Coming forward taking punches is not boxing. There has never been a successful fighter who had a sustainable career fighting that way. It's by far the most inefficient style in boxing and not even the most entertaining one.
The most entertaining boxing style is the boxer puncher style a la Naseem Hamed/Roy Jones jr. Mexican style appeals to idiots and only bums promote it. If you don't have skills, fine, but don't come at me with that warrior bullsh1t. You've found a way to make money, and that's by getting a solid beating every night. Not a bad way to make a living when you have no skills and the IQ of a prune, but don't insult the real elite boxers in the game who actually use their skills and intelligence to adapt to different styles and strategize to find the most efficient way to win.

I get what ur saying. It's nothing more than a stereotype. Theirs been alot of great Mexican fighters, u don't get to be great just by plodding forward throwing punches. Most of it has to do with the media, that's the way they paint the Mexican fighter. Larry merchant use to always describe the quintessential Mexican fighter as coming forward, taking 2 shots just to land 1. Mexicans just like Puerto Ricans and other ethnicities have different styles that's what makes boxing the best sport.
thats not mexican style you talking about, tahts bum black stylE1`
African American style would be the "slick bruvva". Pernell Whitaker, James Toney, SRL, Bernard Hopkins, that sort of thing.
Oh, we have a tough guy here lol
Here's a quote from a HBO deportes announcer, in case you can't scroll up previous posts:
“When I think of a Mexican fighter,” says veteran ESPN and ESPN Deportes boxing broadcaster Bernardo Osuna, “I envision a warrior, a fighter who comes forward, who’s willing to take a punch to give a punch, who, when the chips are down, is willing to do what it takes to win. He’s willing to bleed to score a victory. He’s willing to get up off the canvas to score a victory. There’s a saying in Spanish, ‘Morir en la raya,’ which translates to English as ‘Die on the line.’ That’s how they feel. The Mexican fighter is willing to go that far in order to come away with the victory.”
Bernardo Osuna, never heard of him. This is why you got your panties in a bunch lol?
I'm not your bro and no, I'm not kidding you. Provide details or shùt the fúck up.

MMMMMMM I think you are over analyzing this. It just means an evenly matched fight that is exciting. It means the opposite of boring. Not really implying come forward no defense. Marquez vs pacman for example, it was a counter boxing fest with high display of skill and plenty of knockdowns.

Seems about right.

it's a pretty simplistic view of the old "mexican brawler who will take punches coming forward to land them".
Chavez is the main guy who's brought up but he had good rolling and slipping skills. Olivares was no Margarito either, he had skills.
I know the difference between the actual Mexican school and what is being promoted as "Mexican style". Thanks for the boxing history.

But that's what being sold as the "Mexican style". That's exactly how it's sold. I'm well aware that there are many different styles in the Mexican school.
Who's selling that? I'm not seeing anything like that aorund now or ever.
Mexican style is often misused. When I think Mexican style I think brave, relentless boxer-punchers such as Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Salvador Sanchez, Chavez Sr., etc. They were brave warriors who would come forward and take the fight to you. They still demonstrated defensive tools such as ducking, weaving, bobbing, slipping etc., but weren't afraid to take a punch in order to deliver a punch.
Jones and Hamed relied heavily on their reflexes. Once those reflexes slowed down they were done. They could not adapt and actually box their way to victory. That's when Jones saw himself on the wrong side of a KO streak.
Keep on hating 😎😎😎 we mexicans will forever be talked about wen it comes to boxing. We'll forever hold at least the #2 spot 😋😋😋
You obviously missed the point dumbo
That's not the Mexican style.
