The guy held the title last year and we have so called fan boys saying he's not ready to face lomo and that champions should not face other champs. Since when was a former champ young and in his prime not ready? Ranked 4th in his division by ring. Why have boxing fans turned into such manginas?
Can someone link me to where Davis says he's not ready, in those words, ready? Has he said that exactly?
not really. but i'll tell you more. he will never mumble that he is Ready.
Nobody at 135 or less can beat Lomachenko. Does that mean they'll never be ready for him
Correct.
and shouldn't fight him.
They should fight him if it's in their best interest to fight him. People take fights all the time they know they'll likely lose. They do it because they need the money or it's the best move for their career.
LMAOOO. You're becoming good at ducking.
By the way, you cherrypicked the youngest heavyweight champ to add into your agenda. Great job.
Spinks was such a monster.
No, but seriously. Where was the pound for pound champ in the division that Tyson should have been pushed to meet, because last I checked, he paid Lennox Lewis step aside money to avoid him in '96. I'm just saying.
Ducking, nah. Just tired of repeating myself.

i made this exact same stat last year and got cooked.......good luck.....
Anything that Floyd, or related to the name Mayweather "thinks" - I'd do the exact opposite.
Everything that dude has touched has gone defunct - his rap label (LOL so stereotypical), his lottery soda (LOL)...
Hell, he was broke after 2 years fighting Pacquiao. And it sounds like he's desperate for money again just after making another few hundred million (well, likely after taxes, closer to 100 and some change) not even a year ago hahah.
The only upside is to pitch him to the type of fans who like Broner.. But these types of fans can't afford tickets to fights, and have to pitch in like 20 deep to buy PPVs.
Ever notice that despite Floyd constantly fighting in his backyard of Las Vegas, his opponent ALWAYS had more fans live in attendance? LOOOL
lol@you thinkin floyd is/was broke after pac fight...he hasnt even seen a dime from that fight yet...hes still getting paid for fights before that...he takes monthly checks instead of lump sums
So Canelo was green, but Tank is not...because of amateur matches?
If you want to combine amateur and professional matches, Mayweather had 47 more bouts than Canelo.
Lomachenko had 169 more bouts than Davis.
How many amateur bouts did JCC have? How about Roberto Duran? How about James Toney? You can be great without a ton of amateur experience. But also you can have tons of amateur experience and not quite pan out.
How the hell can you argue that Davis is more ready for Lomachenko than Canelo was for Mayweather? Are you serious?
Simple question. Do you think Mayweather's amount of experience over Canelo is a larger gap than Lomachenko's experience over Davis?
Yawn! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
youre underestimating quigg.....
No, I'm properly rating him. You are pretending for the sake of arguing, like you did when citing Margaret Court.
hahaha you are making me laugh!
I felt Tank should fight Salido or Macahdo next. I think those are step up fights before he can consider a Berchelt or Loma.
Salido would be a good opponent next seeing how it looks he's starting to age. After that someone like Corrales, machado, roman, even ogawa would be great fights. Berchelt might be to much of a high risk low reward situation at the moment. He has plenty of options but this is boxing, making fights isn't so easy. I'd be thrilled to see him fight two of these guys before he eventually moves up
quiggs a class fighter, dont be surprised if he beats valdez.
hahahaha. Dramashow. you don't think Quigg is going to beat Valdez. LMFAO!
Man, just admit it. Floyd is doing the right thing with Tank. He's doing the same thing other promoters are doing with their young, still developing titleholders.
But its Floyd so you guys gotta do this.
hahahah you wont be surprised if Quigg beats Valdez.
Just the modern mentality of protecting the 0 at all cost. Its not as if he's expected to win, considering how badly other fighters have done against lomachenko, if Davis landed a few good shots and didn't quit his stock would probably go up. I don't know why these fighters Are so terrified of losing, it's not done canelo or lomachenko any harm. No doubt in a couple of years we'll get a wilder esque rant about racism being the reason he's not a superstar.
Do you feel the same about Oscar Valdez?
Absolutely, if all the young guys took the path of lubin I'd be willing to bet the outcome would Always be somewhat similar. I believe in this sport you should take your time for experience and confidence. this is a business and usually taking your time and being patient pays off in the long term. They guys pushing for this fight have to come to terms it just doesn't make sense for tank to fight loma, and I really think loma is the exception. If tank didn't want to fight someone like berchelt, machado, or Corrales then I would have a problem.

He isn't ready but he never will be. Loma is on a whole different level and Davis will probably never be able to defeat him, no matter what their respective ages or experience is.
He also had over 200 amateur fights. So he has plenty of ring experience. More than Canelo when he got in the ring with Floyd at 23. More than Tyson when he was champ at age 20. Gervonta is adopting Floyd's cherry-picking ways from his mentor, and he wants to preserve that zero in the loss column at all costs.
I agree that Tank could learn alot. I also agree Loma destroys Tank right now.
Now, for the record, I wasn't upset by the Lubin/Charlo matchup. So I am using hindsight and I am being somewhat hypocritical.
I just think Floyd is doing with Tank what Bob is doing with Valdez. They are young guys that got "promoter assisted" titles (if you know what I mean) in favorable matchups. They both are solid draws in their home base (Baltimore, Phoenix) of fans. They are slowly being moved to the bigger stages.
If building a draw equates to ducking by some fans, so be it.

Well first off, i agree with pretty much everything you said. I have no interest in watching the fight because I know what the outcome would be. I think people should let this go and forget it. I do believe if you are at the top of the division you should challenge yourself.Win or lose tank could learn alot from fighting someone like loma, but the chance of getting humiliated is something that will draw a lot of guys away. We should all just drop this tank and loma fight, it doesn't make sense but you can see why guys are calling for it
