Juuuust riiiight....here!
McGregor is wide open but you can see Floyd deliberately drop his hand to miss McGregor's chin at the last moment.
I think most normal people wouldn't miss that punch, let alone Floyd Mayweather, never in a million years. And had he connected on McGregor's chin it probably would've been lights out, or McGregor would have been seriously rattled.
Ironically the image was probably made for McGregor fans to say "wow, what a great uppercut!!"
It seems there are only a few people who realized from Round 1 that Floyd Mayweather wasn't boxing for real! I'm very surprised.
This thread signifies Floyd's greatness. If he misses a punch it's a conspiracy theory lol. I think more than anything, the month without sparring really ****ed with Floyd. He couldn't be sharp with his punches, seeing punches, or dodged punches when he literally went a month without seeing it. Plus he's freaking 40 man. Time has a perfect freaking record.
Is this true? You have proof?
He talked about it in the post fight. Apparently the casino he went to bet at didn't let him do it in person so he had someone else bet for him.
Google and pick any article you like to confirm: https://www.google.com/search?q=mayweather+bet+on+himself
Floyd also placed a bet on himself to win in 9.5 rounds.
He won by TKO in 9.5 rounds after walking Mcgregor down like he said he would, and winning his bet right on time.

Not the question I asked, do you think Floyd wanted to tear in and be hit, NO, sit back and access, YES, then when he knows connors moves become more aggressive, that couldn't be a possibility could it, NUFFY
Not 100% sure what you're saying but here's how I see it:
Floyd had 2 choices, box on the outside and move his feet until Conor gets tired, or walk straight forward without any movement at all until Conor gets tired.
I'm saying Floyd deliberately chose to walk straight at Mcgregor which made Mcgregor look better in the process and entertained the fans and especially the casual fans.
Mcgregor was going to gas whether or not Floyd decided to walk forward or move his feet and only engage selectively like he has in 49 other fights. If Floyd decided to box on the outside and not get hit for 9 rounds, everyone would've said "this is boring, he just ran, i feel robbed, etc etc."
Instead Floyd walked straight forward, never moved, stuck his head in Mcgregor's chest for 9 rounds straight to make it entertaining for the fans.
Floyd literally said he was going to go toe to toe and "give the fans what they want to see"
Floyd also placed a bet on himself to win in 9.5 rounds.
He won by TKO in 9.5 rounds after walking Mcgregor down like he said he would, and winning his bet right on time.
That is an intentional choice IMO.
I think Jacobs outboxed Golovkin but GGG dropped him with his power and that was the difference in the fight.

Did you think ggg only went 75% against jacobs

If that was Conor's best punch of the whole fight, it didn't phase Floyd at all.
To me it looked like when you play a game against a younger sibling, you might let them win for a little bit so they'll keep playing with you, but when you decide you want to beat them, you just win.

You're an idiot.
Most likely, his quick reflexes saw Conor's hand coming up and he lowered his hand as part of his coordination to try and move out of the way and just wasn't fast enough.
Someone with boxing experience, I was wondering if anyone here had any idea
Suppose he meant to be hit with the uppercut aswell, the tools on this site astound me

I dunno....I just feel like there's a divide here between people who know about boxing technique and people who just watch boxing matches. And then you have the UFC fans who know even less. Anyway, it's interesting.
And Connors chin did not move, either Floyd was way off or he missed on purpose, you can even see the smirk breaking on Floyds face right after the upper lands , quite a revealing gif
I saw that smirk as a 'damn, i'm rusty' smirk and also Floyd smiling to himself that Conor's power was no where near what Conor had hyped it up to be.
Floyd was sloppy all night, he's 40 and had a long layoff.
Floyd decided to give away the first round the moment the bell rung. That was his strategy, see what Conor had first and let him tire himself/spend his explosive energy.
Floyd is so great that him missing a punch at 40 years old is a conspiracy theory :lol1:
That's some mythical stuff right there.
*Flashlight below my chin, talking to my grandkids*
"They say when he missed Conor McGregor, the greatest UFC fighter at the time, that it was on purpose..."
*Kids react spooked out as I stare at each and everyone of them left to right while squinting my eyes for dramatic effects*
Did Floyd also plan that counter uppercut as well? Was it all a scripted dance like dancing with the stars? Did they have rehearsals and dance choreography coaches ?
Man seeing that again in slow mo that is a little sketchy. I'm very anti-conspiracy but even at 40 years old and rusty Floyd doesn't miss an open shot like that
Idk if that punch landing clean ends the fight but it would have Conor in trouble, and Floyd maybe could have finished him then
Not saying he intentionally went low on the punch, but...
LOL only boxing fans are this nuts I gotta figure as a guy who only follows combat sports.
Guy lands 53% of his punches, 58% of his power punches & some guys are talking about the punches he "missed on purpose" for some 9/11 conspiracy theory reason I can only assume.
The reality is Floyd is 40 years old. Most of the great fighters we talk about weren't sh^t past 35, some even younger than that. The reality is Floyd hadn't fought in 2 years. Manny looked as good as ever a year & change ago vs Bradley in their 3rd fight & like complete dog sh^t (while still winning in my eyes) vs Horn last time out. And he's been active. The reality is Floyd hadn't even been sparring due to an injury so being rusty was pretty much going to be a definite this fight.
Things can change on a dime in boxing & Floyd isn't some never aging god-like figure. He's a man just like the rest of us & he never was perfect nor could he ever be perfect despite his perfect record.
You're normally a smart poster but it was obvious that Floyd fought bad on purpose for the first four rounds.

I saw this live and I thought the same.
