It's like the only big fighter at 147 who might fight Spence soon, is Crawford after he wins the WBO title. Keith "Sometimes" Thurman will call him out in 2019, Shawn "Go Time" Porter's hiding under Thurman's WBC belt, Snackuiao's trying to fight Lomachenko, and Danny "Gift" Garcia's putting in work on the cherry orchard.
All jokes aside, Spence is big at 147, so he might have to move up if he can't get a big fight. I think his latest match might've hurt his chances even more.
The division is pretty bare so Spence/Thurman should be quick and easy to make. TC cant fight him because of obvious promoter issues, which is sad really.
Spence needs to stay right at 147 and keep scoring KOs.
There is no need to move up when he hasn’t unified or cleaned out the division. Either his rivals fight him or they should go find a new division.
Or they could try to wait until he gets old but it’s a long wait.
I'm not blaming Thurman for not fighting Spence. I'm pointing out his hypocrisy & how he's trying to be Floyd but hasn't put in the work to be Floyd & squandered his opportunity. Read some of my other posts where I said Spence should move up next year if Thurman still on that BS. The same way i was saying GGG should move up. I even said Thurman ain't getting past Vargas.
The difference is that Spence has the frame to fight at LMW or MW. Golovkin doesn't have the size for the upper divisions. And there was no money above either.
And I don't think Spence should move up. He should reign in the WW division. Though he will probably be forced to move up by father time because he's too big.
The narrative and talk of Thurman "ducking" and by your own admission he shouldn't fight Spence now since he's coming back from a injury so he'll fight in March / April and if everything goes well another time this year probably Nov.
Again, what narrative? Thurman himself said that he's not ready, due to obligations he doesn't actually have. He's the one with a bunch of excuses, don't shoot the messenger.
Thurmans getting criticized and questioned by you because after a year lay off he decides to face a top 10 WW and jump back in the fire. Maybe because Thurman is a f.ucking champ and doing the exact thing you claim he won't do and challenge himself right off the bat . There's no winning with you lames if he fought a scrub next then he's criticized for that because he doesn't fight often and wasting his career fighting a bum
You said that Thurman vs Spence is guaranteed to take place if they both keep winning. Thuman just put himself in a bad position, by taking on Vargas coming off an injury and layoff. Again, if his injury was so bad, then why's he fighting a guy of Vargas' caliber right away? How is Vargas a tune-up? When did I say that Thurman should've challenged himself right off the bat? I think you're confused.
I'm not a Canelo fan but he was never scared of GGg, his team thought it he best to wait and he listened like any reasonable fighter would do, he ditched the belt because he views himself as bigger then the organizations and felt disrespected not fear
Oh yeah, he was so fearless he handed GGG his belt, then started beefing with the WBC for trying to do their jobs. He's bigger than the organizations, which is why he moved back down to 154, to beat a paper champion for one of the organizations' belts. Are you really gullible enough to actually believe what you told me, and do you really think I'm gullible enough to believe you?
Danny Garcia was so hesitant to fight Thurman that he took a tune up after a long layoff to make sure he was at his best so he delayed the fight no longer then what 5 months. That really seems like a fighter that was forced into a fight he didn't want. You realize that sounds retarded right
Garcia's been fighting twice a year for years now. When is he not coming off a layoff? He took a layoff for no good reason, beat a club fighter, then got outboxed and stunned by Thurman. Cherry boy didn't have to fight any decent ww's for that WBC belt. They handed it to him for beating a washed up Guerrero. Did Garcia ever try to fight any decent ww's when he was on the come-up at 147?
You guys are building up Spence as this boogeyman just like you guys built up Thurman a couple years ago. Now it's Spence is scary and these elite levels fighters who have basically beat everyone and won since they were teenagers are threatened by another elite fighter that's done the same thing. F.uck off they're not built like you guys. Every challenge they've faced for like a decade they've been successful this is no different
Okay, so why would Thurman call out other ww's, but dismiss Spence? Why isn't Porter trying to get his belt back? Why did a mediocre jww step up to Spence, but not any of the top names at 147?
Let Thurman & Spence beat a couple top 15 guys this year and set up a massive fight for 2019 it's not a bad thing it's the same with AJ/Wilder if everyone keeps winning and stays healthy it'll set up a big end of 2018 early 2019 with 2 huge fights
Again, there's no guarantee that Thurman and Spence will keep winning, especially when the former's taking a dangerous fight coming off an injury and layoff.
