In the post fight interview this Saturday, will Lomachenko finally give us closure on the Rigo situation, or will he do a Manny Pacquiao and say he has to speak to his promoter...
Of course, this assumes that whoever is doing the post-fight interview is allowed to ask him about Rigondeaux.
No. Max will probably ask him some soft-ball set-up question that helps put Loma in a good light, but Loma's crew doesn't want this fight (management, Arum, etc) and he's just going along with it. Most boxers follow their manager's advice. That's why they pay them.
You can make millions of threads about this and it won't do a damn thing.
Other than repeat the same Loma is ducking Rigo narrative nonsense.
You heard what the TR chief said. Pick up the phone and call.
It doesn't have to be him.
These fighters pay their team management to do the negotiations for them. Make use of it. Simple as that.
Loma is in a position to make a historic fight for boxing. How doesn't he need Rigo to accomplish this?
When you have an all time great talent like Rigo knocking on your door and willing to fight you at your weight class, if you care about your reputation, you need to fight...simple..
Well, Rigo hasn't been knocking on the door all that hard. Easy to tweet out challenges, it's another thing to sit down and negotiate realistically. Rigo needs to know his worth and negotiate accordingly. I see him pricing himself out if and when talks get serious. I predict he also won't fight Davis or Russell Jr.
Someone needs to contact Yormark to start the ball rolling.
Rigo camp by itself is helpless. Can't do anything but tweet.
Even better idea is to tell Yormark to buy a ringside seat in the Marriaga fight. Then climb up the ring in the post fight interview.
Even that seems too terrifying for the Cuban.
Top Rank is the A side, they should be trying to reach a deal. If Loma says he wants to fight Rigo (which has has) then why shouldn't Top Rank get the ball rolling...
I'm quite sure, BTW, that the ball is rolling and negotiations are happening...the hang up is probably about money... This whole drama about Rigo needing to "call" Top Rank and Loma offering a win take all, are just covers, something to fall back on, if the negotiations don't work out, imo.
Since when did Rigo express any serious interest in fighting Loma? Sure, he tweets some antagonizing statements posing as the guy who wants the fight, but in all honesty, if he expects a 50/50 split then he is pricing himself out of the fight. Rigo has stalled his career for years now. He could have fought Loma at 126 but didn't want it. Honestly, Loma doesn't need Rigo, but Rigo needs Loma if he wants a bigger payday than $150K.

Loma is great. If he calls out a fighter 2 weight classes below after beating a guy moving up to 130 that lost his last fight at 126, then that is extremely weak and everyone should crap on him for that.
Call out Berchelt or Corrales, the next 2 best in the division. That or mock Salido for not fighting him.
Loma calling out/expressing serious interest in fighting Rigo is definitely NOT weak...
If Loma was more serious about the Rigo fight, I'd have even more respect for him, because Rigo is a serious challenge. Loma isn't going to bulldoze through Rigo... he didn't bulldoze through Gary Russell...How in the hell is he going to bulldoze through a guy vastly more talented with serious pop in his punches...even if he's a smaller guy.
I don't care if he calls out someone or not next Saturday. All I know is that Marriaga will be his second tuneup in a row. Lomachenko and his team have been "running their mouths" too much since the Sosa fight to comeup with a third tuneup later this year. I'm expecting a big fight to close out the year whether against 1)Rigo (at 130 if need be), 2) Mikey or 3) a unification fight at 130lbs!
Rigondeaux hasn't been attacking Loma in the last few days on twitter... maybe because negotiations are becoming more serious?
Loma's winner take all offer shows that he isn't serious at all though.

I like loma and all....but him being with top rank is both a blessing and a curse...of course it doesnt matter because the typical pro EE brigade will excuse anything he does...but when you are out there talking about "winner take all" fights you clearly arent serious about fighting that guy
