The sweet science looked overrated. Foyd turning his back, conner landing more shots than any other fighter.
The ecuses are mind boggling, Floyd had to let an MMA fighter gas, to score the KO.
Conor won the 1st 2 rounds, and you could give him the 3rd too. The 4th round wasn't close, Mayweather easily won that round as well as all the rest of the rounds. 9 was a 10-8 round.
Floyd was gauging his rhythm and distance. He was applying pressure, while also landing a few sneaky shots upstairs, but most importantly, he was putting in work to the body, to gas him around the 5th and 6th. Once he realized Conor's pace, and snap on his punches were dropping, he went into full, in his chest, mode, and the KO was inevitable from the 6th round, on.
He delivered on his promise, and really did go on attack mode from the jump, and made it as entertaining as possible. Some would argue he carried Conor for the first 4, but I wouldn't go that far. I just think he was analyzing, and chipping away at him, little by little, then when it was evident his gas tank was way bigger, he was like a shark seeing blood in the water.
Am I the only one that felt Mayweather wouldn't have knocked him out? 11th and 12th wouldn't have went any different. I'm a fan but this is getting crazy. You can't just tell me when i was going to get stopped."I stopped it for you safety". Mcgregor was fine, but tired. Let him try. These ref stoppages are killing me. I'm sure Mcgregor had pints of beer that hit him harder than Mayweather. You don't last call with 6 minutes plus left. I'm just sayin
the first four rounds clearly went to Connor
be realistic
for the first four rounds only one person was making clear contact and that was Connor.
if you refuse to admit that
than clearly you're emotionally attached to Floyd..
After the fourth round connor ran out of steam and floyd started to land and win rounds...
Connor did a lot better than most people expected, be honest...
The only thing you're right about is Conor doing better than expected. Conor won the first 2 rounds at the most. People just got excited because he was throwing lots of punches but the reality is that hardly any of them were landing. Floyd even admitted after the first that he wanted to let Conor wear himself out in the first 2-3 rounds then dominate him later which is what he did after the first 2-3 rounds. Of which I gave Conor 1, maybe 2. You gotta be an MMA fan or just a flat-out idiot if you think it was close. Floyd was literally knocking him around the ring as early as the 5th and 6th rounds and could've stopped him then if he wanted to.
Even the British commentators and well-known Mayweather hater Dan Rafael had him dominating the fight. Close fight? 4 rounds? Mayweather dominated the fight.

Because Floyd let him look good on purpose.
Floyd threw 6 punches in round 1, 10 or 12 punches in round 2 and round 3. Not to mention in the rounds Conor "won" he did literally no damage to Mayweather whatsoever. Even his famed uppercut that he landed was a pillow punch that had no effect at all.
Suddenly in round 4 onward Floyd was throwing 30-60 punches per round and beat Conor's ass because Floyd started trying.
Conor won the rounds that Floyd intentionally let him win. Let's be real and not pretend like Conor did anything special at all.
Go rewatch the fight, it's obvious. If you refuse to admit that, clearly you're emotionally attached to Conor :pat:
Just stop it with the trolling. Conor won 1 round maybe 2 if you're being generous, and only because Floyd let him punch himself out in the early rounds knowing his only chance was to catch him early. Floyd was landing whenever he let his hands go, but he wanted to be careful early because that was the only time McNugget could've caught him. So he let Conor expand all his energy early and then beat the hell out of him late. Floyd could've stopped him at any point between rounds 5 and 10 but you could see he wanted to prolong the beating and embarrass him.the first four rounds clearly went to Connor

thats when Floyd actually started to land

NO way khabib and ferguson beat connor. Khabib almost got dropped by johnson and cannot make it to the ring, pulling out like 50% of the time. Ferguson will not beat mcgregor. Conner is the best on both those divisions, ferguson is prob most interesting but I would still favor connor.
With that boxing training mcgregors striking will be even better as well
Conor needs to train wrestling.
Conor loses to smart, quality wrestlers with decent chins at 155 and 145...
Ferguson > Conor
Khabib > Conor
Chandler > Conor
Frankie > Conor
Bendo >/? Conor
Melendez >/?? Conor
Chad Mendez ??? Conor (50/50 in the rematch)
Not to mention...
Nate Diaz >/? Conor in the trilogy
My MMA rankings:
Lightweight - 155lbs
1. Ferguson
2. Khabib
3. McGregor (UFC Champ)
Featherweight - 145lbs
1. McGregor (Lineal Champ)
2. Frankie Edgar
3. Holloway (UFC Champ)