What narrative? Thurman straight up said he's not ready, and lied about being obligated to fight Porter. All of that came from Thurman's mouth.
Nobody's asking Thurman to fight Spence right now. Just don't expect fans to accept those lies and excuses. There's no guarantee that they'll both continue winning. What'll Thurman do if loses before he can face Spence?
Thurman's ducking Spence, because he has no good reason to delay the fight until 2019. Again, his excuses didn't make any sense.
Thurman proved that he's willing to fight everyone except Spence. He has no issues fighting Porter, a guy he already beat, and Jeff Horn the paper champ, but when it comes to Spence, all of a sudden he has a million and one excuses.
Canelo dropped his belt, just so he wouldn't have to fight GGG. Garcia didn't fight any decent welterweights before Thurman, and was definitely not eager to make that fight happen. Stop crying about people telling it like it is.
What fighter, in their right mind, would fight a prime ex-champion coming off of an injury and layoff? If Thurman's injury was so severe, why didn't he take an actual tune-up?
The narrative and talk of Thurman "ducking" and by your own admission he shouldn't fight Spence now since he's coming back from a injury so he'll fight in March / April and if everything goes well another time this year probably Nov.
If he fought Spence in the first 1/4 of 2019 it's delaying the fight 6 months from when you think it should happen. So in a span of 6-8 months he goes from a champ that's proved he's been willing to fight everyone in the division to a ducking chump
And you can't see the negative narrative you and other fans like you are spinning. Just because you guys are impatient
Thurmans getting criticized and questioned by you because after a year lay off he decides to face a top 10 WW and jump back in the fire. Maybe because Thurman is a f.ucking champ and doing the exact thing you claim he won't do and challenge himself right off the bat . Yeah that's not ignoring the reality of the situation and going off emotion
You guys are building up Spence as this boogeyman just like you guys built up Thurman a couple years ago. He will be a 154 soon, what fights would you like to see him in there?
I think a match against Hurd and/or Jermell would be fun. Lara would probably outbox him, and Ali is food at 154.
I call fans loser f.agots and other derogatory terms because they mostly fuel their opinion off emotions from the last week or so, they mostly jump on whatever narrative fits their negativity without looking at the entire picture and being honest with themselves
What narrative? Thurman straight up said he's not ready, and lied about being obligated to fight Porter. All of that came from Thurman's mouth.
Thurman isnt going to fight Spence after coming back from a injury yup he's ducking even though he's proven he'll fight anyone and 3 years ago he was the one being "ducked"If both keep winning and healthy and the fight doesn't happen by the end of 2019 there might be something to it but untill then Thurman isn't ducking anyone he hasn't even had the opportunity to duck yet
Nobody's asking Thurman to fight Spence right now. Just don't expect fans to accept those lies and excuses. There's no guarantee that they'll both continue winning. What'll Thurman do if loses before he can face Spence?
How can Thurman duck Spence when it's obvious that if they keep winning they're on a collision course to fight since Mayweather left the sport Haymons plan has been to crown a new #1 WW for the last 3 years . Now we have 2 guys left , But now Thurman is going to duck the last remaining fight to get him the crown seems unlikely
Thurman's ducking Spence, because he has no good reason to delay the fight until 2019. Again, his excuses didn't make any sense.
it sounds stupid especially when Thurmans proved he's more then willing to fight the best in the division , the reality is it's just impatient fans wanting a fight that'll happen in a year or so to call it a duck is loser sh:it
Thurman proved that he's willing to fight everyone except Spence. He has no issues fighting Porter, a guy he already beat, and Jeff Horn the paper champ, but when it comes to Spence, all of a sudden he has a million and one excuses.
The same fans were crying about Canelo ducking GGg, Garcia ducking Thurman and guess what the fights got made maybe not when fans demanded and cried about it but it got done this is no different
Canelo dropped his belt, just so he wouldn't have to fight GGG. Garcia didn't fight any decent welterweights before Thurman, and was definitely not eager to make that fight happen. Stop crying about people telling it like it is.
your going to question the severity of Keith's injury ? I bet you were the same questioning his injury before the Porter fight as a reason he was"ducking "Porter. Do you have any proof or just basing your opinion off emotion? I'm guessing emotion
What fighter, in their right mind, would fight a prime ex-champion coming off of an injury and layoff? If Thurman's injury was so severe, why didn't he take an actual tune-up?
Spence was hyping another date within hours of beating Peterson.
