Anyone who asks a question like that, is someone who is still learning about boxing.
Allow me to take you to school for a minute
In boxing, when you face a brawler with a powerful punch such as GGG, you don't fight him toe to toe because most likely, you'll end up getting tagged.
You need to make him fight outside his comfort zone and take him to school there with a little bit of this and a little bit of that but never in the pocket.
Mayweather Jr was good at this.
Now, if you yourself are a brawler, you need to learn how to cut the ring so that you unleash wrath on your opponent when you rope or corner him. Because like I said before; ain't nobody with ring smarts going to fight you where you are strongest, they're going to box the sh! out of you and hope for the best. Boxing is never about I'll hit you then you hit me. No.
It's about I'll hit you and I'll get away from your punches. That's the name of the game
I agree he was outboxing him easily, but the time he took off he gave GGG hope...The gap in skill and class was very apparent...
But he lost the fight 8-4 to most people so?
Clearly he didn't dominate 1-3 and 10-12 as some of you want to make out.
Really? You can also read i'm racist against whites, blacks, mexicans and all types of other ****. Butthurt people make up ****.

The gap in skill and class have to last more than a few seconds. Skill and class have to last the whole fight. Canelo has better hand speed than Golovkin. That's his major advantage. He still landed less punches than Golovkin. Could not stop the jab, gave up the center of the ring where he was having some success, didn't counterpunch off the ropes. His power punches were ineffective against Golovkin. Golovkin is simply the better overall fighter.
Canelo was beating him on speed and seemed to think he was beating him on defense. Thing is, you don't win on defense. Canelo did what Peterson did to Garcia and became so enamored with his own skill and being the better boxer that he didn't put in the output he should have.
His corner knew he was fuking up but he didn't listen to them.

Same reason a gazelle goes in reverse when it sees a lion: survival instinct. If Canelo fights more aggressively in the rematch, he will get TKO'd or KO'd, so I expect him to fight in the exact same manner (assuming no further suspension) while hoping for a bigger gift from the judges this time around. It will be up to GGG to adjust if he wants to win.
For the most part I agree with this. However I see Canelo making an adjustment by tieing GGG up on the inside to conserve energy.
I hope GGG beats the carrot juice out of this cheating fool; and the only way I see this is for GGG to go full throttle this time as supposed to giving the earlier rounds away to Alvaroid.
This is a troll thread by a known troll, but the answer is none of those.
Why stand and trade with a big puncher when you can dance around him / run and outbox him?
FWIW I think GGG won. Canelo is the better pure boxer but GGG outworked him. It's one thing to be more technical but if you get out landed / outworked then you lose. Simple.
Canelo could not solve Golovkin's jab. It was always there in his face and he could not take the pressure. He thought he could bob and weave on the ropes then counterpunch. Golovkin was too smart and took power off his shots and scored points. He got out thought..Either way stamina or punches that made him go back it was a bad move going to the ropes. It's obvious now that Canelo can't outbox Golovkin. He has to use his hand speed to overwhelm him then get out. Canelo will get tired.

Because he could counter him and land the bigger shots and could make him miss a huge amount of punches. Anyone would settle for a landed jab against them compared to power shots.
Canelo is a counter puncher and GGG comes forward. It’s simple. It’s like saying why GGG didn’t throw body shots. Or why Canelo doesnt throw as many shots as Margarito.
Canelo fought that way because it was effective. Likewise for GGG. They both fought good fights and tried to minimize the best in the other.
Canelo’s stamina is clearly good enough to “back peddle” so it’s not stamina related. “Back peddling” takes a lot of energy. I dont get it. :/
Does Lara fight in the backfoot because he has no stamina?
Styles make fights.Back peddling takes less energy than going forward and throwing punches. Lara often runs to avoid getting hit just as Canelo did. Both Lara and Canelo stopped back peddling and landed good punches occasionally in their respective fights with each other and GGG. That doesn't change that Lara retreated most of the fight with Canelo and Canelo retreated much of the fight with GGG. When Canelo fought Lara he went forward every second of every round. He fought GGG completely differently because of GGG's power and work rate.