Short answer: 20 lbs and unknown territory ...
I think Floyd would have gone for the kill earlier if he had known that Big MW couldn't hit like a boxer...
AT light weight and featherweight who would you favor?????????????????????NO ONE
He's not a welterweight by MMA standards...

In your multi page soliloquy you forget to mention that BS "LOW BLOW" that was called in error against Conner.
It clearly had floyd hurt and the paid off ref took action...if conner was allowed to continue to strike c'mon man!!!
it was a bit low but it shows you how boxing works. when ward did similar punches the ref pretended they were clean(after first pretending they were low) and when floyd gets hit in a similar spot they are low cause floyd says so. ref always listens to floyd of course.
Success? I gave him 1 round, arguably 2 if you stretch it. Just because Floyd was waiting and getting adjusted to his timing. It really wasn't that Conor did much, it's just that Floyd didn't. As soon as Floyd got adjusted it was easy work. Even the British commentators were saying by round 5 that Floyd could knock him out any time he wanted to. My opinion is that he wanted the beating to last as long as possible to embarrass Conor and the UFC. Floyd wanted to make him quit, but credit to McGregor he hung in there until the ref called an end to it. You trolls need to stop acting like it was a hard fight for Floyd and just admit he dominated, embarrassed and beat up Conor. This was like the cherry on top of his career, he beat everyone in boxing and embarrassed the sport that's supposed to be "taking over" as well. It wasn't just a win for Floyd but a win for the sport of boxing.
McGregor is benefitting from lowered expectations more than I have ever seen in the history of boxing. He looked absolutely terrible out there. The fact that some are saying he overperformed, is an inditement of their ability to asses McGregor’s skill or that they thought he was so bad to begin with. He hit Floyd with his best (perhaps only) clean punch of the fight (I think about 5 million MMA fans collectively orgasmed during the replay) at about 30 seconds to go of round 1, a looping awkward uppercut. That punch solidified Floyd’s strategy for the rest of the fight. From that point on Floyd had 0, I mean 0, respect for McGregor as a puncher or fighter. Another fighter would have been emboldened to really go at McGregor at that point. That is not Floyd’s game. Any person who had watched Floyd for the past 10 years knew that this fight would be like all his most recent ones. He would give up early rounds to win late. Here is where the fact that he was fighting such a poor opponent ended up giving some what they considered a “good” fight.
Because Floyd had no respect for Connor, he didn’t even worry about defending against McGregor’s early aggression. He knew he could not be hurt. I don’t want to get into why Connor had poor boxing power, it has to do with many factors. The most simple is, boxers train for years and years to obtain power in the ring. McGregor hasn’t been doing this, why would he as he is an MMA fighter. However, hopefully the idea that he had some secret Leprechaun inspired god given power in the boxing ring was finally put to rest after the 1st.
Floyd did nothing, I mean nothing the next 2 and a half rounds. People who say that was due to Connor have no pre-knowledge of how Floyd fights. The Pac fight for example, Pac won early rounds. But Floyd was putting on a defense clinic in that fight. He did so, because he respected Pac as a puncher and defended himself accordingly. Floyd knew Connor had no chance to even catch him with a lucky shot, so he sat back and did basically nothing till the 4th (he even mostly stopped head movement, which I could have never predicted). He looked bad doing so. Connor was throwing left and right, they were not any punches of consequence but enough to get the announcers to do their predictable **** and probably win Connor the rounds. People who say “No fighter, would do that by choice, making himself look so bad.” They do not know Floyd Jr. More than any other fighter he does not fight in rounds, but with the whole fight as his goal. He is content to look like dog ****, if it will help him win.
