My original thought is yeah, but i would like to hear your thoughts,'m interested because if joshua hit wilder like Ortiz has hit him, would he have knocked him out?
What a cercle jerk thread.
AJ has speed and accuracy, he is a big man and will hurt his opponents with those counters. A lot of his stoppages is the ref jumping in. Ortiz is heavy handed with technic, he planted himself well and knows what to throw. Ortiz might be the powerful puncher but AJ's technic will get him the same result
Whyte can is way tougher than Allen.
Not so sure about that considering Helenius rocked him in their fight, Allen is known for having a granite chin, he's AJ's sparring partner.
The fight was not competitive at all, it got stopped in 7 rounds because Allen's health was in danger. Allen is 6'3 250lbs and durable, it took AJ a similar amount of time to stop Whyte except Ortiz was nowhere close to getting rocked in his fight.

I should on HBO,ESPN but on SHOW I really like Paulie Malignaggi.I think he is REAL good and will make hall of fame someday(commentater not boxer)
This is a bulls**t. Ortiz had competetive fight with David Allen & couldn't drop him. And David Allen is British level boxer at his best.

You mean threw himself to the floor multiple times? He was literally looking to get out of that fight but Ortiz still couldnt get the job done. I think Wilder, Ortiz and Joshua have all had their power somewhat overhyped. I'm confident Foreman, Shavers etc hit harder. But in terms of power between Joshua and Ortiz, Joshua hits harder.
No, there were around 4 legitimate knock downs. Scott is a really good defensive fighter from Philly, he's just a mental midget. When Scott fought Chisora he was arguably ahead on the scorecards and could've pulled off a decision before an early stoppage from the ref.
Foreman and Shavers fought in an era littered with 6'0 heavies, closer to modern day cruisers than the super heavies of today. A big guy is generally going to be more durable than a small guy at HW simply due to weight just like what made Foreman's chin so good. Even Shavers, 6'0 210lbs at his peak, that's really really small for today's era. Guys like David Allen are 6'3 250lbs and carry a ton of muscle.
AJ and him hit about the same according to one sparring partner. However AJ is more active and hits you more. If Ortiz can make Wilder a bit shakey, then AJ certainly can.
AJ hits noway near as hard as either.
Its all good Scott ran, Allen got 7yrs shaved off his career in 7 rounds but remained upright but who has AJ displayed this power against who hadn't already lost in far better fashion?
If Ortiz hit Sprott that clean you genuinely believe Sprott takes it? Or Skelton etc
He forces stoppages with his opponents still upright, barrages until a U.K ref jumps in. Ortiz opponents are out or unable to get back to their feet and that's single shot power. Look what he did to Jennings a guy who took Wlads shots with no issue. He starched Thompson, Allen guys nobody has beaten in better fashion. AJs doing nothing others ain't before.
He not only hits harder he has better timing to.
Takam could've gone 12 but they stopped it early.
Scott got dropped/dominated multiple times after running around the ring the whole night and Allen got brutalized in 7 rounds.

Competitive?
Dillian Whyte couldn't put him down either yet almost knocked AJs head off.
In terms of raw power I don't think so. I've not really seen AJ put anyones lights out or put them down for the count. I'm not saying he can't punch I just don't think he's has true one punch power.
Ortiz is very heavy handed when he lands on anything almost every opponent has a look on their face as if to say WTF? The guys landing on arms and gloves and moving big HWs.
AJ is a boxer-puncher, Ortiz a counterpuncher, AJ has and will get more stoppages because of his style but in terms of one punch power, Ortiz hits harder and he carries his power better.

Whats funny is Wilder hurt him at same time. That idiot Rannelo said that at end of 9th when Ortiz did not even land(wilder just stumped over his lead foot)and missed it when it did happen.Whats also kinda odd is Wilder did not look hurt after 1st shot but Ortiz deff did but he seen it(Ortiz)and came back with 2nd that really hurt Wilder.I really don't like Rannelo but Paulie MORE then makes up for it.

rannelo needs some clenbuteral in order to step his game up
I don't think Luis Ortiz has particularly awe-inspiring power. He just caught Deontay Wilder sweet at the right time. It's a case of the punches you don't see hurting you. Wilder was too busy trying to get his own off he walked right onto a combo. Anthony Joshua definately has the power to put Wilder on the seat of his pants in a situation like that. I'd say when it comes to raw power, hitting someone clean on the chin, Joshua has more power than Ortiz.

You guys have clearly not been paying attention to these fights, AJ has been hurting guys early (As early as the 1st round) in many of recent fights, BUT!!! still takes multiple rounds to finish it. So saying he would finish Wilder after hurting him like what happened in the 7th of the Ortiz fight, is not following the recent pattern of his fights.
