I am a big jacobs fan...........
But anyone who knows anything bout boxing knows he could have got arias out of there in the 10th,11th,12th maybe even earlier if he hunted the body more. Arias was gassed and ready for the taking and i thought jacobs was admiring his own work too much.
The fight looked AWFUL On tv with jacobs slappy arm punches and arias clinching. just awful. i was really excited about jacobs first outing on hbo in a long time. the least he coulda done is stopped the guy. very unimpressing
56/12 = 5 more per rd. and most, if not all, were jabs.
sry to read you seen 3g dish out a ''drubbing'' on dj.
This is an "argument"? I think we're done.
He's american so enough fools convinced him he soundly beat GGG, he did well.
WRONG--A draw wold have been MAAAYBE okay, no robbery at all--GGG is a better fighter all around I think.
It also kinda bugs me how Danny is a 168 guy killing himself to come down to 160
who are you and why would i :dunno:
if you saw 3g ''drubbing'' dj too, well, what can be said
it was the closest ''drubbing'' ive ever seen :lol1: !
I am the chosen one, LOL!
I think Golovkin won the fight.
That said, I love DJ, but I did not like his fight last Saturday.

those numbers are wrong though...must have been counting those ineffective body flurries that were caught on the elbows. if you watch the video breakdown ggg outlands him by 73 which seems more accurate and those jabs were power jabs that knocked jacobs head back. besides the rare power shot that jacobs landed his punches were not as effective as those jabs so to dismiss them isnt being a good observer.
Jacobs caught Quillan cold for a first round ko and lasted 12 rounds with Golovkin. Other than that his resume is pretty weak. That's really thin for all the claims he makes. If you claim you're special, you gotta do something special.
3g = punches 231/615 - 38%
dj = 175/542 - 32%
3g's jab and that off balance kd won 3g the fight.
have a good day
if you ever have the chance to defend me, please, don't!
Jacobs has always been a little arrogant. I was taken a back how confident he was going into the Quillen fight. I actually gave Quillen shot to beat him. The arrogance works in big fights but last night it didn't help him. He got very good advice from his coach between rounds but as soon as he thought he hurt Arias he would go full Wilder on him. You can tell he has a lot skills but his emotions got the best of him last night.
The HBO crew was just pathetic on th amount of praise they were heaping on him. If I had to guess I think they were doing that to boost Golovkin's win over him.
I was thinking this same thing. HBO was completely ignoring everything from Arias and riding Jacobs hard. I think they just still see good "product" out of him and can still make good fights with him in the future. They want to make sure you understand just how amazing, super awesome, and incredible the dude is in there. Just in case you couldn't see that for yourself. :alcoholic
Arias was in survival mode so it makes it much more difficult to KO someone who's just there to avoid getting hit for the most part. Jacobs was getting frustrated telling him to "stop running", "stand and fight", but Arias just kept it moving, trying to survive, which had the effect of a punch output amounting to possibly around 50% less than Jacobs!
Arias was doing the same thing. He'd wait for Jacobs to throw one of those slopping punches and clinch him. Maybe if someone in the corner said, "he's just wanting to clinch, throw a jab, feint, and when he goes to clinch catch him with an uppercut..". Or just bang his body in the clinches.
Jacobs' last fight says a lot about ggg. He had a dead man in front of him the last 4 or 5 rounds and coulnd't get him out of there. He had an opponent who just wanted to survive instead of trying to win at least 1 round. Should have stopped him. I don't believe he beats Charlo or Canelo fighting like that. I think People put too much stock in him knocking out Quillin who was basically ripe for the taking. People saw his undefeated record and thought he was some great fighter when he escaped with a draw against Lee. And Lee isn't a bad fighter, but I just never put a lot of stock in Quillin

Is this meant to be a positive argument in favour of Jacobs? I don't even go off of compubox but Jacobs supposedly landed 56 less punches....thats a drubbing, AND got got KD.
lol cmon man, stop stretching
Back on topic, Jacobs didnt seem arrogant at all. I liked his interview afterwards, was honest he didnt go to his gameplan. I think the problem may be he didnt trhow hard because he couldnt land much on the oustide and when he got on the inside, he got caught too.
In the latter rounds, he started to throw one big shot after another and Arias, as crap as he is, seems to have a chin on him.

if you considered that a no hopers performance, we dont really need to continue this convo.
neither guy arias or jacobs really came to win. in the last 2 rounds when jacobs was certainly down in the fight(5-5 at best meaning he had to win the last 2 to get the win) jacobs did nothing until the last 5 seconds of the round where he landed a couple shots and probably only cause ggg was caught so off guard. that tells me he was fighting to survive and didnt open up earlier not because he couldnt but because he was scared of what could happen if he did. not a winner mentality. going backwards the entire fght while getting his head snapped back also didnt help much. he was content

Sometimes i think that people in the boxing world are dumber than i thought. I mean from my couch i can see that Jacobs NEEDS TO finish this up in fashion for him to have any chance "wanting to be a star in america and worldwide" as he said in the lead up. And this dummy whos spent his whole life in boxing since he was a little boy carries this club fighter through the last few painfully frustrating dull rounds of a painfully frustrating fight. I will watch his next fight cause im a boxing head but i doubt if the casual will...
