Who here is on Team Canelo for the rematch?
I'll admit I currently have a $200 bet on Canelo (who is the underdog).
Full disclosure, I thought GGG would win the original fight but the only bet I placed was on the draw, thinking if it was close judges would favour Canelo and that due to the $$$ involved a draw to setup the rematch was a far more likely option than the odds payout would suggest. I cleaned up on the original fight bet wise and am hoping to go 2 for 2 with the rematch.
I might put up to another $2k on Canelo for the rematch depending on how I think the training videos look.
I just think GGG has had his time and Canelo will improve more for the rematch than GGG will. Add the Golden Boy factor, Canelo looking good at 160 and GGG ageing even more and I think Canelo (as a dog) is the play here.
Who else is rolling with the Nelo?
Conversely, GGG backers feel free to shut me down and explain how I'm throwing away my money rolling with the Nelo.
If Red Balls improves his stamina she can stand and keep the fight in the middle of the ring, he prolly wins
But can he do that ?
Maybe but not likely. If he does stand in ring center and trades he is risking getting knocked out. I believe he was hurt by Golovkin. In the 10 or 11 the round Golovkin catches him and Canelo had to bounce up and down to get his legs back. It's a sign that he was stunned. I'm picking Golovkin to go to the body this time and KO Canelo in the 7th round.
Canelo has to get over his stamina issues and his fear of Golovkin. He was over reacting to feints and going to the ropes too often. He needs to take away Golovkin's jab. He needs to change quite a bit in order to win a fair decision. He can overwhelm Golovkin with speed if his stamina holds up and if Golovkin neglects the body again. So I'm favoring Golovkin again.
GGG will be 36 when the fight happens, his prime is behind him. Most fighters nowaday retire with 33-35, there is only one world champion in the entire sport who is older than GGG and that's Adonis Stevenson, and that guy avoided all the top opponents and only fights one bum per year.
My heart is with GGG, he should have won the first match if there was no corruption involved but sadly thats boxing for you. Canelo is the cashcow and they might rob GGG again if they can.
As you can not alot speaks for Canelo to win the second fight, yet GGG is favored by the betting guys, so you probably make a good bet there. Everything is possible in this fight, GGG might actually go for broke this time. Canelo might now enter his actual prime and be better than in the first fight. The fight could go pretty much as the first fight and this time justice is served and they give the W to Golovkin and we will have a third fight which makes even more money.
his best defensive fight, not his best complete fight.
3g tried his best but couldnt land that right.
Canelo tried to land something of note, but just couldn't.
Put $200 on the Nelo with a draw counting as a no - bet and not a loss at Crownbet.
May put some more on later. Bet $200 to win $500 ($300 profit) if Canelo wins.
Canelo takes it, UD.
GGG ain't getting any younger and Canelo will only get better with age, and Canelo is the more skilled fighter so the rematch will be in his favour.
what are the odds for the rematch.
$1 on GGG returns $1.57
$1 on Nelo returns $2.38
Canelo is the betting underdog. I don't agree with this which is why I'll be rolling with the Nelo.
I'm leaning towards Canelo simply because I think GGG age is starting to show....he looked like he slowed down a step or two in the last fight although I did have him clearly winning the fight. Canelo is a very intelligent fighter who is only getting better at the moment ..I believe he will learn a lot from the last fight correct his mistakes and win the rematch. having said that though I hope Golovkin wins...I like Canelo but I'm sorry I cant be pulling for a fighter whos got the machine behind him ie Golden Boy HBO. Hes young hes a huge ppv star..i get it..but I don't care about any of that I just want the best man to win.
I agree with a lot of what you said. Money talks however and because I'll win $ if Canelo wins I'll be rolling with the Nelo.
Due to Golden Boy/HBO etc I think just like the first fight it will be hard for GGG to win a decision and I see him struggling go stop Canelo partially due to age and speed.

I must admit that Oscar's comments about a trilogy make me a bit more uneasy about rolling with the Nelo.
A GGG win for this fight makes more sense for a rematch/trilogy than a Canelo win does imo.what are the odds for the rematch.

For real, Mr. Wang. I’m telling everyone that this time, it’s gonna be easy for Canelo. Don’t be surprised if they stop it this time. Canelo has felt his power and took it like a champ. Can’t wait for the rematch; it’s Ward vs. Kova II all over again.

Thank you for the Green k. I'm still new to this site so don't really know what that means or does but I'll take it!!
May 2018... it's on like Donkey Kong!
OK...so the fight is happening in May.
I'm rolling with the Nelo...
Current odds (per Ladbrokes) are:
$1 on GGG returns $1.57
$1 on Nelo returns $2.38
$1 on draw returns $21
Who's rolling with the Nelo?
Who's rolling with the Kin of Golov?

Good question. I don't know if he can improve his stamina but he definitely has to stay off the ropes.
Why does the month make the difference? Is it an age thing? Judges?
Yet trying to understand the reasoning.
One of the key things I noticed in the first fight was that GGG struggled even when he had Canelo backed against the ropes. He struggled to land clean shots there and Canelo seemed to be able to force GGG to back off when he threw his own shots. Canelo's speed and power with his counters seemed to stop GGG targetting the body much which imo he needs to do to stop Canelo.
Who else is rolling with the Nelo?
Age thing for me. Because one of two things will happen if the fight is made for September: GGG will sit out the whole year and wait for the fight, or he'll take a fight in between that will add more wear and tear on his body.
If the rematch happens in May, I'm putting money on GGG. If it happens in September, my money's on Canelo

It better not be Ward vs Kova 2 .....I want a legitimate ending to this one!!!! Middleweight deserves it. Canelo is a much cleaner fighter than Ward so I can't see this fight being stopped after a low blow.
Regarding the jab, Canelo isn't bad at countering them overall and had Chavev Jr scared to throw his. I'm sure he's working specifically on GGG's and how to counter it.
GGG had solid pressure in the first fight but Canelo landed the more eye-catching shots. If Canelo can land just a couple more nice shots a round and deal with the pressure a bit better I can definitely see him doing some real damage to GGG. I agree Canelo has now felt GGG'S power and he dealt with it Ok.