Fight date announced reaaaaal soon‼️ 😁— Errol Spence (@ErrolSpenceJr) January 21, 2018
I'm hoping we see him sooner than June & vs someone better than the Devon vs Victor winner.
Whats Porter got going on? Or in talks to do? Is he just waiting on Thurman?
I'm definitely of the opinion that Thurman has hurt his Q score by not fighting much (don't matter the reason) so Thurman needs to quit playing or he'll be begging Spence for a catchweight fight at 150 once Spence does leave 147 & catches the fire many of us suspect he'll catch sooner or later.
Shawn Porter wants no part of Erroll Spence Jr, especially not before he gets a second shot at Keith Thurman (Showtime made mention of Porter going through his own injury, while also pegging him for a Spring fight too).
Maybe Thurman should announce his retirement, do some dancing with the stars maybe some wrestling then come back to boxing once Spence moves up?
You don't have to be a loser or gay to point out the truth. If a fighter calls everyone out besides one guy, then what do you call it? If we're going off of what Thurman said in that interview, what else could it be? It's not that I'm not getting it when I want it, it's that Thurman's reasons for waiting until 2019 don't make any sense. I have tears to keep? But you're the one who got offended in the first place.
Just because he doesn't have a gigantic casual fanbase, doesn't mean he has none. Plus, those "negative losers" are simply calling out Thurman for his bullshit. Stop acting like Thurman can do no wrong, and understand that anyone can be subject to criticism.
Of course there are assholes, welcome to the internet. However, those negative users have a point when it comes to Thurman. He's avoiding Spence, and came up with nonsensical excuses.
Honestly, Thurman is acting sus about that injury. Why would you fight Jessie Vargas coming off an injury and layoff? Doesn't Thurman know he can very well lose that fight? Last time I checked, the fighter is the one who has the final say in who they fight. Managers are supposed to work for the fighters.

Thurman should be getting props for coming back from a long layoff and fighting Vargas(top 10 WW ) and it not be some scrub. Spence will be thurmans biggest test to date is it not a fair expectation for him to be healthy and at his best before Spence : Thurman happens. It will leave out any room for excuses
Im sure Haymon controlls when that fight will happen regardless of what Thurman or Spence want and every indication is it happens in the first 1/4 of 2019.
So until then relax change your tampon and concentrate on the dope fights that are confirmed for the next couple months like Dorticos / gassiev , Groves / Eubank , wilder / Ortiz , AJ / Parker , Valdez / Quigg , ,Estrada / Rungsai Frampton / Donaire and most likely. Lara / Hurd , Canelo / Ggg , Mares / LSC , Adonis / Jack

He's had excuses since '15....
Don't be one of those loser f.agots that use the word ducking especially if they both keep winning it's obvious the fight will be made. Just because you don't get it when you want means nothing. Keep the tears

You proved my point saying Thurman wasn't well known like Canelo so most likely the comments come from young hardcore boxing fans who % wise are probably the most negative loser fanbases in all of sports .
Obviously I don't know for sure but odds are most of the people negatively commenting a Keith Thurman video are f.ucking lame nobodies.
Just because he doesn't have a gigantic casual fanbase, doesn't mean he has none. Plus, those "negative losers" are simply calling out Thurman for his bullshit. Stop acting like Thurman can do no wrong, and understand that anyone can be subject to criticism.
YouTube is a place for pond scum to write their loser opinions. Check out any video there will be negative comments wrote whether it's Mither Theresa , Martin Luther King or Keith Thurman
Of course there are assholes, welcome to the internet. However, those negative users have a point when it comes to Thurman. He's avoiding Spence, and came up with nonsensical excuses.
It's probably not a $ thing, it's probably a Thurman injured thing And a people who actually decide when they'll fight told Thurman it'll go down in 2019 thing because when it goes down Thurman is going to have to walk through hell if he wants those 3 straps
Thurman's not a superstar like Canelo, so it's not like he has a gigantic casual fanbase. Besides, how do you know that a lot of those "nobodies on the internet" are just some hardcore fans? Odds are, you don't.
Thurman wasn't even being vague about not wanting to fight Spence. He straight up said that he's not ready, and would fight him in 2019, which we don't know if he's serious about.
But, he had no problem calling out Jeff Horn doe. Spence is the only important welterweight he doesn't want to see in the ring. Looks more like Thurman doesn't wanna take the risk. You wanna know what that's called? Ducking.
