Who will unofficially win or who will the judges say won? I mean if you believe Golovkin won this fight, which the overwhelming majority of people who watched this fight did, then yes unofficially I think he can win. Officially, he probably is going to have to fight even better which is possible but time is not on Golovkin's side.
This fight left a bitter taste in my mouth. It was a great fight and could have ended on a good note, Golovkin the winner in a close fight where fans would have said let's do it again. Both guys would have got massive respect and not hear all the other BS. People like me would have said hey Golovkin got a fair shake and sure let's do it again. Now I'm totally cool if they don't fight again only because I'm inclined to believe Golovkin has to KO him to win. I'd rather see Golovkin fight BJS, Jacobs and or Charlo instead of Canelo. Some of those guys are just as tough maybe tougher fights and far less lucrative.
In the end I know unless Canelo doesn't want it (and I assume he does) they'll fight again. Probably not until September though May makes the most sense. It will be in Vegas. Golovkin will be one year older, probably with at least another fight under his belt, my guess is BJS. Canelo won't fight anyone seriously tough if he's going to face Golovkin again, why would you risk it? So everything is going to be in Canelo's favor.
If they do fight I hope Golovkin goes for broke right off the bat. He truly does try and make it Haglar-Hearns. Maybe he'll tire out and lose but as they say insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results.
Canelo.
He is the superior and more skilled boxer.
Also, being more versatile I think he'll better be able to adapt and make the necessary adjustments.
As someone above said, boxers generally do better in rematches.
He just needs to work on his conditioning.
GGG beats his ass even more decisively in the rematch.
he knows getting a decision in vegas vs canelo is nearly impossible, so he'd have to go for a KO.
Depends how far out it is. Canelo takes a tune up in May and waits til Sept that's another year on GGG. Canelo has had stamina issues his whole career and it's not going to suddenly magically get better, so it's all dependent on how much GGG slows down. I doubt he'd slow down enough though and I'd still pick GGG.
None of these 2 have had rematches so don't know how they will do.
But often is the case that boxers who got favourable undeserved decisions in first fight do well in rematch. Fighters who got hard done by feel aggrieved and can't summon big effort in rematch as they fear they could be hard done by again its out of their control and feel deflated is Castillo v Floyd.
But having said that PAC did OK in rematch with bradlkey
It'll be another boring fight that goes 12 rds.
Fuk a rematch. But i bet you casuals will anticipate this fight in cold sweat lol
Boring? Lol Broner-Mikey, Thurman-Danny were boring. This was exciting & went back & forth
GGG had Canelo figured out by the third round. He didn't have anything for him when they sparred a few years ago and he saw that things were pretty much the same. GGG saw the openings to the body and chose not to go there, but he won't make that mistake again. Canelo will suffer broken ribs the next go round and GGG will get a very decisive TKO victory and take the decision out of the judges hands this time. You know he's pissed off with that judge and he will punish Canelo for it too. I can't wait.
I think Canelo wins, provided he's in the proper condition.
He gassed by the 5th or 6th round of this fight. When he punched, he was effective, but his attack was inconsistent in the middle to latter portion of the fight. I scored it even.
who wins the return and how?
Well, my scorecard already filled out for the return bout. All we need it just one more judge to see it the correct way so we can reward the young stallion the win he deserves.
The only way Canelo can beat GGG on a rematch is to move and box. Unless he gets on EPO, he will not be able to keep up with the pace. GGG knows he can't be hurt now and I think he will apply pressure early. If this happens, Canelo could tire earlier. The other scenario is Canelo gets brave and stands toe to toe which we all know how that could end up.
IMO, Gennady would take it wider. He was very nervious the first 3 rounds. He would go to work much earlier this time and outwork Canelo to 9-3 or 8-4 UD.
... but in terms of what happens in the ring, i cant see either guy making serious adjustments in the rematch. I think it would just be a rerun of the 1st fight so im not too hyped to see it. Even though it was a good fight, the most exciting part of watching a big fight is not knowing wtf is going to happen.
LOL, what?!
It was a good fight I had nelo up by one....I will see the rematch & got Nelo winning on the cards. And you right it could end up a rerun.
