Ariza took Pacquiao from a scrawny Featherweight to a monster Welterweight with KO power, beating and stopping the likes Cotto, Oscar, Hatton, Margarito, etc.
Ariza also turned Maidana from a gatekeeper into a hulking KO machine, Maidana destroyed Broner and gave Mayweather hell in the 1st fight with Ariza's help.
Ariza also worked with Mayweather for the Pacquiao fight, and helped him beat Pacquiao.
What's even more obvious:
Manny was never the same after Roach began to limit Ariza's influence on Manny and eventually fired him.
Maidana also didn't do as well in the 2nd Mayweather fight when Ariza was not there, having been fired by Robert Garcia.
Floyd himself said that Ariza was a huge asset to Pacquiao's camp, that's why he took Ariza under his wing.
None of Ariza's fighters ever get outworked. They may be outskilled, but they are always in peak physical condition.
Why does this guy keep getting fired though? Clearly what he does works?
If he is that good, why didn't he produce another Manny when he left?
People like Ariza are a dime a dozen. He happened to be simply at the right time and at the right place when Pac was peaking. Had nothing to do with Ariza. Manny is/was Manny.
It would have been Fortuna or somebody and the same credit would have been given.
I don't like Ariza at all.
He is the type of guy who should be in the background, handling the S&C stuff only.
But many people have said he thinks he is a bigger player - giving tactical advice etc.
Clearly he is driven by ego, and I think he is highly disruptive and two faced in camps.
There are plenty of decent S&C trainers around, why bother taking a risk with a snake like Ariza?
Ariza's reputation was tarnished by butthurt Floyd fans
Despite the fact there's never been any proof that he's a PED dealer
unlike Memo Heredia or Victor Conte who were tried as criminals, for giving PEDs to athletes in the Olympics
anyway, Ariza is one of the best s/c coaches in the world, if not THE best
He seems to be difficult to work with, a case of bad personality. that's most likely the reason he keeps getting fired
