Joshua's record was nothing to praise before he got a consolation fight vs Wlad after Fury backed out. He received a bit opportunity, got off the floor and won big. Wilder won his title and wants a big fight vs Joshua who many call THE Heavyweight Champion. Why is he being bashed for it? Sure you can look down his record as well, but why are some of you fans playing promoter, giving them reason to not put on this necessary HW fight while they are both undefeated? Since when did some of you care and WANT a fight to be staved off for a couple of years so that it can be "the biggest fight possible"? So you'd rather wait another year or so for the possibility of either Joshua or Wilder losing/looking poor in a performance or two as opposed to making it happen right now? Trilogies have been built on fights happening early rather than manufacturing a fight when both men are ready to retire. I guess some of you really do like Bob's "let it marinate" strategy... I'm a promotor, big advocate of Oscars "marination" I bought a couple of fighters recently I'm in the process of setting up bebo and myspace pages for them. To get with the times I could put them on Craigslist also. Sounds like we got a big new player in the game. Anyone who has any sort of financial IQ should send blank cheques this way. The fight needs to happen in 2018, but i don't mind if it's not Joshua's next fight to be honest. If he was to face Parker in his first fight of the year, add another title, then face Wilder in the Summer, i'd be down with that. I don't like the wait(mostly because both are vunlrable )But as long as its summer I wont call it a duck yet but after summer quack quack.

Then his promoter tries to put Dillian Whyte up as an obstacle, and Wilder’s team called the bluff and said “Yes, absolutely, as long as the contract says Wilder gets AJ next, guaranteed, if he wins.” And Hearn responded with “It doesn’t work that way.” Now that there’s some heat on them for seeming to want to avoid a unification, AJ’s side is saying the right things. It would be better if AJ himself said it, but it’s a start. Both of their schedules are clear, it should be next. But we all know it won’t be. What I don’t get are those who are concerned about how much or what percentage Wilder will get. I wanted Canelo-GGG and I didn’t give a tinker’s damn about who was making how much — I wanted to see the fight. Same here. Those who are more worried about purse splits than making the only meaningful fight in the heavyweight division puzzle me. the real reason people are making excuses is that they live vicariously through certain fighters and being able to poke fun at other nationalities and races when their guys wins and the other guys guy loses...its sad stuff really but you look at these guys and all the talk they did leading up to ward/kovalev...and the two years they called canelo names....only to have kovalev get stopped and have golovkin only earn a draw on a guy he was supposed to kill when canelo landed more power shots and got a draw we had to hear about how the jab was the most important punch in boxing and that golovkin easily jabbed himself to victory and the judges and the refs and the lowblows and all the nonsense we had to hear when their hero didnt get the job done joshua is another one...and deep down these guys fear the day they cant come on here and talk about how great he is and they have to make excuses as to why joshua was face down on the canvas....some of these guys live for this **** man...coming on here and making fun of US fighters...or black fighters...or puerto rican fighters........its been a rough year for alot of these guys and they wanna move forward and tell joshua to take his time and maybe fight wilder in 2020 Really agree with part about a lot of fans live vicariously though their fav fighters.I hate them fanboys because they could not care less about heath of sport as long as their HERO don't get beat.

Fans should be pushing for this fight to happen now. Not agreeing with excuses by the promotor or giving credence to the "fight Whyte, make it bigger" . Put pressure on the promoters and networks.

It's nothing new. Fans get emotionally attached to fighters and try to protect them using the same arguments promoters use. The sad thing is, promoters are actually profiting from these fighters, the fans... I'm not sure, but it seems they fulfill an emotional need through their favorite fighters.
