Because he actually has no chance to win and I'm trolling because I think this is a pointless fight. This is coming from a guy really high on Garcia too. This is simply a fight to grab a belt at 140, nothing more.
Lol, I was confused when I saw your initial comment.
Mikey will make easy work of him. He needs to go back down to 135 and fight Linares, then Lomachenko back to back.
Garcia would've fought Linares if it weren't for Oscar De La Coka. Loma might not move up anytime soon, since the World Boxing Super Series might be expanded into his current division.
Now that's something I haven't seen before. Why do you think Lipinets will knock Garcia out in the 1st round.Because he actually has no chance to win and I'm trolling because I think this is a pointless fight. Then he can probably start defending his title at 140 on PPV.
I don't think it was just that. Lipinets was being built up as this talented prospect, yet nearly got dropped by a nobody in Kondo, for a vacant belt. Meanwhile, Mikey Garcia knocked out nearly everyone he fought, including world champions.
Being top 3-7 in a weak division doesn't say much. However, I do agree with you on Garcia being a very tough fight for Lipinets. Lipinets could be biting off more than he can chew.
That's a good way to run into counters. I think Lipinets is gonna have to use his head if he wants to beat Garcia
I agree with you but just because he had a tough fight doesn't mean he's not as advertised. It was essentially his first big fight and it was for a strap but he pulled through.
Another thing is everyone always underestimates the Japs when they come stateside. More often then not those guys are tough as f.uck and almost always hold their own ( Tevin Farmer last opponent as a example)
I agree that 140 is weak but people had no problems hyping up Crawfords opponents at 140 like they were credible , so why should this be any different. To me hes a top 5 guy I maybe wrong but even if he gets blown out by Mikey doesn't mean he couldn't hang or beat most of the top guys at 140.
he may run into counters like you said and it maybe a short night but I think we can all agree that Mikey is levels above Lipinets as far as skill
I doubt he can outthink or out box him and keep it competitive
I think his best chance would be to throw caution to the wind And go for broke apply constant pressure be aggressive boderline dirty and not show him any respect .Make it a fight not a boxing match
When guys are levels above you in skill you might need to test their will and see if you can take that from them. Similar to how Salido did Loma / Maidana did Mayweather. It might be his best chance
Although Salido was getting destroyed by Garcia after he broke his nose he was able to be a little more successful and he and his brother chose to walk away knowing he was up on the cards rather then continue fighting. Not saying he should go and flagrantly break his nose but see if you can push him to the limit we haven't seen Mikey push back yet and a lot of times Boxers that are so skilled don't have that in them because they've never had to rely on that before
I actually rate Lipinets and like this fight The guy can bang and tough as nails
Most people are writing him off because he didn't put on a dominant performance against Kondo

Still think Lipinets is a top 3-7 at 140, but beating Garcia is a tall task because to me Garcia falls in line with Mayweather / Payton Manning /Barry Bonds type of athlete , in that he was around the elite level of the sport his entire life. He was picking up skills to the trade as a youth that many Championship athletes haven't even learned yet when their at the top

Lipinets might have a chance if he goes in not respecting Garcias skill set and makes it a rough, dirty fight with relentless pressure and try's to break Garcia

Garcia is all business in the ring. He looks so dominant in there and takes control nearly immediately. I'd expect him to get past Lips and move on to something more lucrative.

lol..... Lipinets is a hype job. Stop buying this ****. You guys need to stop it Mikey going to school him and than casals going to say Lipinets overated all along.
Funny, because last time I checked, most boxing fans are either calling Lipinets a cherry, or saying that he'll lose. Where is all this pro-Lipinets that you're talking about?
I think Lipinets puts up a competative effort, but Garcia wins decisively. Lipinets has skills, decent power and is a true 140 fighter but Garcia is crafty, extremely skilled and has much more pro experience. Garcia by majority decision.

I have never heard anyone in the gym or real life period ever mention lipenets like that.. are you intimidated?

Can you show me just one person hyping Lipinets? Just one?

I voted Garcia by KO because he is well proven and one of the best boxers in the world. He is a fast tricky boxer who knows how to get in position to lands his power punches and he has lots of power, speed and accuracy with both hands. Sergey is good but not good enough.
Really? I think we had this covered with the first day of announcement. Personally, I think everyone has underrated Lipinets. But, he's still getting worked by Garcia and everyone knows it.
Lipinets is kind of a wildcard to me. He does have skill, power and the size advantage, but his chin looked sus against Kondo. Garcia has more experience than Lipinets, and was tested more, but only in lighter weight divisions. He was also floored by Martinez at 130, so his chin is a bit sus, too. Not only that, but if his most recent match is anything to go off of, his power doesn't seem to have completely moved up with him to 140. I think this is a test for both fighters. For Lipinets, we'll see how he can perform against an elite fighter. For Garcia, we'll see how he can perform against a top level fighter in bigger weight division. I don't consider Broner top level, because he's been pretty off since Maidana. I give Garcia the edge over Lipinets, but I wouldn't be surprised if the latter wins.
