Rumors that HBO turned down Andrade vs Derevyanchenko

Charlo iirc. But he's had a ton of dumb lil mishaps & bs thats f#cking up fights & his career in general. You could write a solid Playboy caliber feature length article about the bs with Andrade outside the ring & lots of it just seems to come down to him being kinda f#cking stupid &/or making bad decisions. shame... he's got talent and quite a lot of charisma. He could have been a minor PPV fighter imo but it's prob too late for him now.

Lara vs Andrade wasn't made. Lara vs Gausha was. Nobody blamed Showtime or Haymon. They blamed Andrade. This time they blame HBO, not Andrade. You could see that people pretty much have their own network allegiances in this board. It's nauseating.

HBO would be stupid to turn down a legit fight like this. They've picked up some real garbage over the past few years, this is a real one.

Don't even know why some posters are mentioning Showtime. He was loitering around in the Showtime/PBC premises for months, yet wasn't offered anything despite the many number of fighters PBC has. Kills me.

I'd like to see a source. Otherwise it could just be fake news.

Showtime can't pick it up? This is a good fight if nobody wants to pick it up that is a serious problem

Andrade is signed with HBO right? So if they passed on the fight he can't fight Derevyanchenko on Showtime? That's what doesn't make sense, he's still got 2 fights on hbo. I assume this is just nonsense

Yea trust me I know. I call him the dumbest guy in boxing outside of James Kirkland. If I saw a "Boxer shoots himself in the foot" headline my assumption is its a high % chance its Andrade related. What's he turned down before? I always thought he was just one of those unlucky guys signed to a cr*ppy promoter.

Both fighters had agreed to the fight & I assume some generic $ terms/% details. It was up to HBO from there. Maybe one or both did price themselves out IF it got turned down, but Andrade was for sure willing to take the fightHe has a track record of this occurring, I'm not blindly putting blame on him.

What's up with Andrade fights always falling thru. He letting his career go to waste.

HBO was pushing to make this for the undercard of Saunders-Lemieux..why would they turn it down? If anything, Andrade either priced himself out or outright turned it down.

Either one or both of them wanted huge money HBO couldn't afford. Give them cab drivers and they'll say yes at the drop of a hat. Especially Andrade.

Would be extremaly disappointing... Anyway - if HBO did turn it down then it must be due to money demands of the fighters(Andrade in particular) - as Peter Nelson was the one who came out with idea of this match-up in the first place, from what I've heard.
