Do you find it awkward?
Does any of it actually help sell PPVs?
Yes it helps and I don't think he is pandering. He likes the Mexican culture and he is trying to build up a fan base. That's fine.
that's because you're naive and you still don't get how K2 operates, it's like Trump fans claiming news against Trump is fake aka ''false news.''
as Andre Ward stated, ''you gotta stay humble.''
when was the last fighter you heard say a division below him or a division above him was easy as a marketing strategy and never own up to it?
maybe you don't realize how many fans have recently reacted to Hearn's damage control about Joshua's remarks...he stated it was a fake account to then later say it was hacked...
I don't respect boxers like GGG. he can believe what he wants and do what he pleases, but he chose the path to be accountable for his words. maybe he assumed westerners wouldNt catch on to his bullshıt, maybe in Kazakhstan such a way of thinking is fine, but in the USA, man.... it's the most dynamic country and expressive country in the world geared by its people, you learn from Americans and fails, GGG is a perfect example of a hype job being exploited and give a role to play.
I think its you being naïve and also just way all over the place with stuff that makes no sence. And a bunch of stuff about America which I have no idea where that came from or means????????Have good day don't wish to read anymore.Had NOTHING to do with my post.Strange
I NEVER said Nelo won. I bet he would win by KO but it didn’t happen. I didn’t mind the DRAW as Nelo performed enough to justify the decision and i wasn’t happy taht lil’g performed like that
This is part that if I LIVE TO A THOUSAND I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND.You seem to be Canelo fan(no prob we all have favs)but to put down GGG the guy who in your own words at LEAST fought your guy even up whats that say about Canelo?I bet had Canelo beat GGG easy and I came on here and said "ah Canelo's a bum who aint beat any good fighters".You would be saying GGG was a monster and my guy beat him easy. Not trying to start up a big fuss here but really putting down a guy who most people thought beat your fighter just make's your fighter look worse.
Well Glolovkin is a non-native who fights in America almost exclusively. Mexicans and American Americans are an important market to try and tap into in the US so it makes a lot of sense to pander to those groups especially for someone with no natural group for them to draw upon.
It is an odd fit to tray and go after but it makes a lot of sense.
Basic promoting, mexico and the us are the best target sites. While most boxers disappear (understandably to get their privacy), Golovkin is the quintessential professional.
I know the “boxing is a business” crowd isn’t having any problems with this. But I also know what hypocrites they are too. So gonna be interesting to read through this.
Cant stand the mini promoters. Before I started posting on here only time I heard that bs talk was from managers/promoters or even some fighters. But to hear fans that drank the Kool-Aid spitting it back up on here makes me sick.
The presumptive narrative's people make only accelerate the epic feeling for all Lil'G fans when Nelo KO's him.
The reality is Lil'G built his legacy off Nelo''s name and couldve already unified with BJS. All the Lil'G fans swore about unification measures but were content that their Kazakh was given the opportunity to be on Nelo''s spotlight.
Karma Wil prevail for ducking 168 for years. Nelo was destined to shatter this fools image and it will happen again
Again? When did he shatter it the 1st time? And before you go all nuts I had GGG by 2 and could see a draw but NO better.

Its smart and no I don't find it awkward and yes getting the Mexican fans DEFF helps.God bless everyone of them because if it was not for the Spanish people boxing would be almost dead in this country. And 4 the record I'm Irish American.

It's whatever to me, some of GGg shtick is a little cheesy but I guess you need to do that to draw some of the casuals in
But you can deny the fact that Gennady and his team work their a.ss of to promote him as a fighter and you can't knock that, wish more fighters put in at least 1/10 of the work Gennady and his team do
He went from a unknown Kazak to one of the biggest names in the sport in just a few years

Mexicans buy/watch boxing...GGG is making a smart move...
It's clearly perpetuated by Abel Sanchez...if ggg was trained by Freddy roach and doing this Mexican style sh*t, then it would be kinda strange. The hate in this thread is hilarious tho...like pandering to a different ethnic group is the worst thing anyone can do.😂
That is Abel Sanchez telling him to exploit the peasant market. GGG is a business man pretending to respect the "mexican style" but in reality, it's pandering for $$
Really?!!?!?
"Beating them?" Isn't "them" Lil'Gs fans ?
Only the die hard Canelo fans living in denial, that know their hero got bettered by the khazak fighter, GGG, who fights more like a true Mexican warrior than Canelo ever has. That's the "them" if you have to ask and need it explained to you.
It's genius. Canelo has alienated a number of home fans with his attitude - and results like GGG v Canelo just adds to the lore that he's a pampered diva.
Every Mexican fan GGG gains, is a fan Canelo loses - so it's a double whammy.
Mexicans like Warriors - Canelo isn't one.
GGG's game and he can play it any damned way he wants to as far as I'm concerned. What's that old saying,..."When in Rome, do as the Romans do". Beating them at their own game will only make the victory all the sweeter. Just ask Floyd.
