I like both guys, Ward has better resume but Adonis has that basic 1 2 with big power. Is it enough to beat Ward though? Andre imo is the toughest guy to beat in boxing next to rigo and loma, but I do think of Adonis as one of the biggest punchers in boxing, i even favor it more than Kov, but not sure about Adonis chin. And Im not sure if Adonis can get anything done if Andre goes in and smothers the work. Just starting a random box thread while i wait for 2pm. Who you got?
LMAO at the retards in here talking **** about Ward ducking Stevenson, but the guy's one of the ONLY top P4P that actually cleans out entire divisions, and fights the who's who of fighters in his division, like he's in the UFC or something.
OMG the mighty Stevenson is coming!
Andre Ward just try to lowball Stevenson as he did to Kovalev. Stevenson is still waiting for Ward to stop fooling around, so they could start the negotiation process for the Undisputed matchup. When reporters ask questions related to Stevenson, Ward always try to convince fans by saying different stuff to justify why he's not willing to start the negociation process with Stevenson clan, instead of making this fight happen.
Ward just want Stevenson to beg for this Undisputed matchup, as he did to kovalev.
To whom you think, Ward is aiming this message to?
BTW, between Ward and Stevenson; Stevenson brutally wins.
You're absolutely insane if you think Ward is scared of Stevenson, or that he'd lose to him. Well, he could lose, just like anyone could lose, but the chances are slim.
Duckingson has already said that coWard and his team won't even pick up the phone or return any calls regarding the fight. Looks like someone doesn't want it.
This ifght has to happen but we're alreday seeing the typical Ward rubbish yet again.
Stev calls him out, Ward's repsonse "why didn't you respond to fighter A 2 years ago huh?"
That **** gets old quick. He hsould go back to fighting in whatever backwards town he is from.
OK, my mistake, he took away his best weapon in the right hand, and relegeated him to being a 1 punch fighter, and that 1 punch (the jab) wasn't doing as much damage as Ward's body punching. Ward was tearing his guts up the entire fight with the body work, and had him visibly out of it by the end of round 3.
And grappling, as in in fighting on the inside, rag dolling Kovalev, a guy that was brushing up on his Sambo training, just for this fight. And I'm usually against clinching, and the likes, but Ward mixed it in beautifully with his body work, and overall arsenal.
Remember, Kovalev is still super dangerous no matter what, and it only takes 1 punch, so Ward did the best thing you could possibly do by smothering his punches, and not allowing him to get full extension on his punches. When fighting a cutie with power, you gotta make it an ugly fight, and while you may say, he always makes it ugly, that's one of his strengths, making it that much harder to beat him.
The guys is a master at disrupting your rhythm, and completely taking you of your game, and not allowing you to get started in the first place. I honestly don't see how you can criticize his win over Kovalev, when before the fight, he was this unstoppable monster that you had to throw the kitchen sink at.
I noticed you can be very unfair when it comes to fighters you don't like, beating fighters you do like. I thought it was one of the most beautiful, and complete performances in history, considering what was on the line, and who the opponent was.

he jabbed his face off the entire fight. how did he take it away??? thats always been his best punch. not his most powerful but his best. how was that nothing yet those lil body taps ward was landing were a big deal right?
so ward will grapple(cheat) in order to beat stevenson. cool! looking forward to another ward masterpiece. oh yeah and body shots sure or low blows same thing right?

We already know you're gonna need more than a 1-2 to beat Ward. He took away Kovalev's best weapon by round 3 to 4. He made him beat him with his weakest weapons, which ended up being nothing. And not to mention, Adonis is a very explosive athlete, and Ward will take his gas tank away with his in grappling, and body shots.
I think Ward is the hardest boxer to beat in the game, today. He's just way too smart for anyone in or around his weight class. Ward is a computer in there, and is the best game planner in the game.

Ward might beat him just as easily as you say but he should fight him next if a fair money offer is made for Ward to fight him on neutral ground. Stevenson has been the light heavyweight champion for many years. He is the man to beat at 175 just as much or more than Ward. For Ward to ignore him is a bad look in my opinion. I don't expect Ward to fight him in Canada but a fight in New York or Nevada should be made if it can be made.
Why should Ward fight him when Stevenson has been cherry picking and looking to cash out now? You're not the man to beat if you duck the top contenders for years. The fact that ESPN has Adonis ranked higher than Ward is laughable. If I were Ward, I would take a tune-up then fight Beterbiev or Gvozdyk. Let Stevenson sit on his WBC belt, continue to fight bums, then retire.
Ward would school Adonis so badly that he might retire immediately after. Stevenson is not worth Ward's time to be honest.Ward might beat him just as easily as you say but he should fight him next if a fair money offer is made for Ward to fight him on neutral ground. I've got Ward but I wouldn't be surprised if Stevenson won by KO. He has a real lightning bolt of a straight left hand and a very large puncher's chance. If it goes the distance with no knockdowns then Ward wins but I think there is about a 30 percent chance Stevenson knocks him out. Stevenson is an accurate and deadly puncher and Kovalev was able to catch Ward with a bomb so maybe Stevenson can do likewise. Stevenson is a good finisher. There is also a chance Ward wins by KO as he seems to be hitting harder these days and Stevenson doesn't have a great chin.
Ward would have to find a way to kill Stevenson's body. Because if he goes on the inside and tries to head hunt he'll an unexpected left uppercut or left cross. Stevenson is very good at slipping punches both on the inside and the outside, and he does it while countering with lightning fast bombs from all sorts of angles.
The good thing for Ward is that he's a switch hitter, so maybe he can confuse Stevenson by switch hitting a lot. He didn't do it a lot against Kovalev, in the first fight he only did it on the inside and in the second he did it for like half a round or so.
He'd have to switch hit a lot against Stevenson to keep him thinking and off balance. If he's too busy thinking and too off balance then it means he isn't throwing as much as he would like to. You want to limit Stevenson's work rate coz every punch from that guy takes something out of you.
