With a win over canelo, would GGG move to SMW? With the tourney going on, it would be tough to get him a big name opponent right away, but there's a few guys I wouldn't mind seeing him fight at 168. I'm picking Canelo to beat ggg but just trying to start some convo.
Canelo, then Saunders
I would prefer to see Golovkin move down to 154 (if he can). I think he's small enough at 160 already. The guy weighs 165 30 days out sometimes, but he is 35.
Wouldn't argue with 168, but he'd definitely be undersized
his trainer said 168 would be his best weight....

Charlo has very little chance against Golovkin. Jacobs would beat Charlo and probably Lemieux would beat him also. If were Loeffler I would make that fight immediately after BJS. Fight Jacobs next to break the record and then decide whether to move up.
charlo has very little chance of landing a golovkin fight because hes too good and the money/reward isnt there....
lemieux beat charlo? pleaseee man...you golovkin nutriders are way to desperate to give lemiuex all these props
that guy lost to alcine.....i dont care how old lemiuex was....you lose to that guy at any stage of your career you aint a special fighter...the guy lost to rubio....even ****ed kelly pavlik took care or rubio
after he fought golovkin they brought him back against a 154 lb fighter who got stopped in his previous fight...lol...then he goes out and beats stevens and yall think lemiuex is some monster? lol....but of course stevens is another guy you women like to overrate becaus hes on the golovkin resume.....stevens is NOT good .....he lost to two club level fighters....lol
If he beats Canelo, there's the rematch clause. Which i'd imagine Canelo would take if he wasn't KO'ed badly or something like that.
Then if GGG won that one, i'd imagine he would fight the WBO holder to become lineal and undisputed.
The time frame is ticking on for him by this time. He'd be what..36 nearly 37? I think he may call it a day by then.
If he was to jump up and fight for a belt, then he'd probably go for a UK money fight. The winner of the 168 tournament is probably going to be a Brit. Then there's DeGale, who i'd pick Golovkin to stop. DeGale likes a punch up too much.
Canelo has a rematch clause, he still doesn't have the WBO, and every decent SMW is involved in the WBSS. He would be silly to move up after this Sept.
GGG doesn't have it in him to go through that gauntlet without being beat.....he might beat canelo..he would probably beat BSJ...but Jacobs would beat him and if he didn't charlo surely would
GGG aint taking those fights in a row...or anything close to it....

why would he go up? cause Ward is long gone now and the coast is clear? badou jack gone now too? lol.....
would be a typical golovkin move though....years of everyone saying how hes a "small" mw and a natural MW....he will move up and fight in another mediocre division when theres a young prime lion entering his division that he will want no part of
if golovkin goes to 168 it better be to rematch danny..otherwise golovkin is a bigger fraud than he already appears to be
This is why I think he would. Becuase Ward is long gone.
He minds well stay in his bum ass division until he retires. Let's see G vs Lemieux II lol

Jacobs already lost, no reason to think he does any better. But Charlo surely does? He took four rounds to knock out a guy on one leg. He beat JRock, but he's got no chin.Lets see him in a fight before we proclaim him the next big thing.
No. He is a 35 year old man who makes 160 with ease. Men don't grow at age 35 so why should he make things harder by moving up to 168 to fight men who are naturally much bigger than himself? He should stay middleweight champ and fight worthy middleweights like Saunders, Jermall and Jacobs and try to break Hopkins's record for successful title defenses. If he fought a 168 pounder as good as himself he would lose so he should continue to fight as a middleweight which is what he is. The world's best middleweight.

Even if Ward were at 168 he won't bring any money to the fight. It was surprising that Kovalev and Ward did poorly. He won't move up until he breaks Hopkins record.
I think he beats Canelo. Canelo then fights Cotto but retains his options on the rematch clause. Golovkin unifies and then rematches Canelo.
Big money show. Different times everything is driven by money.

This...all day.
No way he moves up imo.
His options at 160 are way more attractive. If Roach and Cotto are serious, GGG may get his hands on Cotto in Dec this year.
Then he can have a second fight with Canelo on Cinco de Mayo next year and meet Saunders afterwards. Furthermore, there are Charlo, Jacobs, Derevyanchenko and Murata waiting for their shot. I doubt Golovkin will fight all of them, but as a fan I would be exited to see him fighting any of those guys.
Let's say he beats
Canelo
Cotto
Canelo
Saunders
Charlo
Derevyanchenko
Jacobs
and then retires 44-0. That would be pretty impressiv.
Badou Jack the great fighter who perhaps lost to Alexander Brand.
Barely scraped by Mouton.
Lost to Periban.
Got destroyed by Derek Edwards.
The fight vs Dirrell was too close to call.
Got a gift against Groves
Draw vs Bute
Draw vs Degale
“Let’s do it again at light heavyweight. It’s time to move to light heavyweight.” - Badou
jack is far from great...but hes solid and is the right size and tough enough to make it a rough night for golovkin......he is obviously far from great
but remember...golovkin is the guy that ducked a featherfisted ward at 168...said "no thanks" WITHIN A HALF HOUR....didn't even reply "we will take a look and get back to you and see if this is something were interested in"...they flat out said NO in 30 minutes...LOL....to a rusty featherfisted fighter
Maybe, maybe not. The point is that, as a fan of the sport, those are the fights he SHOULD be taking next imo. I don't think he fears anyone, so I don't think it will be a problem. Of course, wins are not guaranteed.
he himself might not fear anyone...but his managers sure do.....that's why they replied back in a half hour "no thanks" to andre ward at 168.....
I agree though..as a fan those would be the fights we would want to see....im not sure theyd fancy Jacobs again or charlo though
