You're just making stuff up to make Tyson sound like this mega popular guy. Not about your nephews, but people in general. You make so many sweeping statements, my head hurts.
WTF is your agenda. This is a boxing site. We get it, boxing is awesome. But you're sitting over here trying to make Tyson seem more popular than MJ.
There about as recognizable as each other but people know more about Tyson. Tyson has been in the media consistently(even today) his whole life. MJ doesnt spend alot of time in the limelight. Their is no agenda, i have lived in 6 countries and worked in more.
Sure but on a world wide scale trust me man Ali and Tyson are more well known, people know what they did. I think you forget what a super star Tyson was, i have nephews who are 15 who talk about Tyson and i'm not telling them nothing about boxing(rarely ever see them)and i know their parents don't care about boxing.
Ali is literally taught in history books and Tyson is a monster destroyer all teenage boys wish they could be.

You can make a case for Ali (I guess, I really don't hear anyone talking about Ali), but Tyson? Nah son.
You just don't understand how little of a crap some young kid in Indonesia cares about boxing, while he worships a guy like Kobe, or Lebron. And damn sure knows MJ.

As an athlete I don't really know or care who's better. As a man, Ali. He stood for something and used his celebrity to make a change. He was amazing and an inspiration.
Wow, really? I Know he's a senator but had no idea it was like that! Wow!
My man, yes. One of my Filipino buddies was telling me how he's plugged with all the top guys in the Philippines, including the top crime bosses, and drug dealers. EVERYONE in the Philippines. He's got the juice on the highest levels over there.
there was a specific story he told me about, how he was able to get a general of that country to stop doing something, just by him being Manny. I forgot the story, but he made it sound like no one else could've done that, besides Manny. He has that much clout over there.
In Europe, they have leagues and stuff. Obviously, soccer is bigger there, but they do have leagues which wouldnt exist if nobody was Watching.
There are many sports with leagues that are for very niche audiences. Womans boxing, basketball and soccer, doesn't mean anyone really cares. Its really niche stuff guys, soccer is by FARRRRRR the most popular sport in the world not even close. I cant stand it myself but thats how it goes.
I know, i did say that everyone knows who is. They just don't care though, not compared to Ali or even tyson.

Thanks. Of course, that Said, without question, Manny is the biggest athlete in that country (obviously).
I've heard stories of just how plugged Manny is in the Philippines, and he could literally have you killed within an hour, if he really wanted you dead. And not a damn person would investigate it, if there was even a hint that Manny was involved. He is that plugged.
Yeah, OK, you asked every non American this? Dude, basketball and boxing is huge in the Philippines. I bet Manny knew who MJ was too. EVERYONE knows MJ. That's not even debatable.
I know, i did say that everyone knows who is. They just don't care though, not compared to Ali or even tyson.
Dude you need to go to other countries, everyone knows who mike tyson is and what he did. I mean ffs even in the rural ****hole in the Filipino mountains manny pacquiao was watching tyson.
Americans live in a bit of a bubble, know one cares about basketball sorry just look at the numbers.

Not really. My wife is from Manila, Philippines. They are obsessed with hoops and they probably follow the NBA more than we do. Granted, that's just 1 country, but the statement that nobody outside the US cares about hoops isn't exactly true.
Two countries name more, seriously look at the viewer ship numbers.
Wow, great argument.

Exactly this. You go to any gym in America, and it's ALWAYS a group of Filipinos on the court. ALWAYS. Filipinos LOVE basketball.
Only Americans thinks this is debatable, everyone, everywhere knows who Ali is and what he did. Most non American know who Jordan is and that he was a great basketball player but no one outside of America give a **** about basketball.
Everyone knows Ali and what he did.
Most people outside America only know who Jordan is because of space jam.
Ali > Jordan
Ali is in the history books, his popularity transcended sports. Ali was more than just an athlete. Outside of sports fans and shoe enthusiasts, no one cares about Jordan. People who never watched boxing or sports know who Muhammad Ali is.
As big as Jordan is in the U.S., we can argue that even Tyson has more popularity than Jordan worldwide.
Wait, what!? There is no way on god's green earth that Tyson is in any way, shape, or form more popular than MJ, even worldwide.
If you wanna talk about who is "technically" the greater athlete, then MJ. Billions of people play b-ball, and he's the GOAT of that. That's pretty insane if you ask me. Not that many people box. And yes, I know because it's brutal, but just saying.
It's not like you're calling Ali a bum if you pick, MJ. Either guy you pick, they're just the tiniest amount greater than the other, if you can even say either guy is greater. It's so minuscule, it's not even worth measuring.
So yes, I just barely on the hairs of my chinny chin chin, think MJ is greater.
How many fixed fights did Ali win? Fcuk Ali.
Jordan is the greater athlete.
I don't see no motherfcuking Air Ali's out there on every motherfcukers foot across the globe do I?
