Mayweather is done, gets whooped by the top guys at 147 at this point. I'd still be interested in seeing Ward try to make a run at CW or try to poach a HW belt
Floyd, because I always enjoyed watching him fight.
Ward on the other hand, with all due respect, was dreadful to watch.
I'd rather watch Wlad hug and one-two over Ward.
Tough question. Neither were one of my favorite fighters but respected them both and always watched their fights.
Liked watching Floyd’s fights more for sure. I think people are a bit too hard on him always saying his style is boring, especially when you compare it to Ward’s whose style actually was boring IMO (besides the Kov fights). The constant clinching style Ward/Hopkins/Wlad used was an eyesore even though I’m too much of a boxing fan to not always tune in when they fight.
Honestly I think we most likely see both Floyd and Andre make at least one more ring appearance.
Neither of them. Mayweather is old and would embarrass himself against any of the top guns now. Ward can and may still come back but his style of fighting, I can't just stand. I like him outside the ring, and respect his accomplishment in the ring but I think he fights dirty and lost at least 1 of the 2 fights against Kovalev (the 1st).
I'd lean towards Mayweather assuming his fight wouldn't be against McGregor or another farcial bout.
I'd pick Ward if he came back to fight Kovalev x 3 in Russia with a Russian ref.
grandpa Floyd has nothing to prove. if he loses at 41 the haters will throw a parade. nobody cares about being past prime when it comes to Floyd. apparently he has been in his prime for 20 years straight.
and Ward already beat the scary boogeyman. he's good to stay retired. all these clowns crying rivers are the same mofos who predicted Ward would've never faced Quitvalev in the first place. said he would fake an injury. now they're saying the scary boogeyman needed help from a ref in a fight where he said he would end the opponent's career. lol.
Quitvalev quit like a hoe. notice he never protested the stoppage. a true sign of a boxer who wanted a way out. a true coward's exit strategy. Ward snatched his soul now Quitvalev must be Ward's slave in the afterlife.
Ward, most definitely.
Mayweather is a well compensated sideshow fighter at this point. Mayweather-Pac robbed idiots blind, and so did Mayweather-McG. His sole purpose in boxing is to bleed stupid people of their money. Which is fine - if you're dumb enough to buy fights like that, then complain afterwards, you don't deserve to hold onto your money anyway.
Ward, on the other hand..love him or hate him..takes Russian souls just for fun.
Ward's last fight was one of the most pathetic endings I've ever seen & if the tables were turned there would be no sympathy, probably an overturned result.
I'd take one of Floyd's silly fights with some MMA guy over that. At least it left us laughing instead of disgusted.
Personally, I'd take Mayweather's refined skills and poetry in motion than awkward, messy boring Ward. Thanks.
Yea but Ward can still fight the best in the division. I’ve said it a million times, I’m just very critical of his career. He’s way too talented to win fights like he did against Kov.
Personally, I'd take Mayweather's refined skills and poetry in motion than awkward, messy boring Ward. Thanks.
Is neither an option?
As much as I dislike Floyd and would’ve liked to have seen him lose in his prime. I don’t want to see Floyd lose to guy he would’ve dealt with in his prime like an SRL-Norris situation. And I certainly don’t want to see him make a mockery of this sport vs McGregor again!
As for Ward, there’s not really a fight out there involving him that excites me. Could he still have success in boxing? sure. Do I want to see it? Not really. He was never a fighter I enjoyed watching in or out the ring tbh.
Floyd. I respect Floyd's arsenal, he can box and bang (not so much at 147) but Ward is horrible to watch. Floyd in the 2nd Maidana fight was bad to watch too.
I still think Maidana had a win in the first fight. Floyd got his ass kicked, he underestimated Maidana.
ward...he's closer to his prime. plus there's a bunch of potential good fights for him at lhw. mayweather is 41...he would probably steer clear of the best guys at ww, so what's the point?
