And I'm not talking about meth or coke habits, I don't see many people mentioning this but the main problem I think McGregor is gonna have against Floyd is his hand speed or lack thereof.
While we're on the subject how about his foot speed, again I have a very limited sample size but he seems to be a guy who wants to walk down his opponent, not so much someone who uses foot speed to get on the inside.
I haven't seen much of Mcnugget but as far as I can tell he's just plain slow, I've seen him load up and telegraph his left hand counters for days at a time, but as far as real hand speed does he have any?
Hes got a few tricks in his bag. Lead right uppercut which will get him starched. He also leans back to dodge a punch then returns with the straight left which is a move straight out of FMJ's book. Maybe a chitty jab --- thats it! His hooks blow.
Very good questions. COMBINATION speed is something I haven't seen him showcase. What about combination endurance? How many punches can he throw consecutively with precision?
No combination speed???????????
WHAT??????????
Conor is known specifically for his speed, precision and power.
How about a 4 punch combo against another world champ in which every punch lands clean,

and that gif is slowed down by the way
The thing is even if hes fast, he's not gonna be the fastest guy Mayweather has fought. Or the hardest puncher.
He's gonna get destroyed. The only question is how long will Mayweather carry him before he puts him away?
People seem to say he has fast hands. I don't really see it, his hands don't look fast to me.
His timing seems decent, in the few fights I've seen him seems to time his punches well but it's hard to judge because he's facing MMA fighters and not Boxers.
Footspeed and footwork wise I've seen nothing impressive at all.
Me neither he pushes punches its not the same crack at the end that boxers have, off course he has some pop but I doubt very much he can punch as hard as the guys Floyd has beat.
There is an interview where Sonnon goes on about the different ways of striking in MMA vs boxing, he seems to think Floyd will hit harder, Bisping is saying the same stuff he thinks boxers hit way harder than MMA guys because of technique and punching is all boxers ever do so its perfected, and they also say the level of guy being hit in elite boxing, is so much higher than in MMA.
Its all relative.
I've seen some of his fights. He has decent speed, but the bigger problem is his stamina. In the rematch with Diaz he slowed down and got tired by round 2.
In a word, no. I don't think he has enough hand speed to even bother Mayweather. He's shown he can put shots on the money (ie the Aldo fight), but it's mostly upper body stuff - he doesn't have the footwork to trouble an elite boxer. He's not going to catch Floyd lunging - he's going to have to chase the fight, and will probably be swinging at air for 12 rounds.
Floyd is going to see his shots coming a mile off.
To develop the skills - especially footwork - needed to compete at the highest level, often takes years and years. He just doesn't have the training (and in turn, the muscle memory) to compete with Floyd.
There is a bigger talent gap in the MMA than in boxing so it's hard to judge how McGregor will do in boxing. His biggest win in MMA would probably be Aldo and Holloway. Aldo is not boxer but he was a very good all around MMA fighter. Holloway is good with his hands but not in terms of boxing. I doubt McGregor's power will carry in boxing not only because of the gloves but also you're dealing with boxers with better defense. In this case, he's dealing with one of the best defensive fighters of all time who's made plenty of world class boxers look ordinary because of his skills. Mayweather can also transition from defense to offense in the blink of an eye. It's safe to say McGregor won't be on the level of Mayweather's weakest competition.
His hand speed looks slower than Canelo's or Cotto's hand speed to me and I doubt he hits as hard as they do. I think his hands are reasonable fast and his power is good but not even close to the level of boxers Mayweather has defeated. Why do you call him Mcnugget? You can call him whatever you like of course, but why call him by anything but his correct name? I think everyone deserves that much respect. He can't beat Mayweather under boxing rules but he is a great fighter.
