Finally got around to watching the fight. BJS looked great and how he has threatened to look for much of his career see 6 first rounds against Eubank Jr to see his level. Eubank Jr has improved but the talent level between him and BJS will never close up imo. Lemieux was tailor made for BJS though - most Brits on here would have told you he'd deal with Lemieux.
That said GGG is levels above Lemieux and his footwork is exceptional and he'd get into range far more successfully than Lemieux who didn't seem to have any answers. BJS would have to work exceptionally hard and GGG would catch up with him after the midpoint I think and probably win on the cards or a late stoppage.
BJS might beat Canelo imo. Canelo's feet are that bit slower. He is a class counter puncher with great upper body movement himself but BJS could prod and poke, turn, and befuddle Canelo at times. It'd be a fantastic clash of styles and Canelo is a thinker. I'd love to see what he'd do. The wild card is also that BJS is a big guy which would affect Canelo more than a GGG.
If you were handling BJS I don't think the Jacobs fight is that appealing. Both the size of him and his speed negate some of BJS's advantages imo.
On that form, Golovkin will have problems finding BJS for sure. Since GGG has been fighting better quality he has had trouble finding opponents. He relies heavily on getting opponents against the ropes to land meaningful punches, otherwise its mainly only been the jab.
I think BJS actually has very few weaknesses - he isn't amazing at anything in particular, but very good at most things. The southpaw stance, the natural boxing ability, the size, speed, and footwork could make him a real issue. He isn't a ***** either, he can take a shot if he needs to and is a tough kid.
I think I am talking myself into picking him for an upset to be honest.
bjs handlers better not screw this up and put him in there with charlo or jacobs, they need to secure a fight w/ ggg or canelo because the mans not hot.
"I wasn't at my best. Hats off to Billy Joe," Lemieux said. "As of the second round, my left hand, I couldn't use it the way I wanted to, and he was on the run, so I had difficulties throwing my jab. He was running away from the first round until the end. I guess that's his strategy to win, to run away from fighters who are fighting. If that's the way you want to win, congratulations."
the exact type of statement a limited brawler would make when hes been out boxed.
yeah, a guy with 12 kos is going to give a puncher the only chance he has at winning :lol1: !!!!!!
''dduuurrrrrrrr, you caint hurt me or knock me out, doe !!!!!''
''a W is a W, bruh.''
:lol1: the 1st b/u
didnt have a hand problem in the fights he won, doe.
Yeah that's just silly beyond belief - he should just take this L instead of embarrassing himself further.
ggg couldn't even wade through Jacobs, another guy that has been stopped, that was given no chance to win
You have to play dumb to think that fight was close, there is no evidence for it. It's like I said earlier, the g tards stay silent when you ask them to produce visual evidence while the Canelo fans can produce them at will.
First of all, Jacobs was stopped when he was like 23 by a very good fighter in his prime - Dimitry Pirog was a really good fighter but unfortunately had to retire because of injury.
Jacobs was in his prime fighting GGG who was noticeably on the decline, he got knocked down and came in much bigger than GGG. Not a bad win.
And you said GGG arguably lost those two fights? Says who? The vast minority? Well, one judge had Mayweather v Canelo a draw, so therefore it can be argued.
Outlanding Caenlo in 10 of 12 rounds and then getting a score of 118-110 Canelo says it all really. Close fight and a good fight, but a score like that just speaks volumes of the BS that goes on in boxing.

The majority wanted Canelo to lose.
When asked to produce evidence g tards simply cannot. When you ask Canelo fans to produce gifs, show punches landed they'll flood the forum with them, g tards stay silent this has been proven time and time again in numerous threads.

Gifs? Same with Loma vs Salido. Loma has highlight videos and gifs from that fight Salido besides low blows i haven't seen any shots he landed on Loma. I only remeber 1 head shot he was caught with and that's it, yet people say Slaido whipped Loma.
BJS's resume won't fight for him.
GGG would wade right through him.

The majorty thought he didn't, why do arguably? Since a some thought BJS lost to Eubanks.

Yep, and Mayweather arguably drew with Canelo.

Ok, guys.
It was a beautiful performance, but have a look at BJS fight before this one against the guy who actually can box. David is actually the perfect guy for BJS to look good against. It doesn't get better than that.
Why didn't BJS look half as good against Monroe - yes, he did have more time with Ingle - but don't you think that the style had something to do with it...
It takes much more than being slick to beat Gennady - much more. Ask Jacobs.
BJS' resume rivals ggg's, Eubank was undefeated DJ was not.
Lee is a better fighter than Lemieux another win, dominated Lemieux, beat Monroe, etc. ggg arguably lost his 2 last fights against a blown up JMW whom he was supposed to dominate.

BJS going to be a very hard fight for GGG, who is too slow and come forward. BJS really showed he is taking this sport seriously once again.
That whole Brook thing is silly though - he came forward like GGG wanted him too and got his orbital bone broken, there is no bragging rights in claiming you did good BEFORE you threw in the towel in round 5 - or else everyone would blow their load in the first round and call it a day.
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
A win over David has them all caught up in the moment.
Glass chinned Alcine clowned Lemieux with ease.

He "CAN" with the right Gameplan absolutely he can. That Size and Slickness will present problems as long as BJS avoid those long layoffs and get fat again.
The quick turn around from the Monroe Jr fight helped him IMO
GGG is a little long in the tooth and BJS is just entering his prime. With the Canelo fight in May the soonest this fight could happen is this time next year. So the longer this fight takes to make the more the odds slide in BJS favor.
