I'm sure the majority of people would pick Tommy by Ko, but Jermell Charlo is a special fighter with rare talent. Based off the eye test he might be the most talented natural Super Welterweight of all time. This would be an instant classic. Right now I would favor Hearns but in the future I would favor Charlo.
A prime Hearns knocks him out quickly in my opinion. It's an all time great against an average champion.
Yep charlo is nothing special,he’s a decent counter puncher at closer range but sucks at long range as a taller guy in the division. no defense and done nothing at the top level yet other than weight bullying a much smaller derevyanchenko, let’s see how he does against top talents first before compare him to golden age atg like hearns.
Basically that is what I meant. He snapped that jab, used a power jab, jabbed from his waist or flick it. He was such an under rated boxer because of that power in the right hand
But he never dominated a natural Super Welterweight like Charlo
An educated jab? The dude had, and this is universally known by all real boxing historians, one of if not the best jab of all time. Plus his plain boxing skill ranks as one of the best of all time too. Add all that together with his nuclear right hand and you get what Hearns was. A top 10 fighter of all time.

I think it could be very interesting. I just wonder if Charlo might freeze up a bit in there with Hearns and be neutralized into a cautious fight while Tommy piles up the rounds.
Tommy ALL WRONG for Charlo. He could not outbox him and he is not a hunter type inside fighter so he would be fuked. And I really like Charlo I think he could BECOME an ATG but that time has not come yet.
Stop this weight bullying ****. If you make the weight, you made it period. If you make it too tight it will have an adverse effect on your performance.
Plus you're twisting information and making it seem like something it isn't. In 1986 he still came back and won the 154lb belt after losing to Hagler. That is 9 years after turning pro and he could still perform 7 pounds north of where he started his career. Yes in 87 he fought Dennis Andries for the light-heavy belt, but in no way was Hearns a 175lber. He just knew it was a guy he could pick off for another belt in another weight class, because he was that damn talented!
The fact that he moved back down to middlweight in the same year and won another belt tells you where he was size wise. He didn't fight at 175lbs again until 91, 14 years after turning pro.
Moving up 28lbs in 14 years is remarkable, but not anything we haven't seen from special fighters before and after.
Nice points also some guys have the build to put on more weight and some don't.It don't mean one is better then other on that alone.
He was draining himself..look how quick he jumped in weight
turned pro in 77 and by 82 he moved up. and by 87 he was as high as 175.this isnt rocket science he was huge!!!

Tommy would box his ears off..
Purely technical boxing, hearns is top 5 all time. Nobody ever outboxed hearns.
Charlo would have a puncher’s chance
I agree. You had to hurt Hearns if you didn't it's a sure lose. He out boxed Benitez who was a defensive wizard. A lot is made of Tommy's power but he was an elite boxer. Just a fantastic fighter..
Hearns ended up at cruiser sooooooooo wasnt he a weight bully?
That weight bully sh ite is for the birds. If you can make the weight and it don't hurt you then that's your weight. Some guys like Hit Man have the body type to add more weight as he did but if there fightin below their weight it hurts your stamina, chin so guys that put on a lot of weight it will come back and get them at some point.Toney vs Tiberi was a fight where Toney was dead at weight so the sword cuts both ways.

I think its WAY to quick to say Charlo is most talented guy RIGHT NOW even by the eye test. And same for matching him with THE HIT MAN who was prob at his best at 54.Andrade was at LEAST as talented as Charlo I know he just moved to 60 but he was a much better Am and was a bigger prospect coming into pros.Charlo is very good but sloooooow down. One more thing Hearns was nearly impossible to outbox and Charlo is not the puncher his last few fights made him look.

You understand I was talking about him in actually fights not weigh ins? Why would he fight drained? He had to weigh in the same day as the fight, it wouldn't make sense to try and cut more then a hand full of pounds, the guy eventually moves up weight because I'm sure he had to eat practically nothing to stay at those lower weightshttps://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m54cmltee11qiz7luo1_400.jpghttps://tse2.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.LSbPI7rPpakHR6gzZXqUKAHaJo&pid=15.1 kids in africa weigh more then what he did
Height and length don't equate to weight. Goo look at pics of him from welter weight, the guy looked completely malnourished. He looked sickly, but all you look at is his frame which means nothing when we are discussing weight.

Man he was huge at his weight, why even try to argue this...seriously why??

1883 they stopped doing same day weigh in, Hearn s was a jr middleweight by then, he wasn't cutting the weight like fighters do today. And just because he eventually moves up to cruiserweight that doesn't mean when he fought at the lower weights he was out weighing guys
Man he was huge at his weight, why even try to argue this...seriously why?? I mean he was a light heavyweight by 30 and we are talking about 154

Hearns would spark both Charlo brothers WTF. They are not special they are huge weight bullies that went life and death to a past his prime trout.
