People bash Floyd all the time but realistically the only 3 welterweights that can beat him at 147 for sure are Leonard Hearns and Robinson.
Ain't nobody else beating Floyd.
why would i waste my time making a list for you?.
You are long enough here in boxing scene to know that many great welterweights will defeat floyd. Heck b level fighters who started as ww and ended their their career in higher weights could probably crush floyd due to their size.
Floyd didn't even prove himself against the best welterweights of his time. Why would i favor him against the great fighters of the past who challenged the best of their time and defeated them?
dont make a claim if you cant back it up
List your top 20 ww's of all time

Mayweather loses to the 4Kings-80's era Duran, SRL, Benitez and Hearns.
Mayweather is 50/50 against the 90's era Trinidad, DLH, Whitaker and Mosley.
Mayweather beats everyone from the 1900's - 1970's.
]Floyd is not even belong to top 20 WW fighter of all time. Most of the top WW fighters in history would clown his ass. Tell me at least 1 legit Great WW fighter in his prime that he defeated? Answer: None
Floyd is one of the most overrated fighter of all time.
For OP, You need to watch more boxers. You will realize how overrated Floyd is.

That's all I'm saying - people keep making this wild-eyed statement that Floyd can't handle tall fighters. All I'm saying is, he's dominated all three of the taller men he's fought, inside or not.
Add Tony pep to that list as well. He actually fought tall and look what Floyd did to him. "I can't hit the ****in guy"
LOL @ these trolls saying Hearns & all old fighters etc would smash Mayweather.
He couldn't smash Benitez. He wouldn't be able to hit Floyd much for a start. Nobody is history would "smash" Floyd or beat him easily. He's just too complex of a puzzle to solve for that to happen. Maybe if he came along in that era he would've lost a couple times, so what, all those guys lost fights as well. But if you think they run through him it's obvious you're just hating and don't know boxing.
Some of you trolls would cut your balls off to see this man lose, it's sad & hilarious at the same time  Quit hating and learn the sport. Floyd's one of the GOATS.
I think Duran would've ****ed Floyd up TBH. Maybe a prime Floyd could've squeaked out a decision but Duran could box and had real power, that would've been a great fight.
Whitaker vs Floyd would've been an interesting fight as well, this is a weaker choice but I could see it going either way.
Like everyone else said, Tommy Hearns would've made Floyd his ***** easily.
There's a reason those who know boxing make a comparison between Corrales and Hearns. Stop using height as some advantage against TBE, it's not.
De La Hoya towered over him - got schooled.
Corrales towered over him - got schooled even worse.
Castillo towered over him - beat twice.
The problem with those three is that though taller, they didn't fight tall. Floyd was able to break them down over time.
Hearns fought tall. That's a problem because he wouldn't be able to guard his body effectively. Floyd's jab to the body sets up everything else he does, and we all know it'd just take one good shot to the chin from a Prime Floyd to send Hearns to Bambi land before a stoppage ala Hagler.
Cringe worthy response. Hearns and corrales are tall and that's it in comparison. Castillo wasn't a rangy fighter he had great timing and odlh was known for his left hook to the body which shows he liked to be inside. You're reaching and I'm done
Williams didn't use his reach enough. Instead, he chose to be a swarmer.
He could when he wanted to, but yeah, that's another reason why he was a bad match up for Floyd. I'm sure he knows how Floyd fights, and what game plan to use against him. He looked like a swarmer a lot of the time, but he was still using range, and pumping that jab from distance a lot of the time.
I'd call him a long range swarmer. And also remember that Paul was a southpaw. Naturally, Floyd has to open himself up more against southpaws, and uses the high guard, instead of the shell. And he likes to walk down, and bang it out with southpaws, because that's the best way for him to beat them. Paul would beat his ass in a punch for punch type of fight.
Williams had the style and body type to beat Floyd, without a shadow of a doubt. punches in bunches, swarmer, and rangy as hell when he needed to be. Also pumped hte jab, non stop.
And at 147, he was virtually unbeatable during his prime. He had trouble with southpaws, but obviously Floyd's not a southpaw.
Williams didn't use his reach enough. Instead, he chose to be a swarmer.
LOL @ Williams or Khan having technical ability. Williams fought like an idiot. He had no defense.
And Khan makes amateur mistakes.

You clearly are biased and have trouble reading it seems. I see a boxer for their skills, their styles, technique or lack of all of the above. I'm as neutral as they come when it comes to boxing and boxers.
I didn't even insult a single fighter in that post (well a little dig at Khans chin which would not be relevant since his chin stood up to a Maidana onslaught at the time).
I didn't criticise Mayweather for not taking the Paul Williams fight. I actually said "kudos to him" for taking the Oscar fight.
Nor did I criticise him for taking the Maidana fight instead of Khan who beat Maidana, topped Mayweathers poll and was mandatory.
I just mentioned the fact Mayweather clearly got into a position of being able to pick and choose opponents very carefully after the Oscar fight which is true.
Maximum reward with minimal risk since his style countered many apart from the the tall, rangy, speedy pure boxers who are known for winning rounds consistently. Name me one fighter he faced with the combined height, speed, reach and technical ability of a Paul Williams or Amir Khan. You won't be able to. Or how about a fighter who is universally known in the boxing world for consistently winning rounds of boxing??
It's not my fault you're a fanboy who refuses to read facts and chooses to see something derogatory where there is nothing of the sort. Quite the opposite in fact.
Anyway I'm sure you'll claim not to have read this post and stopped half way through when we all can see you're a fanboy and fanboys let their own curiousity get the best of them every time.

It's been widely known Corrales was having a really difficult time making 130 at that point, and he was just coming out of jail, and dealing with personal issues. And Oscar was an old man by that point.
At WW, a lot of guys would have beat Floyd, going back at least to Barbados Joe Walcott.
I don't know if Bentiez would for winz but add Benitez to that list, and for sure for sure, Duran would've beaten. No doubt in my mind. Also, Vernon Forrest and Paul Williams would've had a great chance to beat him as well. Even a prime Oscar would've beaten him, or at the very least, given him hell, and all he could handle.
I agree with this. The legacy fights for Floyd are probably Hernandez, Corrales, Gatti, DLH (household fame), Manny (PPV record), and Canelo. He had several other great wins - Judah, Mosley, Cotto, Manfredy, JLC, and of course Hatton
I feel that Gatti was a bum and I dont care too much for what he did at the lower weights, even though he did beat some great champions.
For me, everyone he fought when he came back in 09, minus Berto. Floyd was facing all those big young guys, or coming off layoffs, coming out of jail. I dont think Ghost is a worldbeater, but Ghost was 160lbs, and in his prime, while Floyd was 36yrs old and 150lbs coming out of jail. The circumstantial disadvantages, made the fights tougher than they would've been for other opponents.
Ortiz aint special, but Floyd was 34yrs old coming off a 16 month layoff. Ortiz was 24yrs old and 15lbs bigger. Floyd pushed that boy back and blasted him. THAT fight was more credible than anything he did at the lower weights, because we fighting bigger men now who hit way harder.