Thurman's excuses didn't even make any sense. He said that he has obligations. What obligations? He's the super champion under the WBA, so he doesn't have to fight any mandatories there. The WBC isn't a stickler for world champion responsibilities like the IBF, and unifications usually trump mandatories anyways, so he doesn't have to fight Porter before Spence. Both Thurman and Spence are not superstars, so how much more money would they get in 2019, that would make this delay worth it? Why are you trying to make excuses for Thurman, when he already laid out his own? Thurman's fighting a hungry prime Vargas coming off of an injury and layoff, so what if he loses to him? How can he be sure that he'll keep winning, when he's taking hard fights before even getting the chance to figure out a deal with Spence? If he loses, his whole plan goes out the window, so what'll he do if he does? The more experience Spence gains, the harder it's gonna be for Thurman to pull off a victory on him.
Thurman sounded more like someone who doesn't care if their stock dropped. It's not like it dropped significantly, he's just getting clowned over that sus interview.
Don't be one of those loser f.agots that use the word ducking especially if they both keep winning it's obvious the fight will be made. Just because you don't get it when you want means nothing. Keep the tears

Agree with the first paragraph
But I don't think Thurmans stocks dropped at all. Some Hardcore fans might act like their on their menstrual cycle and b.itch and moan and complain and convince themselves that Thurmans ducking Spence because Errol is the new fighter everyone's d.ickriding
But the reality is in the last 3 years Thurman has beat the best guys at WW and is involved in the highest or second most watched fight every year. When the Spence fight happens the trend will continue
It's the way boxing works when your the top dog and Keith is, you don't acknowledge the guys below you.
Gotta agree there. Thurman gave us good fights.
If there was money in a fight with one of these hungry young lions I think Floyd would take it. These fighters had 2 years to make a name for themselves to goad Floyd out of retirement for a fight and none of them did it. The only fighter out there who made a name for himself was McGregor. Thurman did all that whining about Floyd not fighting him and when Floyd retired and Thuram could've became the man he didn't do sh*t. The ball was handed to Thurman and he fumbled it.
Thurman took on Porter then Garcia and then got an injury. Who did he not fight during that period who you wanted him to fight?
Garcia was 2017. The same year Floyd came out of retirement. What did he go from 2015-2017?
You have a point. But at least he unified. Yeah, now he should fight Spence in 2018, not 2019.
Anyway, you didn't use to blame this way the MWs when they were avoiding Golovkin.
Spence is likely going to fight in Dallas around June (I've been pegging the Ortiz-Alexander winner as the opponent for some time now, tbh),
Correct. That is the plan if Alexander looks impressive.
and then likely fight again to close out the year (if not Thurman on CBS, then likely a fight against his mandatory challenger on FOX).
Spence/Thurman on CBS is penciled in for early March 2019. Spence's third 2018 fight would likely be a mandatory.
Who cares if he's getting clowned by nobodies on the internet and hurt his stock among them. Most hardcore Boxing fans pick a new flavour of the week all the time
Thurman's not a superstar like Canelo, so it's not like he has a gigantic casual fanbase. Besides, how do you know that a lot of those "nobodies on the internet" are just some hardcore fans? Odds are, you don't.
3 years ago Thurman was in Spencer's shoes as the so called guy no one wanted to fight and everyone was scared & ducking Thurman. Now he's the guy and all he's doing by being vague about fighting Spence and not looking interested in doing so is making the fight bigger when it happens
Thurman wasn't even being vague about not wanting to fight Spence. He straight up said that he's not ready, and would fight him in 2019, which we don't know if he's serious about.
The thing is Thurman is #1 now he doesn't have to chase like when he was a unknown against Paulie and guys who are #1 never make it seem like their in a rush to fight the guys below them. It's the way of the sport
But, he had no problem calling out Jeff Horn doe. Spence is the only important welterweight he doesn't want to see in the ring. Looks more like Thurman doesn't wanna take the risk. You wanna know what that's called? Ducking.
It's clear a inevitable fight between Spence and Thurman will happen if they both keep winning , sometime in late 18 early 19 and when it does Thurman will be fighting another prime WW in a fight that will probably generate the highest rating of the year for basically all the straps that matter
If he loses, his whole plan goes out the window, so what'll he do if he does? The more experience Spence gains, the harder it's gonna be for Thurman to pull off a victory on him.
That's doesn't sound like someone's who's stocks dropped
Thurman sounded more like someone who doesn't care if their stock dropped. It's not like it dropped significantly, he's just getting clowned over that sus interview.
