Yeah Calderon is a level below those two IMO. Him, Humberto Gonzalez, Carbajal even Rosendo Alvarez maybe, are that that tier below Choc and Finito as the best 105-108 guys of all time
Yea if you bring in 108 there are a few more like you posted
Yea its too bad their paths never crossed only other staw would prob have to be Caldron and I don't see him at the level as other 2.

I can definitely see it going either way. There’s a very logical argument that Lopez’s defence, movement... etc etc would allow him to outbox/outfight Gonzalez

Yea deff great fight and good point about him being stronger did not really think about that at moment. But yea with his size and GREAT stamina I might make it a little closer then I 1st thought but still think Lopez pulls it out by a hair or 2 but would not bet house on it.

I would’ve picked Gonzalez tbh. It’s a weird one cause I think Finito is the better fighter but I just think the Roman’s high volume pressure style combined with with the fact he is physically stronger would’ve allowed him to grind out a close decision. Would’ve been a great fight!

Yea your prob right on both counts. Not a bunch of guys lined up to fight him at 05-08 and not much money with him coming from Nic.Had he been from Japan or Thailand even Mexico might have been more money in it.But I don't see any of those guys at 105 giving him much of a fight.Too bad he did not come at same time as Lopez. You know your a boxing nerd when you think/debate stawweight superfights lol.PS I think Lopez outboxes him after maybe having to get up from a KD 8-4 Lopez.

Yeah he beat a lot of good guys at 105 and also 108 but a lot of the other champs like Nietes and Garcia never showed all that much interested in unifying I can’t remember who the WBC champ was, I think a Thai fighter held it before Ioka. I guess the money probably wasn’t there as well to make these unification’s at 105

You were right Choc only held WBA title at 105 not sure why I had in my head he won two maybe thinking of Ioka.Either that or maybe because he fought and beat both Rodriguez, Takayama but whatever the reason I was wrong.

Galaxy was only ever WBA champ I think cause he made like 20 defences, when his bro fought Vasquez that was only for one belt wasn’t it?
Choc only held 1 title per weight as well I think apart from holding the ring title as well.
The only unification’s I can think of at 105 is Rodriguez jr defeating Takayama(which was a very good fight) and Ioka defeating Yaegashi.

I thought Choc won two at 105 and yea the lesser Galaxy deff only won one.The other I think your right just had one also but had it for long time and made like you said about 20 defences.I will have to check to be sure on Choc but I thought he had 2 at 105
I honestly cant either athough I would think there has got to be one.Tanaka had 2 at staw so did Choc I think Estrada had two at 112 Ioka had two did Galaxy have two?I know his bro had one for a little bit.

That could possibly be one of the only all Thai unification fights in history. There’s probably been one at some point but I can’t think of one off the top of my head

Yup his last one with Buitrigo was impressive.Would love to see other Thai fight Moorsri I believe he would prob win also and at least we would get better idea how good both are.Seems like a natural in such a small country. But agree I think Kyoguchi is best

Yeah Wanheng is largely overrated cause of his record, I remember watching him against some inexperienced Filipino kid and he could of lost that fight IMO.
I agree about Kyoguchi, I think he has the highest ceiling at 105, I still need to catch up with his fight from NYE. The fact that he stopped Buitriago is statement though, KO CP Freshmart couldn’t get rid of him in 24 rounds.

Yea agree with post.Would hate too see Roman become a just a name but sounds like he is gonna fight although don't see a top guy he can beat.I think Tete really looks good to eye but not sure of chin and heart yet I think I would have to go with Inoue but I see what your sayin about style his movement and speed would be h ell for Inoue at LEAST early if not for whole fight.Really tryin to keep up with these little guys like I used to.That jap staw titlest Kyoucka(sp?)looked like a heck of a fighter id pick him to beat the Thai with the 48,49-0 record Moonsri or something lol I think id pick the other unbeaten Thai champ also Nimoyong. No way I spelled any of those right but the kid from Japan looks like the best at 105

Agree on Inoue, I think someone with good hand-speed, lateral movement and especially either length+range or great judgement of distance so they don’t have to necessarily exchange to land shots will give him a lot of trouble. I’ll be very interested to see if he fights Tete at 118 who I believe is all wrong for him. I think he goes the Nery route though, if/when he beats Yamanaka in the rematch, he’s already talked about avenging Yamanaka’s defeat.
Completely agree about Roman as well. It kind of reminds me of Hatton after the Floyd loss, that same tenacity and ferociousness just isn’t there any more. I hope he retires, he’s been one of my favourite fighters for years, I’d hate for him to just become a “name” to help propel other fighters who he would’ve beaten in his prime.
I like Higa, there are certainly some flaws technically, but his power could be the equaliser. Hopefully we get him vs Tanaka that would be a war! I’m a big fan of Tanaka, I think he could takeover 112 with Ioka now retired.

Sounds like he married some movie/singing star. But I would give him a chance with any at 115 or lower. Not saying I would make him fav but I deff don't see him getting outclassed.Inoue don't move his head at all I believe he CAN be outboxed. But he is very special off esp with left hook.Higa I need to see more with better opp because he cant live with Ioka or Tanaka as far as skills we need to see how good his power, chin, desire is.I see Estrada and Caudras about same a little better then SSR and VERY close to Inoue. But need to see more of ALL of them.Did not add Choc because I believe he is totally shot sometimes it happens like that real quick.

Nice one man, I’ll catch up with this fight after work. The whole Thai name stuff is stupid, I dunno why they don’t just use their actual names instead of sponsors, gyms and other BS
Its money and I'm sure id do same but as fans its tough enough to remember/spell those Thai names. They should make it illegal just for me lol:)
Yeah I was surprised he retired, Japanese do tend to retire early though but 28 is very young. He was probably the #1 flyweight, I wouldn’t of favoured him against any of the top guys at 115 though. I think he probably lost the motivation, there wasn’t any massive money fights for him at 112, he could’ve maybe chased an Inoue fight at 115 but I think that would’ve been a step too far, and the likes of Higa and Tanaka on the way up would also be dangerous fights for him. I hope he enjoys retirement he had a very good career.

Hey Kyoguchi vs Buitrago is ON youtube NOW.Somone just must have put it out this is best ive seen him(little over half way though)He is beating the Nic kid better then the Thai did.And can these thai fighters PLEASE quit changing their name lol I mean not like it aint hard enough to follow and remember these guys 112 and under.I think we need to start a petition lol.
