So we are constantly being told that the heavyweight scene is back to its best and most exciting, but that AJ Parker fight was one of the most average and boring fights.
The heavyweight division has always been the weakest in the sport. It's always been the division where the least talented and skilled guys in the sport fought at, and the division most lacking in depth.
That being said, respect to Joshua for helping bring clarity and structure to the division after the Nandro King Dyson Chewie did everything possible to destroy it.
Talent pool is still underwhelming but the hype its generating right now is reminiscence of the 90's atleast. The Klitchsko brothers never generated hype as much as the potential bout between Wilder-Joshua right now.
It's better than the Wlad era, and it's better than the other really weak era's (Joe Louis bum of the month era, but it's nothing special. We seem to think it is because it's brighter than the dark days that preceded it.
That said, it's still an exciting time for the division, and there are prospects coming.
