Admittedly i picked Jnr to win so credit where its due but i still think Groves is ripe for the taking, he still looked like a deer in the headlights every time jnr got inside (the reff let him hold at will) and still nearly got stopped in the final round against a very raw, wild and sloppy Jnr.
I personally think a raw 21 year old Benavidez would smash him to bits.
Zurdo is feather fisted but has a granite jaw and is far too big.
I would make Jacobs and Golovkin favorites against him too.
am i just a hater of the saint?
Possibly because he was ready for it?
Was he though? I didn't see the rematch but his first fight for the vacant belt was tough.
Just seemed like a bit of opportunism from his handlers when that Smith/Dirrell fight went by the wayside.
It will be interesting to see who he fights. But maybe you're right and he is that special. I do think there is a chance that youngsters like that can just come up against someone who just knows more
I think Groves would iron out James now. Put him down and stop him.
James looked done in his last fight. I've never even seen this Zurdo fight which is odd. All I know is that he's tall.
That Benavidez is very young. I doubt he's on Groves radar but if he did end up there with George he'd be getting thrown to the lion at a very young age.
Why were they so desperate to get him a world title that kid? Just seems a bit odd. Massive rush.

Ok so we just have to different views on the guy, and I can see what your saying but I personally think he can compete with most guys in the division
Fair enough man, agree to disagree 👍🏻
I’ve honestly never rated him,
I hate this perception that’s he’s some sort of highly skilled fighter because he’s awkward and unorthodox.
I think Jack beat him pretty clearly. Based off his last two fights I doubt he can even be competitive with Groves, Zurdo etc. I think any of the top guys at 168 should beat him comfortably.
I’d even pick Eubank Jr to beat him.

Very true, He beat a dirrell and arguably beat Jack (thought Jack did enough to win) and held a belt for some time. I'm not calling him elite, but he can compete with the best in the world and in my opinion that makes him world class. The truax fight was off nearly a year lay off, and if he get he rematch I fully expect him to take it more seriously and beat him

DeGale is bang average. Flat footed, easy to hit, mentally weak etc etc. “World class” fighters don’t get the sh*t beat out of them by Caleb Truax.

Yea I hear you, think degale is world class but I think groves has his number. Both guys tend to face an i think groves has more power to end the fight. If they fought i would pick groves but can easily see degale get a decision. All the fights you mentioned could probably go eitherway, I just don't feel confident picking degale after that fight with traux

Groves ICES Benavidez I’ll bet a lot of money on that if that fight happens. Benavidez is a hype job IMO, he’d walk into that Groves right hand as well. Easy KO for Groves IMO.
I don’t think he’d beat GGG due to lack of stamina although I think he causes him problems early.
Zurdo would be a real 50/50 fight.
He beats the rest on the list, definitely beats DeFail(Again) and Smith.
Groves is one of those guys who hets no hype, and probably never will. He is capable of beating anyone at 168, and it would be a joke to suggest that any Middleweight could move up and beat him.
Although degale nearly got knocked out agaisnt that dude out of Sin city (forgot his name) i still think he beats groves.
Degales inside game is still very good, & Groves still cannot fight for **** on the inside, if the reff doesnt let him headlock and clinch like in the Jnr fight, hes screwed imo.
yes its an overused cliche but styles really make fights and i see degale beating him on points.
Jacobs is a pick em fight, would love to see it.

He would win half of these fights
Vs Callum i'd slightly favour groves, Benavidez because he's too inexperienced and he already beat DeGale
Vs Jacobs could go either way
Would lean slightly towards Zurdo and For sure GGG to beat hin
He beats degale and jacobs, him and smith will be a good one. Think the rest beat him

I know sparring is sparring but one of Groves previous opponents brought up how GGG dummied him in sparring and groves didn't deny it said he was under the weather coming off a long flight or something.

Yeah, because everyone knows he only had one arm in the last round and he was nowhere near being stopped, but hate away..
