He walks around at 170 pounds at 5 foot 9, he aint fighting at 147, he is fighting at 154 so this weight will be nothing, you can easily hit the sauna the day before weigh in and sap a good 10 to 15 pounds water weight.
The weigh ins are now in the morning now correct? 9 am and then they do a weigh in show for the fans at 3 pm.
Or does that only apply to UFC not boxing?
He use to fight at 145. His size advantage is exaggerated.
Yeah but he looked like a literal skeleton.
Weighed in 168 for fhe Diaz fights.
He's massive. Towered over Alvarez in their fight.
He's close to 170 when he's hydrated.
Totally different in terms of cardio.
I don't watch much MMA but I'd be willing to bet the punches thrown per round is a pitiful number compared to boxing. Do they even count punches?
Same as far as moving your feet and moving around the ring.
Rolling around on the ground is taxing but it's a totally different kind of workout when compared to boxing.
When an MMA fight goes to the ground it goes slooooooow as hell, it looks like one man struggling desperately to mount another man for sexual relations :gay:
You're right. The MMA gym I trained it was known for being brutal with training methods. I was years out of the Am's but still working out hard. The calisthenics they did, dudes were huffing and puffing and I wasn't even breathing heavy. I was like, these cats are weak. Lots of them didn't run either, they didn't believe in it.
long slow rounds? in mma you have to defend against guys your size taking you down, actually taking you down, wrestling you aroudn and leaning on you constantly. its like a higher paced version of a ward/wlad fight.
I trained MMA after my Am's days and when you're on the ground, its a form of rest. It's easier than it looks you're just going to have to take my word on that. Staying on your feet is more demanding. MMA fighters pace themselves and the output is low.
That ain't nothing
The reason why Floyd is the best is because he's at his weight all the time roughly. That's my generation of fighters. They didn't have to cut weight because they were like 10lbs heavier than fight weight at all times.
If you got to cut 10lbs in 15 days, it taxes your body. I've been there and that's the deal. When you're on weight, you perform at the highest level.
Dickrider of the year award hands down goes to you I never seen anyone slurp another man so hard
How about aboutfkntime and Robbie Barrett? Aboutfkntime handles Floyd's taxes and Robbie Barrett fantasizes of Floyd reading him bedtime stories. Two major morons who can't get enough Mayweather meat.

im not sure why people say grappling takes more energy out of you than boxing, i highly doubt it. Throwing a ton of punches, sticking and moving, moving your head, angles, etc. probably takes more, what do you think?

This ain't no motherfcuking MMA where you can cut weight and get away with it in long slow as$ rounds rolling around in speedo's.
You guys are missing the point.
What Floyd said was he does his homework and knows everything about his opponents.
He knows Mcgregor's weight, his party habits, and he probably knows his fight plan and has an estimation of his boxing style and skill.
So when people say "Conor's gonna do stuff that Floyd's never seen before"
What they should take from this is that Floyd probably knows much more about Mcgregor than he's letting on.
Conor won't lose because of any problems making weight. He will lose because Mayweather is a vastly superior boxer than Conor even at age 40. That should be obvious to anyone with any boxing knowledge at all. If they gave belts in boxing like they do in Judo and karate then Conor would hold one of the beginner belts while Mayweather would be a 10th degree black belt master or something like that.
Is anyone surprised that a supreme athlete is already on his weight target 2 weeks out?
Connor carries a lot of water weight and 1 one day he could drop 2 pounds with ease and not lose muscle mass.
