First few rounds I was thinking back to Hagler Leonard. He finally got going in round 3 or 4. Then GGG was pressing too much after round 9, maybe worried about it going to decision. He got a little ragged and untidy. It made for a great few rounds but let Canelo back into the fight.
If theres a rematch I wd hope Sanchez would make GGG go for a decision win and just build up points behind his jab. Like Lennox used to do. That was his best weapon in the fight.
Round 1 - Canelo
Round 2 - Canelo
Round 3 - GGG
Round 10 - GGG
Round 11 - Canelo
Round 12 - Canelo
7 Rounds to 5 GGG the Winner. A draw is not out of the question though.
First and last 3 all Canelo. The controversy is just over the Byrd card. If she had scored it 115-113 Canelo we'd hae got the same result without all the bs. The card was bad not the decision.
Agree with u on Byrd's card being the controversy and NOT the actual outcome of the fight . Seems like people don't wanna give Canelo props even though he was supposed to get put to Sleep ? Neither fighter separated themselves from the other in the fight . So I have No issue with a Draw .
For Canelo GGG obviously
need to look at the first 3 again, but can see how Canelo can get the nod on last 3. 10 was v close tho
1,2 canelo
3 ggg
10,12 canelo
11ggg
4-9 ggg
I never understood how people could give Canelo RD1 when GGG was basically the guy pressing with the jab. Canelo clearly got RD2 and i gave Canelo a 10 in round 10.
Ggg 10 and 11 by sheer outboxing and shots landed canelos best hyped punches by hbo those rounds were all glove pushes and glove punches lol.. canelo did win 12 I'll give him that he knew he had to.
I scored 2-1 the first three to Golovkin, but they were close rounds. I remember Canelo trying to win the rounds by trying to win the last minute of them. I don't buy that.
And The last three I had 2-1 Canelo. Again some of these were close.
So we have six rounds that were close. I think Canelo won only two clear rounds. And six rounds that were very clear Golovkin rounds (4-9). Therefore why most people scored it for Golovkin.
I'm not some noob who sits there with a pen and paper. I don't need all that to determine who won.
Watching the fight closely for the second time just made me realize one thing.
Fight was close to boring and both these guys are not what they are cracked up to be.
