So I think many, myself included, have been disappointed with the division in recent years. Fury beating Wlad seemed like a new dawn for the division, you had a new and vulnerable looking champion, big punching contenders such as a resurgent Povetkin, Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz. You had Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker coming up the ranks quickly. Things were really looking up.
Only really Anthony Joshua has delivered. Fury collapsed in a controversy of failed drug tests, homophobic rants and depression. Povetkin and Ortiz both got popped for PEDs while on the path to fight Wilder. Wilder, subsequently, has still not faced a top opponent since Stiverne. Parker has looked increasingly flawed even fighting at the top 10-15 range of HW's.
Looking to the future however we have some very interesting prospects on the horizon in my opinion, 3 Olympians who have recently turned over and some young, big, skilled HW's from around the world.
Filip Hrgovic (1-0, 1ko)
Only 25 but has been on World amateur circuit forever. Big (well built 6'6"), fast and skilled he has arguably not gotten the rewards out of the Am scene that he maybe should have due to some controversial cards. Can be a little stiff with his head movement and open to incoming shots, but his punches are so spiteful that its hard not to get excited watching him. He turned pro this last weekend with a KO over journeyman Zumbano Love.
Tony Yoka (1-0, 1ko)
Olympic and World Championship Gold Medallist from the amateurs, though not without controversy, he was one of the top fighters from the last era of SHW's. At 6'7", 240lbs, 82" reach, he has the dimensions and he is also quick, skilled and extremely athletic. Trained by Virgil Hunter in the pros and I believe this will be a good fit. He made his pro debut earlier in the year and has his next bout in a few weeks.
Joe Joyce
The other Olympian and top amateur turning over this year. He is older than the others, but he proved in the Ams to be up there with the best. He won Silver in the Olympics losing out to Tony Yoka in the final. He is a natural SHW, deceptively athletic (looks a bit cumbersome but he can produce a backflip in the ring when he wins a fight). Extremely strong fit and relentless in his attack he never stops coming and never stops punching. A really nice jab adds some finesse to braun.
by future you mean at least 5 years down the line?
Apart from Dubois, none of them seem that exciting. Joyce is a robot and Yoko still lost to him, on top of that, the Frenchman is absolute trash.
I'd rather we got AJ/Wilder/Pulev/Parker/Whyte/Chisora all fighting ecah other, without bs, without theatrics and without barely 2 fights a year.
Your a candidate for dumbest poster on here . Anytime you post ppl will always link you to the Furys bc your to much of a fanboy troll not too ...you also were on your last legs telling everyone how bad Hughie was going to school Parker. You had to then jump on the Duboi train now to troll some more and are already claiming him the best in his 5 fight career ?:owned:

Yoka is chinny even though he is decent technically. Joyce is a very powerful man but I believe he started boxing very late and so his skillet isn't the best. Still I like Joe and will be routing for him
I thought Joyce actually beat Yoka at the finals. But he didn't get the decision. Like you said Joyce is very powerful but crude. He can get away with it because he is a HW but I see those mover/technically savvy HW beating him easily to a UD.
That says alot considering Fury said Joshua beat him up already ,do you even think before you post?
So what if hes the future what does that have to do with your lack of boxing knowledge ? Your only here to get C0ck anyway , and your sig proves and reinforces that ..... i guess a beta like yourself gets the bottom right ? :bryce:
What's Fury got to do with this discussion? Daniel Dubois has already knocked Anthony Joshua out, and he's a 20yr old rookie.
My boxing knowledge is far superior to yours, i'm just generally more intelligent and educated than you. :boxing:
I don't know why but am not excited about Tony Yoko at all, nor Joe Joyce.

Your man ? I knew you liked the dark stick ! :blowjob:
No ,your man lost to Parker ,and will continue to lose against REAL top guys bc he cant punch . Your other MAN is going to have a real tough time without anything illegal in his system which is why his hearts not in it .
Now your on another bandwagon ,which is bad for Duboi bc your going to Jinx that fighter now too and it has nothing to do with your LACK of boxing knowledge its just the garbage energy you attract !:lol1:
Dubois has already sparked Joshua out and he's only 20. This kid is the future, deal with it f4gg0t.
Oh, and wtf is "garbage energy?" GTFO with that superstitious bollocks.
Okolie?
He's pro at Cruiserweight. Would probably move up at some point but not sure he would be durable enough at HW.
That's the one, I thought he started at HW? But it's good that he has decided to drop down.
I would be surprised if either didnt make it to at least Euro level. Which at HW is top 10 or not too far from it.
Both obviously have a lot to prove.
Oh yeah they would make Euro level definitely but I could see both of them losing to say someone like Dubois for example.
I like Hrgovic.
Yoko I am not so excited about. I don't know what it is. He just doesn't have 'that solid look about him' as Jim Watt would say.
Domestically Joyce should be in British title contention within a year otherwise he might as well have not bothered turning over. I'm hoping he can get in with Whyte and Chisora.
He's fighting Lewison in his first pro fight. Lewison is a solid, British level fighter. Looks like they are moving him quick.
Some Solid looking Prospects! Not sure if either are Blue Chip/Elite Prospects like AJ was but yeah some talent on the rise in the Division for sure which is great. Hrgovic, Yoka, Joseph all know each other very well and all been in close fights with Each other so it will be fun to see that carry over in the Pros in a 12 Round match up
Okolie looked awful in his last fight, looked like a budget Lidl version of wilder. Which is pretty bad considering i think Wilder is basically 2017 version of 'prime' Michael Grant.
I cant remember the fight exactly but iirc Okolie was basically comfortably outboxing Menduo and Kd'd him as well?
He is a bit stiff and gangly at times, but he is also tall, rangy and awkward at 200lbs. I still have high hopes for him in the future.

What about that HW from the Great Britain olympic team? I can't remember his name to save my life. From East London....tall lanky black guy.

I need Joe Strong to come in here and tell me about this other kid fighting out of Canada, Mladen Miljas. I haven't seen him fight, but I know he's a big dude that is 6-0 with 6 KO's against pretty decent comp. for somebody just breaking in and now they have him scheduled to fight Dillon "Big Country" Carman for the Canadian title in November. Carman ain't no joke and if Miljas beats him at this stage of his career, I'll be following very closely
Nathan Gorman looks like a pudding but hes a tremendous body puncher, will likely be fed to Dubois next year:
Oscar Rivas is back too!
Gorman is like the British version of Kownacki, excited for that English title fight against Nick Webb

Ah f*ck cant believe i forgot Gorman.
Him vs Dubois is very interesting. Might be chubby but he got skills.
Simon Kean another young HW I like has a fight coming up in Montreal in a few weeks. Starting to get moved up the ladder, had a KO of Nascimento a couple months ago
