Yes, I would consider him one of the 25 best light heavyweights even though he hasn't been fighting at 175 very long. His great work at 168 has to be of value at 175 since it's only 7 pounds less. A great 168 pounder is surely a very good 175 pounder. He beat Kovalev and Kovalev is among the top 25 light heavyweights of all time in my opinion. Add to that Ward's good win over Barrera and a win over Stevenson and I think Ward makes it into the 25 best light heavyweights of all time and probably makes the top 15 light heavyweights of all time for his excellent unbeaten career at 168 and 175.
Stevenson's not that good. All he has is a left hand.
Stevenson has that deathblow left hand, that he's found the craft to hide behind 6 or 7 different looks.
Throws it straight, as a counter offer of your shot, in combination behind a busy touch jab, in combination behind his lead hook, in combination with his body attack, firing on your way out, after using his feet to create space, etc.
All Pacquiao had was his left hand; Roach tried to incorporate other weapons in their run, but none of it seemed to stick.
If that's all you're seeing with Stevenson, you're in for a rude awakening
Those two Kovalev wins will forever have an asterix beside them on the record books.

Your post: full of butthurt
Ward aint never going to make some people happy. If he goes up to cruiser or heavy to fight Bellew theyll say hes ducking Gvozdyk, Usyk, Beterbiev and Stevenson. If he were to fight any one of those 3 LHWs theyd say hes ducking the other two. Its simple. Ward is now in that Floyd zone. The minute he would sign to fight Stevenson he would be a 40 year old who has fought nothing but bums. Till then Ward is ducking him. Bet on that.
Thing is Ward seems to be wanting to chase legacy and greatness, so he doesn't want to wait around at LHW for everyone to grow balls to eventually fight him. Remember he was the top guy at LMW (after cleaning it out) and still nobody wanted to fight him, Froch even ducked a rematch with him (he basically became a Rigo of that division).
I would think it would be better to beat the consensus top 2 guys at LHW and take out one or more of the cruiser weight champs to solidify his legacy. If he tried to clean out LHW, all the young boys will try and avoid him until he gets old. And if he does get to fight and beat them all, people will just say that the division was weak or that they were unoroven GUARANTEED. Honestly nobody seems to really want it with Ward at LHW except for Stevenson.
Ward stalled his own career with lawsuits and diva behavior. He had a chance to negotiate a fight with Froch in the U.K. but he refused Nottingham as a location. Not that Froch wanted a rematch anyway, but at that time Ward was bickering with promoters and networks and not easy to work with. He's not a fan-friendly fighter and he thinks he is worth more than he really is. It's an ego thing.
Problem is, there aren't any great names at CW either, so even a move there with a few good wins doesn't do much for his legacy. His legacy was built upon the 168 lb, tournament. That said, I'm sure he goes down as an ATG for his entire body of work when writers and historians look back on his career, but it will be his fights at 168 that will stand out most.
Still no. Three fights doesn't get him there, especially not against that level of opposition. Let him clean out the division against Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Jack, maybe Bivol at the end of it, then we can start talking ATG status as a LHW.

If Kov had beaten Ward twice and then go on to beat Stevenson as well, would you place him top 25 LHW ATG?

Nope. Three fights at LHW doesn't place him in the ATG category at that weight. Stevenson is not a great win anyway, and Kovalev got robbed in their first fight. Top 25 as a SMW, but that's it.

If Ward fights and beats Stevenson, is he a top 25 ATG at LHW? He'd have 2 wins over Kovalev, and a win over Stevenson.
He would then be the undisputed champ and lineal king. I hope he beats the snot out of Stevenson if it goes down. That's a big IF though
Ward's career is so underrated. Won Olympic Gold. Is undefeated and cleaned out a loaded 168 lb division. Went to 175 and beat the undefeated KO artist there twice. If he can remain active and undefeated he could be all time top 10 P4P when it's all said and done.
