GGG will be remembered as the guy who beat a lot of bums in a bad division, but lost the first time he fought an elite fighter- Canelo.
He will be remembered as the guy who called out everyone from 154-168, but got whooped once he got what he asked for, by a 154 lber.
He will never be an ATG.
He will just be a joke.
Sad end for GGG.
He wont!
He'll be forgotten by most and remembered by few as the middleweight chump who fought bums and lost to a real champ.
But that won't happen because GGG should win. Or will he?
He will just be a joke.
Let's assume he loses.
Only in the world of uber retarded ass boxing "fans" can a 37-1 fighter with 33 knockouts, who holds the highest KO% in middleweight history, has an Olympic silver medal, has the current WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight belts, and the only loss of his career coming to Canelo Alvarez (again assuming he loses tonight for argument's sake), mean that said fighter is a "joke".
I love this sport but boxing really does have the pound for pound stupidest fan base in all of sports.
Depends on how he loses. Super close, hard fought war, rematch, and it's not about how GGG will be remembered, but how Canelo will be remember. If he beats GGG, doesn't mean GGG's not as good as we thought he was, means Canelo is an absolute legend in the making, and would be my P4P #1.
a lot of people will say he got old. some people might say he would of beat him if canelo had the ballz a couple year ago.
wbc wanted the best possible fight and to maximise how much money they got so they wanted canelo ggg years ago and now canelo has a problem with wbc.
to me, better boxers through the last 10-15 years have had the wbc. and they didnt really do nothing wrong.
i really hope ggg is the same as the ggg years ago but we will never know.
victory will mean he is the same, and losing people will say he got old.
id say the win/loss meaning is the same for both boxers.
