Rigondeaux may be the most Underrated fighter in history.
Brb 7x Gold Medalist
Brb the Greatest Amateur boxer to ever live
Brb schooled Prime Donaire who outweighed him by 30 pounds
Brb breaks people's Jaws with single punches
Brb ducked by everyone around him
Brb going up 2 weight divisions to give Loma his ass-whooping
My friend was ringside for a Rigo fight and he says Rigo's punches sounded like bombs exploding.
Freddie Roach called Rigondeaux "probably the greatest talent I had ever seen in my life." And Roach trains Pacquiao.
Why is Rigondeaux so underestimated?
he is well known. 2 Gold Olympic medals guaranty that. He is been black listed is the reason...
He isn’t well known. If he was he would be pulling in money. When you pull in money then everyone wants a piece of that money (Networks, promoters etc), no one would “Blacklist” someone that makes them money.

when exactly did he get black listed? I always hear the narrative that he was "blacklisted" for beating donaire. he headlined a boxing after dark broadcast after that, which had the worst ratings ever for that platform. that might have something to do with it. the guy just doesn't sell...plain and simple. the purist type boxing fan is an extreme minority, and that makes up most of rigo's base.
Top fighters ran from him. See frampton, st+, mares, quigg. And I haven't seen a dull fight against anyone, been Rigondeaux fault. I really don't know from where you are getting that, now I remember, uncle bob say so...
whether guys ran from him or not is kinda irrelevant. a guy ducking you is not the same as beating them in the ring...unfortunate for rigo, but that's the way it is.
you didn't think his ud over a completely outclassed opponent on the canelo vs cotto undercard was dull? he had great exposure there and a chance to look spectacular, and he blew it.
I don’t think he is underrated at all, just because he isn’t well known doesn’t mean he is underrated, he is well respected by the boxing community. He isn’t well known due to a number of things. But he is highly rated and regarded by most.he is well known. 2 Gold Olympic medals guaranty that. He is been black listed is the reason...
He isn't active enough against top fighters and he's looked pretty dull against lower level opposition. I don't think anyone denies his talent and skill level...it's just a little disappointing he hasn't done more with it.Top fighters ran from him. See frampton, st+, mares, quigg. And I haven't seen a dull fight against anyone, been Rigondeaux fault. I really don't know from where you are getting that, now I remember, uncle bob say so...
He was overhyped a couple years back. Beating Donaire was treated as being paramount to parting the seas. He's done nothing since but has remained in the P4P list, even though that Donaire win becomes less relevant every year.
I think he's super talented and I think he's got a strong chance at beating Loma. But, he gets too much credit for such meager professional accomplishments.
hasnt beaten anyone in nearly 4 and a half years and yet is still at the top of most rankings. thats not very underrated at all. thats like the ravens winning the super bowl in 2013 and then only playing the brown for 4 straight years and saying they are still the best simply because they kept winning over a sh-it team. 4 years! lot changes!
Greatest amateur boxer to ever live?!?! You do know Joe Calzaghe was an amateur back in the day, right? Phaggot.
Are you on ur period? Coward Calzaghe isn't fit to wipe Rigondeaux's ass.
I think you mean overrated because some people look at him as a boxing god and crown him top 5 p4p or higher yet sh*t on people with much better resumes then him.
How is pretending to be a white racist working out for you little brown she-male???
I've debunked you so many times and you still say the same thing. Don't you have a Disqus account to log onto on WorldStar to hate on white people some more?
lmao dude youre a moron
Instead of saying why I'm incorrect on my opinion, you start calling names. That just means you never really had anything good to come back with sucka. :bottle:
He's talented and has a great boxing brain but his professional accomplishments are overstated. He has one good win in about 8-9 years as a pro. Poor management and an unwillingness to challenge himself the last 4-5 years have held him back. He should have moved into 126 if he felt 122 was ducking him or fought some champs from 118 but instead fought Jazza Dickens. We'll get to see how good he really is on December 9th. This fight will define his career and how he should be remembered. I think he will get stopped.
He's in the lower divisions, doesn't act a fool, and is Cuban. If dude was a real black American in higher divisions and coming out on TMZ, you better believe dude would be so much popular. By popularity, media outlets and journalists would write about him to get hits.
lmao dude youre a moron
Underrated? 1 good win 4 years ago, absolutely no one else and he's still on most p4p lists.
Overrated is closer to the truth, especially since donaire got his ass whooped multiple times since then.
people like rigo have to retire, die, or end up brain dead like ali to get respect! then when another prospect who gets hype comes the people who once hated rigo will make threads saying "he isn't better than rigo"
Has anyone seen his Twitter recently? Either he's finally learned English or he has someone doing it for him but he's been insanely active on it either way. Maybe he's finally realised he has to try to market himself.
Regarding him being under/over rated, anyone who appreciates the art of boxing knows how good he is. He may have been mismanaged and he may have a style that doesn't appeal to casual boxing fans but he's also been avoided by many of the "top" fighters over the years. What Frampton did, for example, was the most blatant ducking I've ever seen.
And now he's going up two weight classes to fight a Top 5 p4p fighter. If he wins this fight, then he'll have two of the best wins in recent history against fighters at the peak of their powers who are among the very best in the world. As big of a Loma fan as I am, I'd love to see Rigo get the job done just so he gets the respect he deserves from the people who write him off as dull and boring.
Well said. Rooting for rigo as well. Shame one loss can already mean you've been exposed to most lol

Rigo underrated?
The guy has not been off p4p lists for almost half a decade although he hasn't fought any top fighters for years.
Can Mr. Ruthless explain to me how that means he is underrated?
