Guys,
Not trying to start a thread just for the heck of it, but want a logical and objective comparison between the skills of these 2 guys. I have been asking to understand why the repeated statements of AJ being the better boxer. Thought it will be best to do a holistic comparison of what each guy brings to the table. I am certain I may have missed some aspects but here is my start. Objective and constructive (not delusional or problematic) fans ONLY. See below for my take:
Wilder:
Power: 9.5
Fighting on Front foot: 9.0
Fighting on Back foot: 8.5
Left Hand (Jab & Hook): 8.0
Right Hand: 9.5
Agility: 8.5
Head Movement (L/R, U/D, F/B): 7.5
Stamina: 9.0
Uppercut: 6.0
Footwork: 7.5
Defense: 7.0
Finishing Ability: 9.5
Experience/Opponents fought in era: 8.5
Intangibles (IQ,Balance,Fundamentals): 7.5
TOTAL: 115.5/140 (Rating: 82.5%)
AJ:
Power: 9.0
Fighting on Front foot: 9.5
Fighting on Back foot: 5.5
Left Hand (Jab & Hook): 7.0
Right Hand: 9.0
Agility: 7.5
Head Movement (L/R, U/D, F/B): 7.5

Intangibles (IQ,Balance,Fundamentals): 8.5

Thoughts?
If BW lands on Joshua clean, he'll be in trouble, for sure.
Though I'm still not 100% sold on Wilder's power.... that fight with Malik looked dodgy as Hell.
I can understand and respect your point on the Malik fight. None of us will ever know the truth. From my point, I saw a left hook followed by a right hand that did not have a full impact. Maybe Malik decided to just sit down rather than continue (I bet over 50% think this), while others think that maybe he lost his equilibrium. Who knows? From the eye test, looking at what Wilder's power does to his opponents is why I rate him as the most powerful heavyweight.
I find Joshua very "basic", and probably limited, but when either guys hit you, you know you're hit, so it doesn't matter in a lot of instances.
Agreed, bro! Both guys definitely hit hard.
AJ possibly has the better punch resistance, which isn't to say it's great? Wilder looks a bit fluffy around the chops IMO.
If either lands, it'll lead to the fight ending.
AJ should have better punch resistance because he is heavier, but would that really matter if he gets hit? As Floyd says, boxing is a game of hitting and not getting hit. Right?
Joshua beat and retires an ATG.
Wilder bigger name is Stiverne.
Next!
Joshua beat an ATG coming off a loss, who was 41+ years old, and who was not a champion, and had shown signs of decline even in the Bryant Jennings fight. So, it is like Wilder beating Stiverne as well - although the latter is not an ATG.
That, however, is not a good side to side comparison of their skills. If you look at my rating, I gave AJ equal score in experience because of the Klitschko fight but that is not enough to beat Wilder imo, nor does it make AJ a better boxer.
Joshua is text book. Wilder is off script.
Most importantly though, both are long range fighters. Wilder is longer, more mobile and more powerful.
Appreciate the response, bro. What I am concerned about is this "better" boxer statement. Yes, AJ looks textbook, but like Wilder says, he will rather be the part than look the part. I think both guys are effective with their tools but using the word better bothers me, since I don't see it.
