Canelo weighing in 169 or 170 on fight night???
What the **** are you talking about??? you should be banned.
Canelo regularly weights 170-175 even when he was fighting at 154 or 155.
172 vs Trout
171 vs Lara
174 vs Angulo
And he looks bigger now so he will be at least 175.
Yep, I pointed out the same thing in the other GGG/Canelo thread.
People really gotta stop acting like Canelo isn't the bigger fighter, and that it's some huge MW fighting some small JMW, that's moving up, and trying to stay Goliath like it's Duran vs Leonard.
GGG is actually one of the smallest MWs, and not a big guy, and he's 35 years old. He's done growing. That's why I find it funny when people want him to move up to 168, and fight Ward. GGG weighs 168 on fight night, he'd be a tiny SMW, while Ward would be at least 177-180. It wouldn't even be fair.
Canelo is a MW, and has been for a while. Him making people fight at 155 is laughable, and downright pitiful. For a while, people were calling it Canelo weight, because he just up and decides what weight the fights gonna be at, and acts like he's at such a disadvantage, that both fighters have to come in at 155, instead of him just coming in at 155, while his opponent can come in at the MW limit of 160.
He acts like he's Manny, fighting these big WWs, while he comes in at the WW limit on fight night.
You can only weight bully a guy if you are naturally the bigger man. Canelo isn't a bigger man than GGG. GGG will just want to be in top condition and not be the least bit worried about Canelo weight bullying him or being stronger and pushing him around. GGG will want to be fast and sharp. Canelo is a small or average size middleweight and he will probably weigh about 169 or 170 on fight night and GGG will weigh about the same. Jacobs is a huge middleweight. Due to an unusually early weigh in Jacobs had enough time to gain a huge amount of weight. He wasn't weighed on fight night but most guess he entered the ring at about 180 and 10 pounds heavier than GGG. If Canelo comes into the ring above 170 the extra weight will do him more harm than good. The better fighter will win the GGG vs Canelo fight not the heavier man. They will probably weigh almost the same in the ring.
Canelo is the bigger man, and he looks extra big, and like he's built up some extra muscle for this fight. He knows he's gonna be in a dog fight with GGG, and will want to be able to tangle with him on the inside, without getting rag dolled, and handled. And the extra muscle and weight will help him push GGG to certain spots, and be able to take GGG's shots better.
Canelo can't win by fighting like Floyd, and trying to fight on the bacfoot, and try and finesse him. He doesn't have the footwork, or foot speed for that, and definitely doesn't have the cardio for that type of fight, because that's not his style. It's like when Cotto tried to play the slick boxer agaisnt Margarita. It wasn't his style, and on top of the bricks in Margarito's gloves, him trying to fight a different style, gassed him out, quicker.
Canelo's best chance at winning is being able to push GGG back with body shots, and counter shots off of GGG's attack, and especially the jab. I bet you anything, Canelo's team has worked extra hard on countering on top of GGG's jab, and working a game plan where he forces GGG into retreat mode.
We've seen in previous GGG fights, that body shots are what's able to back GGG, and by you some time from getting suffocated. Jacob's proved it with his body shots. The problem for Nelo is, he's not nearly the mover Jacobs is, and he's not nearly as strong if a puncher to the body and head that Jacobs is.
I honestly don't think Canelo is as good as Jacob's, and definitely not as naturally big as Jacob's, and the same type of mover he is. Like Abel said, if it were Canelo that fought Jacobs, and GGG that fought Chavez Jr, Canelo would have lost, and a lot of the same people picking Canelo to win, would be picking, and betting on GGG.
I don't believe your numbers unless I see them from another source other than you. Even if your numbers are correct I would only be off by a pound or two and you want me banned for that. Shove your banned up your ass, ass hole. I think GGG will win but you seem to be making excuses for him and trying to make him much smaller than Canelo. Don't be such a stupid ass hole.
According to the 2nd weigh in on Boxrec:
"2nd Weigh-In: Alvarez 172 lbs., Trout 171 lbs."
These numbers are very well known by any boxing fan that has any clue about fight night weights. If you don't know **** about fight night weights, why don't you STFU?

I was gonna say something about the "ban" thing. I was gonna say you were a big Golovkin fan with Canelo second (or I have it the other way around). Then I remembered who the topic starter was.
It's kinda disturbing, though, how the so-called "circus fight" has overtaken this very good boxing match up.

Seriously if you think 1 pound is a big deal when you have over 40 hours to re hydrate your very much mistaken.
When it gets down to the weigh ins the last prep for making weight is just fluids not muscle.
RayI understand and agree with your point. I think the time between the weigh in and the fight is usually about 32 hours give or take an hour or two, It would never be over 40 hours. They usually weigh in in the early afternoon and fight the nest night.Even if they weighed in at noon and fought the nest night at midnight that would still only be 36 hours.

Ray
The reason why GGG is heavier this time is because instead of fighting 4 times a year he got more rest and is only doing 2 camps this year. Hence the heavier weight. We've seen him heavier though.
I think he's trying to weight as much as possible this time. What do you think? He doesn't want to be weight bullied this time.
I think Canelo will destroy your life
