FOR THE SAME BELT, the IBF belt. With Peterson, an American Haymon fighter, the IBF let Peterson keep the belt, and keep the win over Khan. With Ogawa, whose fight was AGAINST an American fighter, they stripped Ogawa and took away his win.
True but, differences being that Lamont had a doctors backing on his taking of the test
In addition, Ogawa is subject to additional drug testing at his own cost if he is going to fight again in Nevada. Meanwhile, the result of the fight was changed to a no contest, reducing Ogawa's record to 22-1 with 17 knockouts.

but that is good..... and more importantly, fair..... right ?
as-in....
whether you ingested a banned substance intentionally, or accidentally, we can no longer trust you..... now YOU must prove that you are clean if you wish to remain, and compete..... at your own expense
I reckon judge judy would approve of that

This is what Team GGG needs to demand Canelo do for the rematch otherwise they are just as complicit in this as Nevada. They should say they won't fight unless Canelo does this.
brilliant, there it is
that is what should have happened to Canelo
that is exactly what I just said on the other thread

FOund the artlcle, it doesn’t say he’s to go year around testing or vigorous.
No wonder u didn’t provide the link.
Unless he's got a different article the language seems pretty vague.
"In addition, Ogawa is subject to additional drug testing at his own cost if he is going to fight again in Nevada.".
wishful thinking I suppose. It is what should happen.
Thats whats wrong with the sport..if you are a big name you can basically cheat freely, if you ever get caught you can pay the NSAC off and get a slap on the wrist and continue to do so.
You need to add a headline to your post, otherwise people dont even know what its about.

He should be required but he’s the golden child so it is what it is
I find Canelo and his teams attitude since testing dirty pretty f.ucking arrogant and not even trying to prove his innocence TBH
But I guess I shouldn’t be suprised Canelo thinks he’s above the sport and now that he’s been caught you hear rumblings that he’s been suspected of this for years.
Ortiz when he popped against Wilder. He and his team said they would take a hair test to prove their innocence anything that needed to be done . No such claim with Canelo,
They cancel the event and Canelo during the press conference claims Gennady with his recent comments is afraid to fight him not that he made those comments because you failed a drug test and most people in boxing believe you to be a dirty fighter
Didn’t even show up to the hearing to determine his punishment
Hasn’t offered to do year round or increased testing
