Be real.
- I thought Conor would have a good/decent showing, and he did.
- I thought Conor would look bad, but in the arena, the man did better than I expected.
- My cold and timid soul only allows me to critique. Conor sucks, just like I thought.
Yeah yeah yeah... 10 years later... take that L like a man boy... macgreggor was never going to win... youre on a boxing forum bro... u already knew that but they hype got to ur heart and ur heart gave u hope and u told urself no brain Macgreggor has a chance... and u went off and bet ur daddy's money on macgreggor... it's a f.ucked up thing when ur heart goes against ur brain but I hope u learned ur lesson... don't give in to the fanboyism... ur on Boxingscence for gods sake.... ellerbe promoted it:boxing:
Nothing to lose going into it...
Like I said before, I've been reveling in it. It's what I wanted, and I got it.
And turned out even better than expected.
Who are you directing this at? I'm not the guy, I'm not the "fan boy" that you think you're talking to. At no point did I suggest that Conor was "the second coming" and whatever other B.S. that you're attributing to me.
I was hoping Conor pulled out the upset, but I expected Mayweather to win (6th, TKO). In MMA, I got Conor LOSING to his next most likely opponents in MMA; Ferguson, Khabib, Nate.
So don't confuse me with some "fan boy."
Here's what I have said/what I do think, though:
MMA is a more complete form of fighting...
MMA is a more entertaining...
Boxing world can be myopic...
I like MMA more...

win/win for boxing, if anything.
It's an accomplishment to go 9 rounds with a 40 year old over the hill champ with brittle hands?
Just lol @ a kid calling me kid. Just lol.
It's a win all around. Couldn't have ended up much better than it did, all things considered.
Boxing and Mayweather had the potential to lose big, but it worked out well.
Kid, it was a Win-Win from the beginning. MMA/Conor had nothing to lose. Just like I said.
I picked Floyd to beat Conor; that he wouldn't come out for the 7th RD. Wishful-thinking, I hoped Conor would catch Floyd off guard a bit, stun Floyd, and jump on it.
I just wanted to SEE IT HAPPEN. F*ck all the talk, LETS SEE IT. I wanted to see Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones Jr... I wanted to see Nick Diaz vs Jeff Lacy... I'm extremely thankful that we actually got to see this one.
Mayweather vs McGregor was a beautiful thing.
P.S.
Did you even watch/listen to the video? The poll options are posed in reference to the video a bit.

U realize he took the first 3-4 rounds off and still managed to ko him right? Mayweathers whole game plan was to allow Mick to punch himself out and ko him in the late rounds... Connor played into floyds plan... he's not the 2nd coming as ur claiming him to be...

Ha!
"Of course he's going to get hit"?@!? By the "0-0 amateur"!!?!
Where was this sentiment before the fight?
So Floyd was on offense,

I thought Conor would get hopelessly outclassed from bell to bell and was extremely surprised. I had him winning 5 rounds and actually ahead on points going into the 10th round. I find it comical when people say he won 1-2 rounds. BS!
I'm between two options, I thought he would do well in the first two rounds, but he won three. He did better than I thought, but it was negligible. He got away with dirty tactics, and fought a very negative fight. I give him credit for putting up a good fight, but at the same time I felt like he was just trying to spoil Floyd's boxing and just survive.
I honestly did not expect those rabbit punches/hammer fists. They're not quite kicks and elbows or anything to that extreme, but that crap was poor showing from Conor (and they weren't even effective).
Conor's window was closed after the 5th. He landed, but he never unloaded.
You can't be serious about this post... Of course he's going to get hit... He wasn't on defense He was on offense last night... how many more hits would boxing HOFers have against if he was on offense instead of defense? what does that say about his respect for Macgreggors power and skill?
And specific set of rules? U mean boxing rules? The fight was still dirty last night... but Money May still beat the snot out of macgreggor 50-0!

Conor did quite well. I never expected him to land anything other than the odd jab to be honest but he proved me wrong. Now can we forget about it and concentrate on the real fight that's fast approaching.

Nobody expected Floyd to just walk in to him all night even though Floyd told the world thats what he was going to do, Floyd threw 9 punches in 2 round lol and that is the only reason Connor won any rounds, as Ray Leonard said, its not about Connor it what does Floyd have left.
You people are going on about what Connor did, lets see Connor walk down a guy 20 pounds bigger he would get killed, this Irish Gorilla is supposed to be the biggest puncher in MMA and he was against one of boxings lightest punchers half his size and he was mugged,,,, lol
Connor cant punch for sht and it makes me wonder what boxings real heavy hitters would do to MMA guys when they land in 4 ounce gloves, the death rate for their sport would rise considerably.
All good points. McGregor doesn't last with any legitimate top ranked guy north of 147.
There were myopic people saying that Conor would not even "land one punch"... that he had a "zero percent chance"... etc..
I want to hear from those folk.
Are you eating your crow or denying it's even on your plate?

Let's be honest here. No one expected Conor to win. That much was obvious. Going in, the expectations for him were set so low, it would be almost impossible for him be worse or just as bad as we thought.
Based on what most of the world thought, yes he did better than we thought because this was supposed to be a clean sweep. McGregor won at least 2 or 3 rounds. They weren't good rounds and his punches were slow, push punches, but he won those rounds.
Considering he had zero boxing experience, I thought he did decent.
At the same time, if he wants to take this sport seriously and box full time, he needs to start at the bottom.
In reality, MMA was elevated after last night.
The so-called 'amateur' from MMA landed more punches/at a higher rate than Boxing Hall of Famers did against Floyd, the defensive master.
This "fight" happened under a specific set of rules to keep Floyd alive -- Everyone knew that going into it.
The Best Ever in Boxing did what he was supposed to do... in Boxing.
Conor dared greatly and earned the adulation of all sides.
Lol, MMA fans showing their low IQ as usual.
Would love to see how McGregor would do against those HOFers who supposedly failed worse against Mayweather. I say McGregor doesn't make it past the 3rd against the 5'5 Filipino.
