Deontay Wilder just pulled out of the deal he had with Skysports as a commentator for the Joshau vs Parker fight and decided to not travel over to the UK.
He recently was calling in to Thaboxingvoice show and when asked who he is going to fight next, either #1 ranked Dillian Whyte or #4 Povetkin.. he suddenly spilled the beans. The host listed all the top 15 ranked fighters for the WBC and Deontay answered "I got plenty names to chose from, it could be Adam Kownacki, thats the guy we were going to fight."
6'3 polish Adam Kownacki, signed with - yeah you guessed it - Al Haymon, ranked #9 by the WBC, another inhouse fight for Deontay Wilder.

Has Deontay Wilder ever fought an opponent (outside of Stiverne) thats not controlled by Al Haymon?

What about Dillian Whyte, what about Povetkin, what about the Ortiz rematch?
You really want wilder to make a real fight and mess up a global event that will make AJ the face of the sport and give the sport the boost it needs?
Just make the fight next.
Wilder fangirls making excuses :D
If he doesn't fight wilder next that is a clear admission that Wilder's power is a concern, which makes sense because Wilder hasn't the skill or boxing IQ to beat AJ IMO.
As New England and others have pointed out, Wilder could really damage AJ with that power. Why not mke a $100 mil before taking the risk if you are AJ?
Again, I completely understand this move if AJ/Hearn do this.
Funny, I recently talked with someone who was raised in Alabama for part of his childhood. He said he bet on Wilder to beat Ortiz because they are "country strong" down South.
I aint talking about PEDs, I'm talking about that fella Russia tried to poison on the park bench, lol. Take our fury out on Povetkin
Mmmm. read poison as peds for some reason lol
I can't see the public targeting sportsman to be honest, but you never know, we boo everyone. I'll be listening in when the announcer says "from Russia..."
There was no booing or anything at the public work-out, and I don't believe too many casuals are in the know about the PED issues of the past.
I can't think of anything worse than a British fighter going to Russia right now as well. AJ could end up as a political prisoner or something lol

Povetkin is the WBA/WBO mandatory and is unavailable.
With Breazeale now pursuing the IBF title, Whyte and Ortiz may end up fighting a WBC final eliminator, with the winner becoming mandatory for Wilder.
So if AJ refuses to fight, Wilder's most logical move is a voluntary against an in house guy while he waits for fans and media to put so much pressure on AJ that Hearn has to cave. Hearn can only delay the fight as long as people allow him to.
I'd love to see Price win. Its going to be good, crowds going to be real hostile for Povetkin, with all this poison stuff going on.
Negotiations between Joshua and Povetkin are going to be interesting. Ryabinsky wants it in Russia, and I've said before hes the only person that could make Joshua fight somewhere he doesn't want to. Could end up we get Joshua/Wilder next so Joshua don't end up going to Russia.

Good fight Joshua vs. Povetkin, although AJ may be just too big. I've got a funny feeling we might get a Tyson-Douglas moment in the Povetkin-Price fight.

WBA have said today he is Joshuas mandatory, and if Joshua doesnt fight Wilder next it has to be Povetkin or theyll strip him.

It's your perception that they are afraid.

Which begs for an answer to why team Joshua keeps blocking a Wilder fight.
We as fans want to see the biggest fights right now. However, those in the game have a different perspective and approach, so we'll just have to wait & see if they come through.
Ok. Well why do AJ/hearn give off the appearance of being afraid of Wilder even though he has such a weak resume and is not as talented or good as AJ?
It's your perception that they are afraid.
I believe AJ will be that next big HW champ in boxing & beating Wilder could help his cause & the sport. However, if Wilder goes out and gets beaten by a lesser fighter, that just proves that he's not all that. The only reason that AJ defeating Wilder can boost him & the sport is because of Deontay's unbeaten record. But those familiar with the sport know his entire record of wins is against bums and one good, but old fighter. My point is, AJ could use a win against Wilder, but if Deontay isn't good enough to stay at the top until they meet, that's his problem.

My point is that there are only 2 fights that add to the hype for this fight. AJ vs Miller, in the US, which builds his name over your side of the pond, and Wilder vs Whyte. Which builds Wilders name over here.
If either guy takes a fight other than those 2, or each other, then it doesnt feel like they are aiming towards the biggun.
Kownacki adds nothing to Wilders resume, does nothing to build the fight.
OK, those are fair points I can't really argue.

What about Anthony Joshua? You know the fight that everyone besides team Joshua wants
Yes you may be right. I said Povetkin is mandatory for the IBF and WBO, but I am mistaken. He is ranked #1 by the WBA and WBO. Not yet a mandatory for either.

Good fighter but seems tailor made for Wilder. Doesn't move much side to side and keeps his hands low. How many rounds before a windmill right catches him behind the ear?
Of course I’m not. You guys all know what I think of Wilder.
Look will I be rooting for him because he is American, of course. But I have no delusions of grandeur. Unless he lands something huge AJ should vanquish him rather easily.
We have a chance to have a real hwt champ ( not wlad who wouldn’t come back to the us after some bums Khtfo) the whole sport will rally around. Someone that can actually be a star and put boxing back ahead of mma.

I think Breazeale'll fight against Pulev for IBF title eliminator. This issue will be announced in April.
