Some troll/alt named travestyny that just ducked a fight with ironmt and in his excuses and rhetoric he started using The GREAT Rocky Marciano's name as an example of why he didn't think it was fair to face ironmt this weekend because of what Marciano did to Joe Louis.
As I was doing research, I found out that Marciano actually fought professionally under then name "Rocky Mack" AND WON 5 PRO FIGHTS!!!! They say it was 1 fight butI found that even though he was still an amateur and was beating the amateurs he fought he was moonlighting for extra cash as a professional.
This kind of clouds Rocky's amateur fights because once you fight Pro you lose your amateur status, meaning any fights he had as an amateur after the Rocky Mack pro fights are void and do not count.
This does however change Rocky's record! Looks like Rocky is STILL the holder of the GREATEST professional record of all time at 54-0.
Guess Floyd is going to have to find five NBA players that are 5'3 or so if he wants to compete with Marciano's UNTOUCHABLE professional record!

If floyd didn't use PEDS and the ref and judges are fair he's not worthy to compare with marciano because floyd record will be like 45-5-0.
This too. ^^^^^^
I still consider Finito Lopez the holder of the "record" since he was 51-0 (sure their was a technical draw in a fight ended by an injury in 7 rounds which he won the immediate re-match which went 12) until there's other proof. Moonsri is 49-0 now and will obviously own the record soon.
But I don't take much stock in the "record". Chavez went to 87-0 and I believe Jimmy Wilde went 97-0 with some draws. Olivares was 68-0 etc; there's plenty. Also, "record" runs like Robinson and Pep having 90 fight streaks after non-title fight losses where they jumped up and gave 10-15 lbs to HOF champs.
Rocky was good though no doubt. Shame he has been ridiculed by the folks that love Wilder for so long and that an unbeaten record means everything in boxing apart from him. Shame on them.
This.....^^^^^^
Thanks

Theres a huge debate there because some historians believe Floyd would really be 44-6 as he should have been DQ'd against Zab Judah since Roger Mayweather had a domestic violence flashback and entered the ring like he was going to beat his woman but got dropped by Yoel Judah.
Mike Tyson has a win over Peter McNeeley for the exact same reason. Why wasn't Floyd DQ'd?
Then theres the OBVIOUS question of why arent his "victories" that he cheated with steroids and IV's in overturned?
Same thing with Shane Mosley getting caught using steroids against Oscar. Why isnt that "victory" overturned? They iverturned James Toney's woin over Ruiz for that. Botha had one overturned too.
Theres simply not a level playing field out there. Floyd has the most losses of any undefeated fighter in History.

hahaahaha. Don't worry floyd will get broke soon and will fight some non boxer in PPV. :lol1:
This is actually old news ,woulld be cool if his fam somehow do something legally to change his record .
Thats an amazing idea. I am going to email Peter Marciano right now.
edit* shit, he died.
The problem with Floyd aside from the fact that he did Steroids the whole time and lost a few fights is that he ducked fighters and weight classes . Anyone can maneuver an undefeated record nowadays but Floyd couldn't keep a Championship and had to fight spectators to reach whatever redundant number he currently claims.
I have never seen anything about Floyd failing a test or doing roids. Im opened to anything, but thats not real at all.
And he didnt duck weight classes. He was jumping up in weight to get a money fight with Gatti and Oscar. After he got that Gatti fight, he was chasing Oscar. His whole career, he did anything for those fights.
After he got that Oscar fight he was done with boxing. His resume was subpar imo. But when he came back, he was old as dirt, and made a mockery of all those big giant young guys. Thats what made his resume imo. He was flawless in the ring. I have never seen a fighter that sharp in my life.
Again, for me he is the greatest of all time, and its not even close. Because its one thing to beat bigger men that are too big and young for you. But to make a mockery of them with pure skills, and little power, is IMPOSSIBLE. Never seen anything like it!
Then you have record padding to consider. If JC Chavez had retired before Frankie Randall would he be the greatest of all time? I think not. Quality of opposition is important. Klitchko's both quit before. One of the against Chris Byrd who sells houses for a living. The fact that Marciano was a Cruiserweight utterly destroying the likes of Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore and Jersey Joe Walcott only makes him that much greater.
Actually, my evaluation does take into consideration the quality of opposition and the sum record (the combined win:loss record) of Wladimir Klitschko's opposition is arguably the best in history compared to the sum record of any past heavyweight champion.
Despite Vitali quitting, they only amount to 2 losses and he also has one of the best heavyweight records in history.
Don't get me wrong here! Rocky Marciano was a great boxer but not a great heavyweight. That's my only point! Rocky Marciano was mainly a cruiser weight / light heavyweight by modern standard. However, it is still debatable if he is better than some of the modern cruiserweights today.
If we take away the number of losses from his number of wins, we have 59.
Thus, 59 > 54.

Rocky Marciano wasn't a heavyweight by modern standard. He was a cruiserweight (never had a single bout at 200 pounds or 200 + pounds). So he may arguably be the greatest cruiserweight of all time as a result or at the very least, one of them.
Also, undefeated records aren't better if someone has a few losses but also has far greater accomplishments. For example, Wladimir Klitschko has 64 wins and only 5 losses out of 69 professional boxing bouts. If we take away the number of losses from his number of wins, we have 59.
Thus, 59 > 54.
Nonsense Lol. Floyd was aging backwards, and facing men too big, and young for him. Making a fool out of them. He was ducking Pacman, and to compensate he decided to clean up everywhere at and around the division. Making a mockery of them.
For me, Floyd is byfar the greatest to ever do it.

Cool find but these records are still stupid. When you have guys who went 60-0 then lost because they kept taking risks how is that inferior to the guy who went 40-0 then retired?
Undefeated is utterly meaningless in boxing/mma/etc. It just means you're carefully managed. Nothing else at all.

A lot of truth in this but when you retire undefeated and retire as Heavyweight Champion when there was only 1 Champion it means you were the baddest man on the planet Undisputed. Lower weight classes pale in comparison especially nowadays where guys cherry pick opponents AND titles. An undefeated record nowadays means 1% of what it meant in Rocky's era...yet there's still nobody in any weight class who can match his 54-0 record!

Yeah. Chavez just didn't coast and protect his record with carefully selected matches he just fought.
Had Chavez retired at 87-0 I still wouldn't really consider him the goat though.
Mayweather was always protecting the "0" pretty much from the moment he beat Gatti (which was a mismatch anyway). He fought like a team protecting a half time lead every time he fought and he was very, very careful choosing the opponents. He was an expert at getting a name, but not getting the guy near his best.

Rocky Marciano holds the record for retiring as an undefeated champion with a perfect record and Floyd Mayweather holds the record for retiring as an undefeated boxer with a perfect record.
The Marciano fans should be happy Floyd came out of retirement to fight a non-title fight because it means Marciano still has the best record of anybody that retired as champion..
Dude. You are so right. Today is officially Rocky Marciano Day!!!
