Take sr and nacho out, i have high respect for nacho but 2 guys who can barely speak a word of english will not be a good match, as for sr., kov would prolly get charge with murder before training even ended.
All they would have to do is hit him with a body shot and he'll quit.
Someone he is going to respect. Personally I wouldn't select any of those names mentioned above because he has often stated in several past inteviews, that he does not respect American coaches and trainers. He needs a Russian trainer who is better suited to understand his needs, traditions, customs and training methods/habits.
Jamie roiding like fuck.
It will be so hard to take him seriously when he 'gets mad' as Tyson. Can't imagine him being able to capture that menace Tyson has.
Robert Garcia has experience of working with poorly disciplined guys. I don't think there's much problem with Kovalev's boxing, more with his attitude. But he probably doesn't respond too well to a disciplinarian either so it's more about someone who is used to big egos and will be a good personality fit.
Roach could do it, as he had the likes of Toney and Tyson at various stages, and he is a bit of a mercenary who wouldn't get too emotionally invested in the relationship. He likes Kovalev's style too and could potentially make him better.
I would have been teddy A., or joel diaz for nacho, heck Algaeri's trainer would also be listed.
Teddy atlas can yell on kov - Your the fireman,
Kov I'm letting you out of the cage - Chris trainer
"Slide it in son, sliiiiiide it iiiiiiiin. You are good at this, you were born for this, just relax and open it up. He can't take it" MAD GHEY.

I think Sergey would react wonderfully to Virgils Whisper.

Ive been telling everyone Dan Birmingham, this guy is the most underrated trainer in the game. So underrated I dare to call him the best. Itd really be something to see him teach his craft in high elevation.
What about Lomachenkos father?
its a good choice but won't last more than 2hrs... Loma's father still has amateur boxing type style & by that I mean train meticulously, I'm your master you are my student types..
Kovalev hardly listens to anyone, & he cannot leave his ego outside the gym.. so that would be a match made in hell...
You can only be as good as the trainer you are willing to listen to. Kov never listened and did his own thing. If that's what he is going to do, then no trainer will be able to help him. If he is willing to listen, perhaps Roach, but I would also consider Ronnie Shields. Maybe even Joel Diaz.
Teddy atlas wouldnt put up with kov's attitude thats for damn sure lol but they would definitely clash too much.
Although i think robert garcia is a good trainer, he seems to kind of let fighters get lazy/miss weight which is NOT what kov needs at this point
nacho and kov would have a significant language barrier that would make it hard for them to gel together
roach might be decent, but he might clash too much with kov as well. I see alot of similarities between abel and roach, and we all know kov didnt work well with abel
i think we'll probably end up seeing kov with some russian trainer that most of us have never heard of tbh
You think he's going to listen to Floyd Joy? He's going to train w/ Nacho? lol, WTF?
Roach may be feasible. Though, I think it would probably not be ideal as roach likes to drill his guys on specific things and it's been clear that Kovalev doesn't do that.
I say Floyd Sr. Floyd will be like "Hey man, Let me tell you something me. Hey, Look it here, it's like this.."
I'm sure he'll have deep conversations with Kovalev.
