He doesn’t get pointe taken away from anything, he just doesn’t get credit for shots he didn’t take. Big deal that canelo outlanded in power shots, by what, 5 punches? Whoa there, such a huge discrepancy right? Canelo concentrated on only power shots like a dummy. You act like powershots was 240 for canelo and 123 for GGG. They were damn near identical. One guy mixed up his punches much better. And even then was barely outlanded in power shots. Not sure why this needs explaining.
He outlanded him in power shots 8 out of 12 rounds. Landed at a 40 something percent to ggg's 30 something percent. Used great defense and had the more well rounded attack. Not to mention he took away ggg's whole body attack.
Mixed up his punches better doe!
Dat jab doe!!!
:lol1::lol1:
Give me a break.
He out landed him. What are you talking about? Now Canelo gets points taken away because ggg can take a punch?
First you said he didn't throw anything but now you're admitting he outlanded him. Make up your mind.

Hit more, landed less.
But he got the better defense doe.
Save the excuses, Canelo lost and got a gift.
Y'all sound like Chavez Sr. fans after he got undressed by Whitaker, excuses after excuses.
I thought Canelo's defense was excellent. It kept him in the fight though he lost IMO too. His defense wasn't the problem it was his lack of offensive consistency.
Canelo was tired about round 4 or 5. A lot of that had to do with Golovkin's constant pressure. Between Canelo moving like he did with his feet and upper body movement that takes a toll. And you actually don't here about how many shots Canelo missed wildly or just hit gloves. If you take Compubox (and it is used just as gauge not as the be all end all) he missed nearly 350 punches, he missed with a 150 power punches. Golovkin wasn't no easy target for Canelo either. A lot of that fatigue by Canelo was due to Golovkin.
This fight was closer then anyone could have expected. I had 3G winning by a point, but I could easily see it a draw. Nelo has improved tremendously while 3G couldn't adjust. Both took damage and honestly I can see Nelo winning the rematch. Good fight
He took some, especially in the first few rounds, but not nearly as much as GGG throughout the fight. He was basically backing away except during his 20 second spurts at the begining/end of each round. If you can bounce around on your toes like he was constantly doing, you've retreated to a safe place, that's not defense, that's stalling.
Then how do you explain that he outlanded ggg in power punches 10 out of 12 rounds?
It doesn't really make sense to me
So Canelo took no risks?

Probably because from a strategic point of view, its easier to have better defense and pick cleaner shots when your backing away than coming forward. Not everyone has the skills or patience to do so but lets not play and pretend that GGG did not have to pressure and take far more risk to land than Canelo did and deserves less credit for taking risk and dictating the fight.
That's my biggest issue with the current crop of "defensive" fighters, they hardly take risks and think they should be rewarded over someone who constantly had to take risks so the fight could happen. Want credit for impeccable defense, get in the pocket and exchange while showing your defense, don't circle around the ring 2/3 of every round avoiding your opponent, that's not defense, that's stalling the fight.

Sure, but how often? Sparingly. You don’t get credit for punches not thrown. You miss every shot you don’t take. So while GGG may have missed, he was actually doing something. They call that controlling the pace. His pace tired Canelo out. Thats called effective aggression. So yea, canelos combos were cute and all, but simply not enough to make a dent in G or even stop him from coming forward. Canelos best punch of the night, the overhand right, GGG just walked right through it like it was a splash of water. Those combos weren’t very effective at all.

you don't really believe that.
So Canelo didn't out land ggg in every department (except jabs) all the while throwing less?

because any good work canelo did was nullified by Adelayde Byrd and the lame result
I'll give you that. Byrds scorecard was bad. I had it 7-5 Canelo but not upset with a draw.
Its at the bottom for a reason. You don’t score without throwing punches.
