Probably a silly question but does anyone think Floyd might target Canelo if he is crowned the undisputed Middle weight Champion? Do you guys think its possible that if GGG won it that Floyd still might go for it any way if he walks to a victory vs. Mc0-0.
spence and mayweather have both said they'd beat golovkin so im expecting them both to fight him next year and back up the talk.
I think they win 2 on 1
I'll give neither canelo or ggg any credit. Floyd is way past prime and it's a lose lose for both. If they beat him they beat a shell of what he was if they lose to im they beat an old man. Floyd fuk off and retire please take PAC, Ward, khan, rios and Ortiz with yu

Wont' happen, why discuss it? Mayweather just said he doesn't need to fight either GGG or Canelo, Canelo needs to fight GGG, not him, he already took Canelo to school bla bla blah...
You're right it's a silly question.
Floyd is done after this next fight. People need to learn to let him go away. Stop mentioning him as a boxer already, we might still get to see him in promotional stuff but damn just f*cking stop with trying to match him with anybody anymore. It's pointless, let him have whatever legacy you think he has and move on to the next guy you hate/idolize.
Most people have moved on already because boxing is in a good state right now, minus the corruption. But then Mayweather comes back and does this silly ish about boxing a mcwrestler, even tho he always talks about cleaning up the sport, so of course it's going to get people talking again.
spence and mayweather have both said they'd beat golovkin so im expecting them both to fight him next year and back up the talk.Big talk and bragging is very common among boxers these days. Nobody should expect the boxers to back up everything they say at the moment in an interview. Mayweather and Spence will not be fighting GGG in this lifetime and Ward won't be fighting AJ either.
Mayweather was never, never, never going to fight Golovkin at 160lbs or 154lbs at any time. He isn't dumb, his pops said the truth, Golovkin is simply too big for Floyd. But not just big, really good too. Being the best P4P doesn't mean you win every fight. Duran was clearly a better fighter p4p than Hearns but he got smoked when they matched up. Not saying Golovkin/Mayweather would have been that lopsided but just goes to show my point.
I'd argue that if Golovkin went up against Ward he'd be at a distinct size disadvantage and for that reason I'd favor Ward, plus Ward is excellent. But I'm not sure when it comes to P4P that Ward is any better than Golovkin.
Mayweather only came back for one reason and that was to make huge money for an easy fight he almost certainly will win. If Mayweather was coming back for a combination of making big money and taking a fight that would add to his already great legacy if he won then he would have picked somebody like Spence or Thurman. He will KOt Conor and go cash his gigantic check and retire for good. The thought of fighting the Canelo-GGG winnier at 160 pounds will never cross his mind nor should it. He is way too old and small to win that fight. Mayweather is a welterweight and only fought Cotto at 154. He made Canelo get down to 152 before agreeing to fight him. He isn't going to now fight a prime middleweight Canelo at 160 or a huge punching powerhouse GGG when he is 40 years old.
His ERA is Done, he dominated his ERA and hopefully after McGregor the sport of boxing can move on because things are getting GOOD in boxing WITHOUT HIM! If it was a fight in which he could early 100-300 Million like this McGregor it probably would've been possible but the fact that he dominated Canelo the first time ruined the possibilty of the rematch being bigger than the first fight. With GGG, Hardcores we like him and know of him but casuals still don't know GGG like that which is why the Buzz for Canelo vs GGG kinda fizzled out and nobody really talking about it not even on this forum I haven't seen many GGG vs Canelo threads!
Floyd might concievably beat Plod at 160, because Plod can't handle movement.
Golovkin knows how to use his feet and cut the ring doe. GGG would do what Maidana did in his first fight with Floyd ... x10.
Ggg gonna fight dirty?
floyds been boxing for more than 20 years and yet you still havent caught on......he wouldnt even fight canelo at 154 when they were both champs but now hes moving up to 160 to take on him or the guy who beat him? we need better mental health care in this world
I think this is going to be the final fight, but he may consider Canelo just because of the money aspect. It's the only fight that could bring him another $150-200 million so I think he will consider it. The GGG fight won't happen because he's just nowhere near as big of a draw or as well known as Canelo. Like it or not Mayweather has earned the right to pick his opponents and GGG makes no business sense. I don't want to see it though, first fight was so easy! I can see a rematch being more competitive but the first fight was a total domination.
I'm a huge Floyd fan but I think he should fight Canelo again, but only if Gingerman can get past 97G. Would definitely be another easy 100 million for him. a lot of morons believe that too "green ****" and all the other bull**** excuses Oscar has been making for the embarrassing defeat Canelo suffered to Floyd.
You're right it's a silly question.

Best answer. Greened!
I've always thought this will happen... Provided Floyd wins, of course. If Conor puts his lights out, then I think he'll probably just retire unless he just doesn't want to retire on a loss.

Exactly! Why aren't people calling for the recently retired Bradley to fight Thurman, Spence, Porter, or Crawford? Floyd is 40 and retired, he came back for a cash grab that any old retired fighter would have taken. Floyd is 40 and people were calling him a coward for retiring because he was avoiding the young fighters but Bradley at 33 gets all this praise for retiring early.
I don't have any thought on it because it won't happen.
40 year old Floyd will retire after the McGregor fight.
He won't fight again after that.
Unless his fight with Conor has some cooked up outcome, and they end up fighting a rematch.
