Despite being shot in the stomach and having a double hip-replacement operation in the past two years, Germany's Manuel Charr is determined to become a world heavyweight champion later today. Charr, 33, faces 40-year-old giant Russian Alexander Ustinov in Oberhausen and is adamant he will leave the ring with the vacant WBA "regular" world heavyweight belt. Click Here To Read More]
Either guy whips Oquendo, but I think Ustinov will be too big and strong. I like Charr though, he's a funny guy, I still laugh about that time he showed up at Haye's presser and Haye didn't know who he was. Lol. Also showing up at that fitness thing and calling Fury "a mad man" WAR DIAMOND BOY
lol. gotta love diamond boy, he even recovered from getting shot several times in the stomach a couple years ago, he gets splattered here though, his chin is completely gone.

This regular belt crap is how guys like Ustinov, Charr & Oquendo stay in contention. I thought that is what regional belts were for. The Charr/Ustinov fight is a pretty evenly matched fight between 2 fringe contenders. Ustinov is just big. He is slow & can be hit. Charr use to let his hands go but he never moved too well. He was very stiff which made him an easy target. He is coming in at 231 & maybe the hip surgeries will allow him to move around quicker. If he can avoid punches it is only going to help him. It looks like Charr is leaving no stone unturned for this fight. Ustinov is down to 279 so he too is ready. The winner will be within a fight or 2 of a Joshua payday...
The biggest joke is that Oquendo hasn't fought for 3,5 years but is still ranked #4 by WBA. Thats even worse than the Stiverne situation by the WBC.
Yeah, I've put money on Ustinov. But Ustinov's spent 2 minutes in the ring in the last 30 months. Already regret the bet tbh
Tua is better than Charr and even Too couldn't do **** against Ustinov. I favour Ustinov by stoppage !

The winner fights Oquendo or Pulev. Finally sets up a WBA mandatory for AJ? .. I think.
Wouldnt be surprised if Povetkin gets in here somehow. Think Hrunov is promoting this fight, so means Ryabinsky is pulling some strings somehow.

Good, maybe come the end of next year there will finally only be 1 WBA heavyweight champion... as long as that does not get in the way of unifications.
Charr went the distance against a smaller Cruiserweight in his last fight 2 months ago and won a close decision. Giant Ustinov will be too much for him.

I like Charr. He's a fearless man who's chased top guys and went into his Klitschko fight wanting to win. I think he's done though.
