the derevyanchenko isnt a shiiit fight
its a mandatory fight
Let me just add, because a fight is mandatory does not mean it isn't a ***** fight. Not saying in the particular case but plenty of mandatory fighters are crap fights.

From a boxing perspective it isn't *****. From a business standpoint it is at the moment. As a fan that's the fight I'd like to see him in, but I'm not going to go crazy if it doesn't happen. Canelo and Saunders are the two guys I want to see Golovkin face this year (assume he beats the first). If Canelo is out then I'd like to see him face another top fighter (Jacobs, Charlo, Derevy).
It is **** fight. Virtually everything left after Canelo was a **** fight. I am just not going to get all bent out of shape who ever he fights on May 5th (if he does).

vanes is a shiiit fight and we all know it and may 5 can still happen just fight a middleweight ffs

loeffler basically admitted that he doesn't have the money or is unwilling to pay the money for a real opponent. So then why the phuk are you fighting on May 5? Cancel the date get a better date more time to promote a June fight. This is on GGG now not Loeffler. He understands this but it's GGG who thinks somehow saying I fought on Cinco De Mayo will turn him into a superstar even if it's a disaster and he's clowned along the way. Look at how bad and quick the narrative has changed. To the point that even long time GGG ballwasher Fat Boy Dan goes on a twitter tirade trashing them for making the Vanes fight. When even Dan is holding his nose in disgust at GGG that should tell you how bad this has gotten.
The short answer, according to Loeffler, is that there's not enough money available from HBO's license fee for Golovkin to fight Derevyanchenko on May 5th— Keith Idec (@Idecboxing) April 12, 2018
Then cancel this whole ****. No one wants to see undersized bums.
Inactive, chubby, super welterweight Vanes is the best they can do? Damn disgrace GGG and team are. Fans should continue to say Hell NO.
Is this real life??
Oh ok. Cool, bro...

I've already explained why it can't happen on May 5th. You know your guy wants too much money to make a short notice fight work. Show needs to make money to happen.
Got a link?
Simple: if the IBF hasnt ordered/mandated it, then he has voluntaries.
And by the way, if GGG chose Sergiy without the IBF mandating it, he would be considered a voluntary opponent. IBF mandate is STILL next in line. Which is Jacobs, Charlo, and Canelo
From what I've seen of Derevyanchenko he's a tough and determined guy who fights aggressively and isn't hard to hit. I would have thought he was made to order for GGG to ktfo after an exciting and entertaining scrap.
exactly, not like a high risk low reward plus you get rid off a mando at the same time...
im with you on this, thats a decent fight but very winnable for ggg, sergie is no monster imo... the only fighters i see going 12 rounds with ggg besides canelo are jacobs and saunders...

Duh, but they can reject an opponent today and order a mandatory tomorrow. Also, this is the IBF. They don't f around. Once they order a mandatory that is the champ's next fight. No step-asides and gimmicks like the others. If g waits for this to be mandated, then he will have to fight Derevyanchenko next, and not on May 5th, but after Derevyanchenko had a full training camp.
Of course they can. What I'm saying is that GGG is in no danger of being stripped for fighting Vanes, unless the IBF have ordered him to fight Derevyanchenko, which hasn't happened yet.
vanes is a **** fight, but... why should they when GGG was supposed to fight canelo and everything was OK. now they are supposed to strip him because he won't fight derevyanchenko in 3 weeks? lol
No, if the IBF orders Derevyanchenko, it won't be on May 5th. They would give Derevyanchenko time for a full training camp.
I think if g fights on May 5th, he is fine. Canelo failed a test and pulled out, and if g still wants to fight then, okay. But the opponent has to be somewhat credible. If g cannot find anyone that fits that bill to sign for May 5th, he will have to cancel the date. And then the IBF could come in and order their mandatory.
Honestly, I do not see why g doesn't fight Derevyanchenko on May 5th. Because g refused Derevyanchenko and now if they fail to get an acceptable opponent for May 5th, he will be ordered to fight Derevyanchenko later in the summer. Which would give Derevyanchenko a full training camp and possibly ruin hopes of a Canelo rematch in September.
Derevyanchenko doesn't stand a chance against g with a full training camp, let alone on three weeks notice. g should just go ahead and get it out of the way. It would shut me and everyone else up, and he still would be fighting a gatekeeper with three weeks notice on May 5th and rematch Canelo or unify with BSJ in the fall.
Who knows what the heck is going on behind the scenes?
Sulaiman is involved too, and no doubt he will be pressing the IBF to delay their mando till after the GGG/Canelo rematch, if that is at all possible.
As a GGG fan, I'm worried by how little confidence Sulaiman and Loeffler seem to have in GGG's ability to get past Derevyanchenko without any mishaps. Could he be showing his age in the gym? This is a guy he would have been expected to steam roller without any problems a couple of years ago.
im with you on this, thats a decent fight but very winnable for ggg, sergie is no monster imo... the only fighters i see going 12 rounds with ggg besides canelo are jacobs and saunders...
The WBC did order the rematch. Now if that fight is off, it is the IBF's turn. I don't see what they would wait for Canelo's hearing for. That fight is off, even if he isn't suspended. I guess they could wait and let g fight some complete joke and then rematch Canelo. But if that is the case, I would think Dereyvanchenko would have a good argument that he should come before Vanes. Vanes!?! Wtf!?!
This makes absolutely zero sense for g. The IBF is next, Derevyanchenko is going to be their mandatory. G is going to have to fight him. Why not take him when g has a full training camp and Derevyanchenko only has three weeks?
I do believe you are right in that, if g signs to fight someone before the mandatory is ordered, I don't think they can strip him. It would be a little ironic if g's next fight is against Derevyanchenko with a full training camp. G better hurry and sign some taxi cab driver or that is what is going to happen.
To me, it makes no sense for Derevyanchenko to want GGG on 3 weeks notice, or for GGG not to want him in those circumstances!
