A World Champion Belt Holder must make THREE World Title defences during a 12 Month Calander Year including one defence against the Mandatory Number 1 and one defence against a Top 10 Opponent.
If a World Champion does not fulfill his Three defences a Year, they will be stripped of their World Title unless they provide Medical records/Written Notifcation of any Injuries or Family Bereavements that prevent them from fulfilling their required number of defences per year.
WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO will Remain but every TWO years, all World Champion Belt Holders must face each other to create an UNDISPUTED CHAMPION in their Weight Class.
Once an Undisputed Champion is Crowned, all Belts become vacant.
What do you guys think?
It's time to tweak the Boxing Weight Classes and some Rules.
One of the biggest things boxing has going for it is the history and tradition. I think it would be a mistake to change the weight limit of any of the divisions other than maybe cruiserweight (which has little history or tradition to begin with). But the welterweight champion of the world in 2018 should weigh the same as the welterweight champion of the world from 1968.

There's no such thing as a regular title. What needs to be eliminated is the WBA's super titles. As for eliminating interim titles, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to that. But when the champion is legitimately hurt, do you really want a legendary title reign ended because you named the champion "champion in recess" instead of crowning an interim champion?
What needs to be ended is the abuses of creating interim titles, which honestly in recent years has been curtailed quite a bit. Interim titles aren't the massive problem they were five years ago.

Okay now you're living in a dream world. The big stars fighting twice a year has been the standard for decades at this point. Even if they wanted to fight three times a year, there aren't enough TV dates.
If your going to do this their also needs to be a hydration test to make sure that they both make the weight AND they are hydrated.
Yes, I thought about that too. Fighters would have to pass real medical tests with hydration tests.
Same day weigh ins? Pre fight weigh ins!

Exactly.
I really don't see how any modern Athlete can't fight 3 times a year.
If like Thurman, they're injured they should have to give up their titles but allowed a future title shot when they're fit again.
yes some good thoughts there
Exactly. I am all for pre fight weigh ins but many fights would be cancelled and money lost. but fighters would have to adjust knowing pre fight weigh in. I also like defending title 2-3 times a years against the best. anyone like Thurman etc that barely fight once a year should be put on the bottom of the pile and have to fight their way back up the ranks
Exactly.

why even change the weight classes leave them be....
I would use more of universal naming of the weight classes and belts...
for example...
super welterweight = light middleweight
we know that but for someone who doesnt really follow boxing that would throw them off imo...
Also the belts have to remain at one belt per sanctioning body who is officially recognized by the ibhof.....
WBA
WBC
IBF
WBO
and then there's THE RING belt.......
imo what there needs to be is a universal boxing body to control those belt organizations (imo should be the ibhof that comes up with that)
must fight one mando per year if you only have ONE to two belts
must fight TWO mandos per year if you have more than 2 belts etc
NO STEP ASIDE FEES AT ALL!
and so on and so on.....
Basic problem is that every one is going to want different changes.
that's going to the well way too much. 120 world title fights a year is insanity. It's like having a "big" PPV every two weeks, people will just wait for the next one.
More World title fights is actually great for the boxing market.
It's actually the main reason Boxing is Booming at the moment globally especially in the 18-49 market and the ufc is declining in that market.
You have to remember there's around 20-30 World Title Fights a year in Japan that hardly get shown outside of that country.
The UK also has 20-30 World Title fights, half of them never get shown in America.
Other Markets too like the Mexican, Thailand, Ukraine, Russia etc that have World Title Fights also don't get shown in America.
You can go **** yourself for eliminating Cruiserweigt
Cruiserweight becomes Light Heavyweight and therefore becomes much more marketable as a weight class to the American market.
Plus the extra 10 lbs would attract some of the smaller Heavyweights to it.
Boxing having 4 World Title Belts is actually a good thing for helping boxing grow around the world.
Broadcasters want to be able to sell their program with a WORLD TITLE FIGHT and if you had 15 Weight Divisions x 4 World Title Belts and at least 2 Defences a Year, that alone could produce 120 World Title Fights a year.
Every two years, i would have a unification tournament where all the belt holders have to fight each other to produce ONE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION so at least we do get to know who the best is in each division.

What do you guys think?
Why every 2 years? There seems to be some unwritten rule in boxing that several years need to pass before beltholders face each other and anyone saying otherwise is branded naive or lacking business acumen.
Well i actually do think there needs to be a bit of time for fights to build up and some of the newer champions to get more experience.
Once every two years to crown a Undisputed Champion would basically means there's also at least half the weight divisions going through the tournament.

Why don't we just go back to the original 8 weight classes, add Cruiser, Heavy weight than Super heavy and same day weigh so we don't have guys weighing 20 pounds over the contract weight .

I like this. The 25 pound jump from LHW to CW is too much as it is, no-one can put on 11kg of muscle in any short amount of time.

I love the tournament. All in favor of this. The fighters who make excuses or choose not to unify will be stripped of their belts. It's time to make the best fight the best or get out of the way.
With the divisions, there are too many. I'd rather have this:
Heavyweight: 201 and up
Cruiserweight: 176-200
Light Heavyweight: 161-175
Middleweight: 148-160
Welterweight: 136-147
Lightweight: 127-135
Featherweight: 119-126
Bantamweight: 113-118
Flyweight: 112 and below
Elimination of the extra weight divisions will increase the competition in each division, giving us better fighters and better fights. There have been too many hype jobs because the said fighter is in a weak division and running it but at the same time, with fewer divisions, the fighter would be given a real test much more quickly, showing us what he's really made of outside of a highlight reel with him blowing through weak opposition. It looks good, but it doesn't mean much when that fighter faces a real opponent and gets picked apart.
I'm all for changes in the game, including returning to same day weigh-ins, open scoring and 15 rounders coming back, at least for the finals in the tournaments. Gotta give the most important fights another selling point, along with modern fighters proving themselves able to go 15 like the fighters of old. Would probably only happen on PPV though as time constricts things on TV.
I like your weight classes. All the traditional weight classes are there and many of the new ones we never really needed are gone. Cruiserweight is there for good fighters who can't make 175 and don't want to fight giants. Same day weigh ins would end the problems that rule created.