Now I said Floyd was doing nothing in round 2-4 but that is actually a mistatement. He did no physical fighting of note (it really was astonishing to see him just walk around and let Connor punch at him) but Floyd was actively working to win the fight. He knew stamina would be an issue. Apparently, Joe Rogan and all MMA fans thought throwing 5-15 punches in 5 minute rounds would prepare Connor for throwing 30+ in 3 minute rounds. It wasn’t, who knew? So Floyd was content to relax and was even goading Connor (ala a ****tier version of Ali-Frazier) by taunting him constantly. The fact that he was content to do this leaves me torn. One one hand, the cojones that it takes to literally take a dump in the ring in front the world and not give a ****, since it’s a winning strategy is admirable from a balls perspective. From a viewing perspective, it sucks and as a fight fan, its not a quality that I admire. This attitude, combined with Floyd’s skill, has hurt the sport in recent years.
By the middle of the 3rd, the fight was turning. It was basically over by the end of the 4th. I never thought I would see Floyd walking in there, head motionless, smirk on his face, like a mini Tommy Hearns. That a fighter with hands brittle enough that paper cuts are a dire threat looked like this, then you should question who they are fighting against. The next couple of rounds are pretty easy to score/figure. I was impressed with Floyd’s body work. It certainly hastened the end for Connor. Of his best punches in rounds 4-10, I roughly estimate half were to the Irish man’s (considerably larger) body. Connor didn’t just get “gassed,” Floyd was killing him to the body.
Now we come to the stoppage. To all those complaining, let me just say “Get the fook out of here!”
McGregor complained after the fight, but neither he or his corner said peep at the actual stoppage. Experienced fight fans will know this is a key thing. He was out on his feet, he knew and so did his corner.
Fight played out like I think a lot of fight fans thought.
defensive clinic....where? pac was hitting him with the much cleaner flusher punches, rocked him badly twice, and made him buckle and flail towards the canvas on several other occasions. sure floyd got hit a lot less than guys like cotto or marg when they fought pac but thats not how you score boxing. you score fighter a vs fightr b not fighter a vs the best possible fight fighter b has ever had. oh he didn meet those expectation i guess he lost! the equivalent would be well floyd didnt look like he did when he fought corrales i guess pac wins! thats just silly.
i think you are confusing a slow paced fight with being a defensive clinic. just because it was slow paced doesnt mean he was defending against the punches well because he clearly was not as he was being hit much more flush. defensie clinic was what he did against canelo. he only needed a lil offense to win that one since his defense was so good. pac was hitting him with the much better punches so he needed more offense and more clean punches but it just never came besides the obv rounds he won like 1,5,11.
if anyone put on a defensive clinic it was pac who rarely got hit flush against the supposed most accurate puncher. he rarely got countered againt the supposed best counter puncher. really the only offense floyd could muster was a weak jab that rarely made contact and when it did was grazing at best or some very weak touches that werent even thrown in a punch like motion so im not sure touching your opponent counts as punching but who knows. his rep and inaccurate compubox numbers carried him to victory. he fought like he knew he didnt have to take any risks and he would get the decision as long as he didnt get ko'd.
Yes, he was not doing anything because of mcgregors style and countering. He was abit shocked...
I love boxing, but that made boxing look horrible and overrated.
It made boxing look as if it didn't have the best athletes in the world..which it doesn't.
exactly .. thanks to floyd for that amateurish showing, mma fans now have more ammo to throw against boxing

conor had success early on with his reach. why didnt conor just keep throwing that lead right hand? just keep putting it out there, even if it doesnt do damage, it kept floyd at bay. he would have saved more energy.
this..plus floyd following him in a straight line like a retard did not help
to be fair tho, most counter punchers suck as the agressor
